Richard Gage, David Griffin, William Rodriguez etc are fine examples of the type of Leadership we need in the 911 Truth Movement.

They have put their lives, careers and reputation on line to get the truth out in a Civil and Effective Way.

That's the way its going to be.

What's the old quote?

Excellent Interview -- although Alex mangled the quote ...

The quote AJ attributes to Karl Rove comes from an October 17, 2004 New York Times article by Ron Suskind entitled, "Without A Doubt."

The relevant excerpt is as follows (Suskind's voice):

"In the summer of 2002, after I had written an article in Esquire that the White House didn't like about Bush's former communications director, Karen Hughes, I had a meeting with a senior adviser to Bush. He expressed the White House's displeasure, and then he told me something that at the time I didn't fully comprehend -- but which I now believe gets to the very heart of the Bush presidency.

"The aide said that guys like me were ''in what we call the reality-based community,'' which he defined as people who ''believe that solutions emerge from your judicious study of discernible reality.'' I nodded and murmured something about enlightenment principles and empiricism. He cut me off. ''That's not the way the world really works anymore,'' he continued. ''We're an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality. And while you're studying that reality -- judiciously, as you will -- we'll act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and that's how things will sort out. We're history's actors . . . and you, all of you, will be left to just study what we do.''"

Reality cannot be created. Period.

If a quote like that were attributed to anyone other influential person in past history, it would be pointed out as an example of delusional arrogance and the underlying reason for the downfall of the empire/civilization.
How long before these words and this philosophy come back to undermine the foundation of the whole "Rovian reality?"
Reality cannot be created, only people's perception of reality may be influenced. Any reasonable and educated person will be able to discern true from created realities, despite all the efforts of Rovian type propagandists and their media outlets.

Yeah, well, how many "reasonable" and "educated" people -- that is, people who believe THEMSELVES to be reasonable and educated -- believe the OCT? It doesn't do us any good to underestimate the opposition or overestimate the ability of people to see through deceptions, distortions and manipulated perceptions.

Of course the author of the quote in question was speaking of "social reality(ies)" -- or, as you put it, "people's perception of reality." But don't underestimate the significance of this. Every day we operate in a world "as if" it is fundamentally real. From a strictly objective POV, there IS NO United States, no YOU (as an individual with a name, bank account, SS#, etc.) so on and so forth ad infinitum. ALL THAT is controlled perception. Even these words I'm writing and their associative meanings are relative -- not actual. (These little shapes you see on you monitor have no meaning in and of themselves -- that is a result of your reading meaning into them.)

The point being that social reality IS a construct. This is what must be understood. The whole function of 9/11 is to MODIFY the perception of that construct. The whole point of 9/11 Truth is to COUNTER that mythology, that manipulation, and use it as a fulcrum for a deeper understanding of our social conditioning (and who benefits from it).
