Fort Hood Shooting 'Oddities' - compiled by Lori Price

Lori Price is monitoring reports on the Fort Hood shooting. Many media reports have only mentioned Maj. Nidal Hasan as the shooter; however, others have reported:

"A second gunman is in custody after a shooting at the Army's Fort Hood in Texas in which at least seven people were killed and 12 wounded, reports KCEN-TV of Waco. The report comes about two hours after a first suspect was captured, shortly after gunfire broke out. Authorities say the gunmen were dressed in fatigues, though it's not confirmed whether they are military personnel."

"A senior officer who was playing golf Thursday near Fort Hood, Texas, told CNN he witnessed the arrest of one of the two surviving suspects of the shooting at the Army installation."

"Federal law enforcement officials say the suspected Fort Hood, Texas, shooter had come to their attention at least six months ago because of Internet postings that discussed suicide bombings and other threats."

"42 people shot by Army psychiatrist, promoted to Army Major in May. 12 killed; 30 wounded --US Official: Shooter was Major Malik Nadal Hasan"

Mutiny at Ft. Hood??

I saw a comment over on BradBlog that said this was a traditional case of mutiny on the base. After they got things settled, they didn't want that fact to come out because it might encourage others who are feeling the same way to act out the same way, so they framed this psychiatrist who may have just been injured in the incident. Of course this is all speculation, but with the initial reports it kind of makes sense. We'll see what comes of it if anything.

Update, more questions

The suspect had a uniquely powerful and controversial pistol, a Belgian-made FN Herstal 5.7mm known in policing circles as a "cop killer" for its armour-piercing design. The American-born son of Palestinian immigrants purchased the gun legally at nearby Guns Galore, a few kilometres south of Fort Hood in Killeen proper. And allegedly emptied as many as six magazines in the rampage. Army officials said Hasan was carrying another handgun, but there's nothing so far to indicate the second weapon was fired."

"General Will Grimsley, deputy commander of III Corps, said Hasan fired only one weapon, a Belgian-make semi-automatic machine pistol with an extended magazine. He said Hasan reloaded and fired more than 100 rounds. Investigators are still finding shell casings, he said. Hasan also carried a .357 magnum handgun but apparently didn’t fire it, Grimsley said."

"The military says the suspected gunman who allegedly carried out the mass shooting at Fort Hood, Texas, fired more than 100 rounds." and "[Obama] He urged people not to jump to conclusions while law enforcement officials gather facts about the shootings."

"The local police said that ballistics tests showed there was only one gunman and that none of the casualties had been hit by bullets fired by the police. But the military and federal investigators pointedly refused to release further details on how the shootings happened, why there were initial reports of multiple attackers and why officials took several hours to correct news media reports that Major Hasan had been killed. Most significant, officials were not prepared to say whether the attack was the act of a lone and troubled man or connected to terrorist groups, foreign or domestic."

"In addition to the 30 wounded in the shootings, lawmakers were told that eight additional people were taken to the hospital to be treated for stress and trauma in the hours immediately following the event, said Lindsey Mask, a spokeswoman for Rep. Buck McKeon, R-Calif. Sen. Mark Udall, D-Colo., and Reps. Solomon Ortiz and Mike McCaul, both of Texas, said they understood the briefers to say the "wounded" had totaled 38. Thirteen people were killed in Thursday's attack at the Texas Army post.

"Sgt Major Jamie Posten told CNN, "At approximately at 1:30 p.m. more than one gunmen opened fire into the Readiness Center. There were two shooters at the Readiness Center. Emergency services have responded. The second shooter has not been found. Fort Hood is locked down to in and out traffic." Military spouse at Darnell Military Hospital says local TV says that there are three or more suspects. There have been people arriving on stretchers. When there has been more than one gunman in a incident it poses a conspiracy says CNN's star."

It's a fact that first reports can be wrong- but they aren't always wrong. It's a fact the 'news' gets spun and scrubbed, too- but it isn't always. The latest story is that 1 guy, with 1 gun (possibly 2), shot at least 43 (possibly 51?) people who were trained for combat- and he reloaded as many as 6 times. This is incredible. How did the military, for hours in their press briefings, think Hasan was dead? Where did the eyewitness reports of multiple shooters come from? Reportedly, multiple eyewitnesses ID'd Hasan as a shooter, including the cop who shot him. Sometimes prosecutors have a tough time proving a case beyond reasonable doubt, but in this one it seems there will be the multiple eyewitness accounts and Hasan's fingerprints on a gun used in the shootings. But prosecutors lie, evidence gets faked, witnesses get paid off/intimidated, people get framed. And in the US, we have an Establishment running our govt, political process, media and economy that consistently lies about all the big issues; how can anyone believe anything they say about anything? I'm amazed that with at least 43 people shot and over 100 rounds fired, that just 2 days after the shooting, we're getting a news report that says "local police said that ballistics tests showed there was only one gunman and that none of the casualties had been hit by bullets fired by the police." (NYTimes- above)

"McCaul said the FBI six months ago saw a Web posting by a “Nidal Hasan” that interested them. The posting equated suicide bombers with a soldier throwing himself on a grenade to save the lives of his comrades. Officials are trying to confirm whether Hasan was the author of the postings. Lawmakers said if the postings turn out to be Hasan’s, they want to probe why more wasn’t done to monitor him."

Yeah, when the FBI is paying people to incite violence http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=D9A5GCC80&show_article=1 , are they really NOT monitoring these people? When the govt's unconstitutional domestic spying program in essence enables them to datamine and spy whenever and on whomever they want, w/o court oversight? http://www.historycommons.org/timeline.jsp?timeline=civilliberties&civil... Is there a plot to radicalize Americans into becoming terrorists and committing violent acts- to socialize beliefs that self-justify the phony 'war on terror'? Is that why there was no intervention before or during the VA Tech shootings, numerous evaluations showing Chos propensity for ultra-violence, and Cho having shot 2? people that morning? http://www.legitgov.org/virginia_tech_shooting_oddities.html I'm not jumping to conclusions, but there are legitimate questions about what really happened, and why we have a total surveillance state which is apparently doing nothing to prevent attacks.

Common Denominator - many initial conflicting reports.

My eyebrows always raise when I see so many conflicting initial reports followed by "an offical story line".
