9/11 Truth Activist Sues Glenn Beck for Defamation

An East Coast 9/11 truth activist is preparing to file a defamation lawsuit against TV / radio personality, Glenn Beck, the producers of the Glenn Beck Program, and the Fox News Channel.

Specifically, Greg Hoover will be suing the above-described defendants in Federal Court for Beck’s having repeatedly broadcast statements characterizing those who question the government’s official version of the events of 9/11 as, "anarchists," "terrorists" and as persons denying the Holocaust.

The complaint will note that - on October 22, 2007 - Beck suggested that those identifying themselves as associated with the 9/11 truth movement are "dangerous" "anarchists" who deny the Holocaust, and are "the kind of group that Timothy McVeigh would come from."

The suit will also note that during Beck’s June 10th broadcast Beck linked the murder of the Washington D.C. holocaust museum guard with "9/11 truthers."

As I have previously written, suing people for defamation who falsely claim that 9/11 activists are terrorists could be a good way to stand up to these bullies.

Hoover told me by email:

Copies of my actual initial filings will be available for media distribution within the upcoming week…

I do so having now cast off all other personal concerns. Having chosen sides... I'll stand with the patriots.

The problem...

As I see it with regards to winning this lawsuit is that there are examples of people who are allegedly members of this movement that are "anarchists," and persons denying the Holocaust. Not so much terrorists. Of course, we know that those people make up a fraction of the individuals in this movement, and are portrayed as the whole by people like Glenn Beck, and that is the point. And we also know that these individuals are not promoted by what is considered to be the most popular 9/11 Truth sites.

He may be able to sue for saying that this murderer was a hero to him, except that Beck said he was a hero to everyone in the 9/11 Truth Movement, so I don't know if that would work.

Do these people deserve to know how and why their loved ones were murdered? Do we deserve to know how and why 9/11 happened?

I agree...

That is very inciteful However, those aren't the individuals Glenn Beck and the like are referring to. They're referring to you know who. Do I have to mention names? The people Glenn is addressing are the people I thought of when I wrote this.

Edit: I don't know who Greg Hoover is, but he may think that winning may not be as important as bringing attention to this cause.

So long as it's good attention, I would agree with that.

Edit Part II: Now that I think about it. The name Greg Hoover sounds familiar, but I'm not quite sure if I know him.

Yes, this is what I envisioned!

Someone beat me to the punch on filing suit. I will still contact my ACLU friend to see what else we can do.

Ironically, I heard Beck today defending himself in reference to a NY Times article where they say the shooter was part of his crowd.

Later someone called in and stated that nano-thermite was found at the WTC. He called the caller a freak and hung up on him. I guess that is what you do when you don't have a viable counter argument.
