The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has had considerable difficulty determining a politically correct sequence of events for the unprecedented destruction of three World Trade Center (WTC) buildings on 9/11 (Douglas 2006, Ryan 2006, Gourley 2007). But despite a number of variations in NIST’s story, it never considered explosives or pyrotechnic materials in any of its hypotheses. This omission is at odds with several other striking facts; first, the requirement of the national standard for fire investigation (NFPA 921), which calls for testing related to thermite and other pyrotechnics, and second, the extensive experience NIST investigators have with explosive and thermite materials.

Kevin Ryan was interviewed on Santa Barbara's KPFK, on a program by Chris Burnett. Chris made opening remarks about 9/11 and then invited Kevin to speak via phone. Web site www.journalof911studies.com was given out. Kevin then took caller questions during the last quarter hour.

A wide-ranging, informed discussion about the way data was ignored and altered to reach certain conclusions about the "official" collapse theories.

By all accounts, the unprecedented events of September 11th, 2001 “changed everything”. It is therefore critical that conscientious Americans, as well as all good people around the world, understand these events in detail. Unfortunately the official reports, including The 9/11 Commission Report and the NIST WTC Report, written by those working under the direction of the Bush Administration, fall far short of providing the explanations needed.

Both the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and my former employer, Underwriters Laboratories (UL), seem to have taken the stance that the public does not have a right to know what fire resistance tests were performed on the steel component assemblies used to build the World Trade Center (WTC) towers. But since NIST’s latest story for collapse of the WTC towers depends on the fire-induced failure of these steel components, there is little information that could be more important at this time.

9/11 skeptic to discuss doubts over official story

SOUTH BEND — Kevin Ryan doesn’t mince words when it comes to 9/11 — he just doesn’t buy what he calls the “official story” of it.

“That’s my message to people on this topic,” he said in a recent telephone interview. “The information we’ve been given is false.”

Ryan, who lives in Bloomington, will bring that message to South Bend on Monday, the fifth anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. He plans to share his personal story of why he speaks out on the topic, which began in 2004.

That’s when Ryan was fired from his job at Environmental Health Laboratories Inc. in South Bend, a subsidiary of Underwriters Laboratories Inc. He now works as an engineer for a pharmaceutical company.

The firing came after Ryan wrote a letter to the National Institute of Standards and Technology, which was probing the collapse of the World Trade Center’s twin towers.
