From Calgary to Toronto

Just as fresh revelations keep oozing out about the broad extent of the international criminality perpetrated by the regime of the former US president, Canada is becoming the main site of a corporate-driven effort to re-brand George W. Bush as a legitimate political pundit. On May 29 Mr. Bush joins Bill Clinton on the stage of the Metropolitan Toronto Convention Centre in an event hosted by the TD Financial Group and several other sponsors. The hosts include the Calgary-based Bennett Jones law firm, the global accounting giant Ernst and Young, the Toronto Board of Trade as well as the Toronto-based Globe and Mail newspaper.

Hello Fellow 9/11 Truth Seekers,

I am a family doctor that has enjoyed working and living in Walkerton for the last 13+ years. I am hoping you will assist me in promoting and perhaps attending an event that will bring three respected Canadian University professors (two active and one retired) to Walkerton to discuss this topic of global importance. They are also very personable, approachable and willing to dialogue and interact with anyone but especially with fellow truth seekers, perhaps even plan future events and actions. Most of you have some awareness of professors Graeme MacQueen and Anthony Hall. Michael Truscello has attempted to humbly paint himself as the "3rd speaker" but as an active academic, just recently acquiring his professor title despite being warned by some fellow academics that his public ventures into 9/11 truth and University level class on the subject could jeopardize that title. He represents a great example of a youthful and brave academic who deserves our support. Obviously events such as these are intended to raise general awareness of the issue (wake some people up) but it is also an opportunity for those in the movement, be it centrally or peripherally, to meet and network. The hall is an historic building that has great acoustics and an intimate feel with orchestra and balcony seating for 300 http://www.vjhall.on.ca/. Unfortunately Walkerton isn't really close to many places but it also isn't too far from many ( I like to say it's in the middle of nowhere and everywhere ~ 2 hours from London, Toronto and Hamilton). As I reflected on in an email to local media, this sort of thing doesn't happen every day in Bruce County and am hopeful that many of you will find it newsworthy.

Anthony Hall is like many other 9/11 skeptics. At some point, after examining the events of 9/11 and the international consequences of that foul deed, (particularly the consequences that befell countries with a predominantly Arab/Muslim population), Mr. Hall decided to speak out. The difference between Hall and most 9/11 skeptics, is that Mr. Hall is a sitting academic at a university in Lethbridge, Alberta, in Canada.

Hall joined a growing list of Canadian academics who have chosen to speak out publicly; John McMurtry, Graeme MacQueen, Michael Keefer, and of course, Michel Chossudovsky, a pioneer in 9/11 skepticism.

He made his debut as a skeptic of the 9/11 Official Conspiracy Theory (OCT) on September 6, 2008 in Edmonton, Alberta, with a reading of his paper, The Lies and Crimes of 911. The paper is an excellent introduction to a series of complex, related studies, that encompass globalization, US imperial tendencies, and false-flag terrorism. Hall is well-versed in these issues, and won an Alberta Book Award for his volume, The American Empire and the Fourth World;

George W. Bush and Omar al-Bashir

Serious allegations of criminality are swirling around ex-US President George W. Bush and current Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir. In late February of 2009 it was reported that the Hague-based International Criminal Court was preparing to issue a warrant for al-Bashir alleging his culpability for genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity. As the documents were being prepared against Sudan’s head of state, ex-President Bush was preparing to initiate a series of high-paying speaking engagements beginning in Calgary Alberta on March 17. Bush’s visit to Alberta’s oil capital tests the consistency and authenticity of the Canadian government’s “unequivocal” position that “Canada is not and will not become a safe haven for persons involved in war crimes, crimes against humanity or other reprehensible acts.”¹

The video conference featuring Canadian academics Anthony Hall, Michael Keefer, Graeme MacQueen and John McMurtry has been edited and the audio enhanced significantly. The result is very good, and is here in two parts;

Stephen Harper’s campaign has been so unrelenting in its undifferentiated smearing of the entire international movement seeking 911 Truth that it has extended the frontiers of hate speech as political rhetoric. So ruthless has the Harper Team been on this theme that it can henceforth be identified as one of the world’s foremost agencies in the ongoing 911 Cover Up.

Harper’s campaign applied a variation of the tactics employed during the Cold War by Joseph McCarthy’s infamous Congressional Committee on Un-American Activities. In late September the Harper Team’s news releases went ballistic in its McCarthyesque push to characterize as un-Canadian each and every citizen who calls attention to the simple fact that the Bush-led War on Terror rests on nothing but an unproven conspiracy theory.That untenable official conspiracy theory begins with the premise that 19 Saudi high jackers armed with nothing but box cutters, a smattering of flight training and jihadist zeal succeeded in executing the most devastating attack on the continental United States since the War of 1812.

(The sacking of Lesley Hughes reeks of political maneuvering in the run-up to elections in Canada. Hughes was indeed incorrect in writing, "Israeli businesses, which had offices in the Towers, vacated the premises a week before the attacks, breaking their lease to do it." Hughes was apparently referring to the Zim transportation company which did vacate the WTC, but had announced their decision to leave publicly, six months before 9/11. This misinformation is propagated by others, as well. Hughes' short article was dredged up by political muckraking blog, The Black Rod - echo-chambered by right-wing blogs like this one by Jay Currie, until it finally caught the eye of the Wall Street Journal wannabe, The National Post. [Oh yeah, there was one token "Left" blog getting in the action.] Now, the blogs involved are preening after ending Hughes' career as a Liberal candidate. In regard to Hughes, Winnipeg writer Dan Lett says, 'Altar of Google ravenous for sacrifices', and I think he is right. Alas, like the brigade of Flying Monkey bloggers that took down Hughes, his general understanding of 9/11 is rather under-developed. 911blogger.com has no problem calling out "Holocaust Truthers" and those who mix racist lingo with their message... but is Lesley Hughes one of those? Or has she been sacrificed on the 'Altar of Google'? Below, Prof. Anthony Hall writes on many of these issues. -rep.)

On September 26 the Canadian Jewish Congress commended the Liberal Party of Canada for dismissing Lesley Hughes, a federal candidate in a Winnipeg riding, for a factually wrong and ill advised comment she made in a paper delivered several years ago exploring a broad array of issues concerning the question of what really transpired to cause the events of 911.

I agree with the CJC’s contention insofar as we must strive to prevent ethnic or religious prejudices from colouring our interpretations of, and responses to, the assaults on the Twin Towers and the Pentagon seven years ago.

Thanks Mark for the quick and thoughtful reply. Maybe if you get a
chance to read my paper you will see I address directly some of the
questions you raise.

In my view the failure of the United States to conduct a credible
domestic investigation into the events of 911 ultimately puts the
issue in the international arena. So too does the conduct of officials
in the US-initiated Global War on Terror ultimately demand some sort
of international proceeding to address the war crimes and crimes
against humanity that are taking place even as we speak. These crimes
all have one thing in common-- they are all being committed with the
dark rationale of an increasingly implausible and discredited
interpretation of what happened on 911.

Statement on "Facts Not Fairies" Web Site by Anthony J. Hall

I want to put in the strongest possible language the fact that I completely disassociate myself from the web site Facts Not Fairies. Today it is carrying on its main page the video and article "The Lies and Crimes of 911" that I presented at the 911 Edmonton Truth Convention on September 6.

The unnamed authors of the Facts Not Fairies site did not seek my permission to disseminate this intellectual property nor would I have granted it to them if I had been properly informed of the site's contents.
