A Marine for Truth

This photo is from the LA demonstration in front of ABC on May 11. Below is a statement from Johnny Wave;

9/11 Truthers,

First off, thank you all, for what I learned of each person's bold responsibilities they have taken for this movement. I have nothing but gratitude for everyone.

May 11th was a great beginning for me, and I look forward to much more. It was great to experience a team that held my back while service member after service member tried their best to attack us. Each person who approached with negativity was ushered away by facts, and personal responsibilities. I've never actually been so proud of a group of people I had never met. I purposely pushed the envelope by wearing my uniform, knowing that I was still under contract of the Marine Corps' IRR. But it was a statement that had to be made, and I look forward to making it again.

Something that I wanted you all to know is the reactions I recieved from every astonished service member after they calmed down. The first person to walk up and tell me this movement would leave a black mark on my life, later admitted that he agreed with more of our beliefs than he could admit. (Air Force Officer) The second Marine simply told me "you can't do this yet." ...yet. The third Marine took my number and later called me with two other Marine Corps Officers to inform me that I was facing a dishonorable discharge, but also saying that I was an outstanding individual and more people needed to voice their opinions to stop this war. The fourth Lt. Col. actually gave me ideas to continue this march after three 9/11Truthers jumped down his throat in protection of our 1st Amendment.

Everyone did an outstanding job! Thank you very much.

I'll see you all soon,
Johnny Wave

Thanks to Johnny, Randy, Art and YT.

Wow

Wow! This is great! AND he is holding one of dc911truth.org's fabulous signs.

Yep...

A lot of people are dear, it's one of the best 9/11 Truth signs out there.

It's Not The Crime That Kills You, But The Cover-Up

True, great pic and that is my current favorite sign

I wish I had 50 or 100 of them right now.

I'll have to see about getting some soon. (Maybe GD has some)

I like to staple them on both sides of the sticks (front and back) and mix them with my custom signs.

Well, I better get back on the road, more later, hopefully on highspeed, too.

(Lookout Seattle! LeftWright is coming to town! With my dancing shoes, too, LOL)

(btw - I showed Press for Truth to my blue collar buddies in the Upper Rogue River Valley last night and they really liked it alot)

Keep pushing the truth out there, brothers and sisters!

The truth shall set us free. Love is the only way forward.

World-Class Photo

This is the type of artistic, political photograph that could win awards. I picked out four contrasting elements:

1 Marine ("ours is not to question why, only to do or die") vs. 9/11 Truth sign (questioning the unthinkable).
2 Dissenting Marine vs. obediant Marine (the guy in civilian dress arguing with him).
3. 9/11 Truth Movement (sign) vs. The Lies of The Main Stream Media (ABC building in backround).
4.Clear, sunny skies (peace and happiness in our land) vs. The Tempest buiding in our National Soul (contentiion about 9/11 Truth and The Iraq War).

If it got published in the MSM, this picture could very well come to symbolize our generation and the contentious times we are going through, not unlike what the famous Kent State/National Guard photo did back in the 1970's. That, of course, is a huge "if". This next linked photo won an award last year:

WARNING: THIS IS A LINK TO A SHOCKING WAR-RELATED PHOTO (but not gory): http://www.indymedia.be/en/node/7227
(I had to link to a German site to find this award-winning wedding photograph of a U.S. Marine. That fact alone tells us everything we need to know today about "American Journalism".

Site's belgian

anyway, powerful picture. Thoroughly shocking, but damn well exposing the true face of war. No surprise the MIC doesn't want people to see it -- but it is just what has to be seen. Like 9/11 Truth.

That was my first inclination as well, as soon as I saw the foto. And I will show it proudly to everyone
I know as an example of courage and integrity.
Folks. This is EXACTLY what democracy looks like.

Thank you Great

Thank you Great Humanitarian. You do us all proud.

this is heroic.

this is heroic. we need more military types, especially active duty.

very difficult

it's an extremely difficult decision. especially on active duty. if you do so, you violate UCMJ outright (being a part of a movement, especially such as 9/11 truth while displaying affiliation with military is not allowed whatsoever) and face court martial and the subsequent consequences which can really screw you over. it takes serious balls. As far as IRR (inactive ready reserve), not quite sure how that works. I'm sure it's not much different. You can probably smoke pot, grow a beard, go to protests and all that, they won't have a clue obviously (until you're called in that is, a draft more or less), but if you throw a uniform on and do it, people at the personnel centers and such can get the word pretty quickly from some by-the-book good ol boys who witnessed it and therefore likely to nix your honorable discharge (which you don't receive until the end of your committment even if you've separated from active duty). I may be wrong on the IRR, but I know with active duty it's basically saying good bye to your career and puts quite a stain on future employment.

It was VERY tough the first several years after...

... but I've NEVER regretted in my heart what I had to do.

I'll give Mr. Wave a job RIGHT NOW, if he needs one.

Nice.

If you stand up for truth and justice and humanity, you'll face the consequences. Don't have an opinion, don't think for yourself, and for god's sake, if you should fall ill with some of that disgusting independent thought, KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT! This is exactly the type of thinking I want hammered into the heads of the people they give big guns to. The whole of western civilization needs to re-examine somoe of its basic assumptions and practices that are taken for granted.

Is he part of a movement?

Or is he a citizen-soldier exercising his right of free speech?

I'm sure he considered the consequences, and his conduct is most becoming of an officer and a gentleman. The Marines are lucky to have him.

VERY Impressive!!

Taking the heat from fellow Marines must have been more stressful than any battlefield. Thank you for your bravery and dedication. You've started something wonderful.

Thanks Johnny

You really will cause a Wave. Regardless of any oaths you may have taken or any bureaucratic systems in place, you do not owe any allegiance to the Bush regime. If they discharge you and call it "dishonorable", you will have our support.

Johnny Wave... What can I say?

For starters, this one image is probably filling me with more hope than anything I've seen or heard up to this point. Military and police personell are one of the most, if not THE MOST important groups to have on board. The opinions of people in uniform make the difference between bloodshed and brutality, or peace and justice.

Truthfully, I've never been a "support our troops" kind of person. I know that people join the service for many different reasons, some because they are left little choice by a society in which they are totally disenfranchised. Still, it has never seemed justifiable to me to trade the lives of people in distant lands for a college education. War is murder, and there can be no rationalizing that fact. I have also strongly disapproved of the U.S.'s foreign policy and military stance for as long as I can remember thinking about such things. (The short exception being the time between Sept. 11 and the first utterance of the phrase "Axis of Evil".)

Now we are faced with a completely different reality. Service members are now, for the first time in many generations, given the opportunity to TRULY defend freedom, not just the corporate world's "bottom line".

I don't know anything about you, Johnny, or what kind of person you were before you "woke up". But I know now that you are truly a soldier, and a man, and a human being. Please help us wake up more of your brothers and sisters in uniform. I have great concern about the types of ideas that have been and are being inculcated into those in the armed services. Help your brothers and sisters understand that they must not perpetrate violence upon those who seek peace and justice.

Bauhaus.

The band is Bauhaus, and the clip is from a Tony Scott movie called The Hunger featuring David Bowie. That is a shortened version of the song though. The original is a 9 minute dirge. It is considered the "Stairway To Heaven" of "goth" music. Bauhaus' music is heavily influenced by Bowie, only with some darker overtones. I highly recommend them.

Great Picture

Now that takes balls!

That is not meant to be gender-specific.

Johnny Wave is good and brave.

When I speak out on 9-11 Truth locally, I do get nervous still, because I live in Middletown, NJ. Middletown took a bigger hit then most communities because a lot of financial industry types live here and work in lower Manhattan. 47 from just the township area alone died in the Towers that day, so emotions always run high when 9-11 comes up. My friend lost his neighbor on one side and his neighbor's brother-in-law on the other side.

Being a Marine facing marines...that takes balls.

It sure would be nice

if we could get more service men and women to show this kind of courage. Perhaps what Johnny has done will inspire others to do the same. A true Marine and a true American. I salute you Johnny!

yes it would be nice but...

the UCMJ prevents this type of behavior (displaying military affiliation with a specific movement). not that what he's doing is bad, it's just that the UCMJ rule is used as a PR tool to keep people from seeing the military is endorsing any particular movement. it could also be related to stopping mutiny behavior. if too many servicemen started doing this, the mission (whether it's good or bad) doesn't get accomplished anywhere as efficiently, whether that be good or bad or not doesn't matter to the military. so long as there's a mission, they have to do it...if it's illegal, they don't. but that's where the consensus stands in the military that it isn't. there's quite a bit of 'god bless usa' and 'fight war on terror' brainwashing in military life...very hard to get them to realize what they're apart of is ultimately screwing everything up.

i agree he is extremely couragous to do this because he could really be screwing himself but if he accepts it then he's got bigger balls than me.

Could you provide a cite to the UCMJ

All I could find was a DOD memo about partisan political activity while in uniform. I'm not doubting what you say, as it makes sense -- I just would like to see the rule. Thanks.

Not necessarily in the UCMJ but still effectively covered by it

As far as stating it as being directly from the UCMJ, I was wrong. Whilst in the military learning about the rules, I was under the impression it was plainly stated in the UCMJ in a specific article. I specifically remember the rule (out of many others I am fuzzy on) because of being eager to participate in 9/11 truth activist activities, I heeded the notion. I tried looking for it under the UCMJ and came up empty handed also. So I asked a former Air Force first sergeant on the matter through email and here was his reply (I tried to bold the relevant sections):

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
The reason you couldn’t find a UCMJ article about this, is that there isn’t a specific UCMJ article that prohibits demonstrations, protest marches, etc., while in uniform. There never has been.

That doesn’t mean it’s legal, however. Department of Defense Directive Number 1325.6, (see: http://www.dtic.mil/whs/directives/corres/pdf/132506p.pdf), paragraph 3.5.6 (page 3) states:

3.5.6. Off-Post Demonstrations by Members. Members of the Armed Forces are prohibited from participating in off-post demonstrations when they are on-duty, in a foreign country, when their activities constitute a breach of law and order, when violence is likely to result, or when they are in uniform in violation of DoD Directive 1334.1.

DoD Directive 1334.1 (see: http://www.dtic.mil/whs/directives/corres/pdf/133401p.pdf) paragraph 3 states:

3. POLICY

It is DoD policy that:

3.1. The wearing of the uniform by members of the Armed Forces (including retired members and members of Reserve components) is prohibited under any of the following circumstances:

3.1.1. At any meeting or demonstration that is a function of, or sponsored by an organization, association, movement, group, or combination of persons that the Attorney General of the United States has designated, under Executive Order 10450 as amended (reference (c)), as totalitarian, fascist, communist, or subversive, or as having adopted a policy of advocating or approving the commission of acts of force or violence to deny others their rights under the Constitution of the United States, or as seeking to alter the form of Government of the United States by unconstitutional means.

3.1.2. During or in connection with furthering political activities, private employment or commercial interests, when an inference of official sponsorship for the activity or interest may be drawn.

3.1.3. Except when authorized by the approval authorities in subparagraph 4.1.1., when participating in activities such as unofficial public speeches, interviews, picket lines, marches, rallies or any public demonstration, which may imply Service sanction of the cause for which the demonstration or activity is conducted.

3.1.4. When wearing of the uniform may tend to bring discredit upon the Armed Forces.

3.1.5. When specifically prohibited by regulations of the Department concerned.

So, how does this apply to the UCMJ? Well, Article 92 of the UCMJ (see: http://usmilitary.about.com/od/punitivearticles/a/mcm92.htm) makes it a crime to disobey a lawful order or general regulation. DOD Directives are lawful general regulations (issued under the authority of the Secretary of Defense). That means that someone who violates either of these DoD directives *could*, if punished by General Court-martial be sentenced to a Dishonorable Discharge, forfeiture of all pay and allowances, and confinement at hard labor for a period of two years.

To simplify everything I said, there are two DOD Directives (regulations) which prohibit protest activities by Military Members in uniform, and there is a UCMJ article that makes it a punishable offense to disobey regulations.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

To be clear, I don't find what this guy doing as wrong or dishonorable. He's got massive cajones and is a REAL patriot. However, by-the-book locksteppers in the military/government might not agree, and they are technically fully able to have him punished...hence this guy really sticking his neck out there.

By the way, is there a setting for replies to my posts to send me an email notification of the reply? As downright shoddy as Youtube is as a forum, it has email notification of all replies to my posts. Yet I can't find the option anywhere on here.

You are aces in my book!

It takes a lot of brass to do what you have done. I know, and I am and have been paying the price for it, though my story is not known and likely will not be. I am a whistleblower to FBI corruption in a "big case" and subsequently came under attack. There is much they can do to hurt you, in little and big ways (cointellpro, etc). I've been through the gambit. Like you, in all probability, I did not know how corrupt the gov't could be. I fought the good fight on principle alone. I got death threats and very severe harassments as a reward for my good citizenry. I lost faith in my fellow americans. And now, I see you, in full uniform, willing to fight and die for this once great nation. You have done my heart good today. I cannot tell my story as there is an ongoing investigation and it would place me in jeopardy. Just know this - we are out there, in numbers. We are many.
Whatever they throw at you, it is worth it. This is the world we are fighting for. Stay strong. God Bless You. We need more people like you and your actions will increase our numbers. Thank you, thank you and all the others
who are willing to take it on the chin for the love of goodness and humanity.

I have no idea...

... what could happen in 48 hours.

I was talking about how the picture was only 48 hours old. It's a great photo, well composed, and depicting an incredible set of circumstances... ABC looming overhead, a sharply dressed soldier, his eyes, the open questioning arms of the man in front of him, and a simple little sign held with a white glove... demanding one of the most important truths humanity must ask of itself... if we are to survive as free souls.

John the Man

Way back when..., Viet Nam War days, I voluntarily joined the armed services. After it was declared over, I voluntarily left it. Under the stipulation that I could not reenlist, and agreed to it. Because I knew, at the age of 19, that my decision was the right thing to do. Mostly because I could not agree with the leaders of the base, where I was stationed, knowing they were entrenched into their brainwashed society of peers.
Having been a student of the massacre of 9/11, I've seen the information regarding the USS Liberty, and President Johnson's goddammed statement. Eventually one comes across the limo driver for JFK. It does not matter which political administration is in charge, in the long run. The entire system needs a complete overhaul. An entire new engine needs to be put into the old car..., euphemistically speaking.
Johnny: stick to your own principles. You will find support in many new directions you will undoubtedly have to undertake now. You are truly a Man amongst Men. Be brave, be strong, be good, be happy.

Semper Fi

You are an outstanding Marine. When one of our Nation's finest stands for Truth I know in my heart, for the first time today, that Justice and the American way will be had. The top tier Republican and Democratic exploitation of the image of an American hero, that color saturated Hollywood fantasy painted on a pane of glass, has been shattered. The top tier's immature and gimmicky icon of an American hero has become transparent and useless. They have no heroes left to bid their dirty deeds. Today I have seen an American hero. I look at you standing on the street in front of Disney's Los Angeles ABC offices and I see a true Marine. How do I know this? Because you went right to the front line, the territory of Marines. You took it to a Media giant. In the photo, the ABC building had a hollow feeling lingering, while you appeared absolutely correct in every manner and respect. For this, you are an honored man today because all of us who love our country know deep down in our hearts with a US Marine in our front line all of us can take a deep breath and a moment to clear our heads and willfully confirm our faith. Thanks Johnny Wave

as i mentioned on the other thread, my nephew is a marine captain who just lost his best friend/best man, Doug Zembiec, who died serving in Iraq. the funeral is happening as i write. Doug was never more alive than when he was in battle, killing the enemy. this was his legacy. i believe it is time for our military to do an about face and defend us against our "domestic enemies", the enemy within.they should not be fighting and dying as "occupiers" and waging battle for oil and empire in a land not our own whose innocent people we have made to suffer.

A picture is worth a thousand words...

...and I offer a million thanks for standing up for what is right.

You make me proud again to be an American and give me more hope than I have had in a long time.

I thank you for your service to this country and I thank you for your bravery in demanding truth! This country owes you big time.

Johnny Wave Tells the Truth: Los Angeles 9/11/2007

US Marine Johnny Wave passionately tells it like it is today, in front of the FOX affiliate KTLA channel 5, in Hollywood, CA. Johnny is top notch. His presence was a powerful addition to the nice crowd assembled. Many people demonstrated their support and awareness at the several locations we visited today.
