Bin Laden could be dead, whereabouts unknown: Zardari

April 27, 2009

ISLAMABAD (Reuters) -- Pakistan's President Asif Ali Zardari said on Monday that the whereabouts of al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden remained a mystery and there was a suspicion that he could be dead.

Speaking to international media, Zardari said U.S. officials had told him that they had no trace of the al Qaeda chief, although they habitually say he is most likely in Pakistan.

Pakistan's own intelligence agencies were no wiser, either, Zardari said.

"There is no news," the president said. "They obviously feel that he does not exist anymore but that's not confirmed, we can't confirm that."

Al Jazeera aired excerpts of an audio recording in March in which the speaker's voice sounded like earlier messages from bin Laden, who has eluded all efforts to catch him since al Qaeda carried out the September 11, 2001 attacks on the United States.

Bin Laden, if he is still alive, turned 52 on March 10, but he is known to suffer from ill-health.

There have been reports that he had died of natural causes in the past, but they have never been corroborated, and security analysts believe intelligence agencies monitoring jihadi websites on the Internet would have picked up some chatter.

MUST READ, especially 'Highly Recommended' link

Dr. David Ray Griffin is actually writing a book on this called 'Osama Bin Laden: Dead or Alive?' that should be due out this year, 31 Aug 2009.

... a short work he intends to call "Osama Bin Laden: Dead or Alive," will address the current whereabouts of the U.S. State Department's poster boy for worldwide terrorism. But in a humorous description of the contents, not uncharacteristic of many of the interesting anecdotes he told during his address, Griffin said he believes he has the answer to what happened to Bin Laden. "One little hint," he said, "was provided by the funeral announcement on December Fifteenth (2001)," a statement that drew laughter from the audience. Griffin also noted that after December 13, the CIA, which had been monitoring Bin Laden's cell phone communications, did not intercept a single call. Griffin said his new book would also discuss the various videos that have surfaced since then purporting to be of Bin Laden, and would show that they lacked demonstrable authenticity, and in some cases, were "obviously fakes."

However, I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND you reading this post on an islamist forum, but also read the user comments below it: BUT if this link doesn't work I have uploaded it here:

This is interesting, DHS, if off-topic in this thread. It deserves a blog entry.

There is one already

It's unlikely he's in the Pak/Afghan border area...

Without Osama bin Laden, where would the so-called "war on terrorism" be? If he's dead, nobody in the US government is going to say anything, for obvious reasons. If he was alive, then the chances are that he is not at large, but most likely in maximum security custody somewhere, in solitary confinement, (quite possible even here in the US...who the hell knows?). There's been a $25 million reward for his capture, dead or alive, for the last 7.5 years, and nobody in the region in which he is *supposed* to be is interested? Gimme a break. For the most ridiculous, nonsensical blather about OBL, read some of Peter Bergen's articles... he's the resident CNN "expert" on terrorism... it's regurgitated Bush Admin's (now Obama's) baby-formula propaganda.

Osama Bin Laden, dead!

This video is a call to arms! This video is dynamite proof of covert editing of an important news story. There can be NO EXCUSE for this editing or censorship. Join the move to actively complain and DEMAND answers from the BBC.

Does BBC still claim to have lost their 9/11 archive?

What's the latest on their "cock-up?" They prematurely report the collapse of Building 7 and then can't find their archive for this historic day? And now they covertly edit Bhutto's comment about dead Bin Laden. It might have been a slip on her part, but that cannot justify the editing.

And didn't PBS pull "America Rebuilds" which contains the Silverstein 'pull it" comment? I don't know of another example of something put out by PBS that is no longer available. Looks like they are censoring the statement by taking the entire documentary out of circulation! Of course it's out of the bag forever now.

Robert Baer: Osama Bin Laden is long dead

An important news item that flew under the radar for the most part last week was the assertion from former CIA operative turned whistleblower Robert Baer that Osama Bin Laden is long dead.

Excerpted from Interview with Terry Gross (Fresh Air)
Former CIA operative Robert Baer tells Fresh Air's Terry Gross Bin Laden is dead interview is excellent but the best part is the last five minutes.

Ex-CIA Operative Discusses 'The Devil We Know'

[37 min 59 sec]

Fresh Air from WHYY, October 2, 2008 · In his new book, The Devil We Know, former CIA operative Robert Baer argues that Iran is an up-and-coming — and often misunderstood — superpower, with strong influences throughout the Middle East.

"The sooner we understand the Iranian paradox — who they are, what they want, how they want to both humble us and work with us — the sooner we'll understand how to come to terms with the new Iranian superpower," writes Baer.

Baer's previous book, See No Evil, was the basis for the George Clooney film Syriana.

I am laughing!! The attempted cover-up of 9/11/01 is a joke!!

I have to laugh at all this 9/11 Cover-up. Bin Laden is the punch line.
The official story, along with the official story always changing dramatically to suit a lier's tongue, just gets downright silly. What a lier's tall fairy tale!!

Bin Laden is the punch line.

New Howard "Blowback-Gatekeeper" Zinn on 911

Prepare to get pissed off.

The standard script

Staggering denial. All the standard talking points of establishment leftists here--regrettably no surprise by now. To think he once had his endorsement of 'The New Pearl Harbor' printed on the cover.

'The really important thing about 9/11 is how the Bush administration has used it....'

Think a little harder, Howard: The really important thing about 9/11 is the EFFECTIVENESS with which the Bush administration--and the political class in general--has used 9/11 to pursue aims of war and repression. Talking about the anger caused by U.S. foreign policy around the world hasn't done a damn thing to blunt the effectiveness of the 9/11 psy-op towards these ends, and it isn't about to any time soon. The only effective means to blunt its effectiveness is to help the public 'throw off the mental chains' (to quote another Howard) imposed by the 9/11 official story by EXPOSING its many defects and the reasonable grounds that exist for rejecting the official account and demanding full disclosure.

And he says that, as with the JFK assassination, 'this could just go on and on and on.'

And why do controversies like the JFK assassination and 9/11 go 'on and on and on'? Why, precisely that topic of which left intellectuals are supposed to be so cognizant--namely, power and its unjust exercise. To fail to call attention to this and act as if the the truth about such matters is inherently insoluble; that differing points in these debates are just kind of floating out there in some power-neutral vaccuum--well, how can I characterize this in someone of his position other than as rank intellectual dishonesty?

Reported DEAD Years Ago

Osama bin Laden was reported DEAD years ago by many mainstream sources:

BBC -- 18 July, 2002
The US Federal Bureau of Investigation's counter-terrorism chief, Dale Watson, says he thinks Osama bin Laden is "probably" dead.

CNN -- October 26, 2002
CNN reported a magazine runs what it calls bin Laden's will:

CNN -- 2006
Afghan President Hamid Karzai has said Osama bin Laden is "probably" dead:

Osama bin Laden has never been indicted for any of the crimes which occurred on September 11, 2001.
The FBI has never listed Osama as a suspect wanted in connection to ANYthing about 9/11.

Bin Laden is dead

Osama bin Laden:
A dead nemesis perpetuated by the US government

Why has he not been before the media since late 2001?? And forget the dodgy videos and audios.

Could be dead?

You got to be kidding me. Big Bin the 9/11 patsy has been dead for years. I won't even elaborate. I think it's about time we go after the real power behind 9/11 and all the other false flag events etc. The ones that pull the strings. The NWO boys. I think they call themselves the Illuminati or some other stupid name. Listen to Alex Jones sometime. He will tell you exactly who they are. Trust me on that one.
