This morning I followed a link to the 1928 book "Propaganda," by Edward Bernays hosted on your web site ( http://www.historyisaweapon.com/defcon1/bernprop.html ) from a post in a forum I help administer. I was delighted to find a copy of this book on-line which details early thinking in the uses of propaganda for manipulating "the public mind." I was also delighted to find your site which, although I'm new to it, is obviously a repository of, as you describe it on your welcome page, "an online Left reader focusing largely on American resistance history." However, as I began to familiarize myself with your site, contemplating spreading the news of its existence to my associates, in the context of addressing what an interested person should do if they have a suggestion for content in your FAQ, I came upon the following comment: "Of course, we reserve the right to giggle that you suggest we post 9/11 conspiracy articles." May 11th occurs on a Mother's day Sunday, so we elected a more "passive" approach.

So, was the "failure to prevent" an intentional act to further an agenda, as well as treason and mass murder by US policy makers- or more like manslaughter, only involving "incompetence", criminal negligence, dereliction of duty and horrendous administrative and policy decisions rooted in ignorance, territoriality, ego, partisanship, spite, suspicion- or just the inevitable, "blameless" result an institutionalized culture of secrecy that "supposedly" has been changed? Instead of pursuing these questions, he continues with secrecy issues, the subject of the film being reviewed (in CQ Politics). Article has a nice summary of the bin Laden satellite phone-1998 NSA leak publication-Bush propaganda. In reference to abuse of secrecy:

I doubt if they had the use of depleted uranium and other radioactive waste as a weapon of mass destruction in mind. Yet this is what the NATO and the United States army now use in not just bunker busters and Armour penetrating missiles but also in bullets meant for people and other assorted missiles.

When I woke up to the awful truth about the attacks on 911, I could not conceive of the truly evil nature of the military complex and the government’s complicity in the utter destruction of the Middle East and its ancient cultures. Yet this is exactly what is happening.

With the recent capture of Abu Ayyub al-Masri, Al-Qaeda's No. 2 man, it occured to me that the headline looked familair. I knew that I had seen something much like it a few months before, so I did a short 20 minute Google research on Al-Qaeda's top 2 leaders, and this is what I found.

It seems to me that we're all being lied to about these men. What do you think?

David Rockefeller and his brother, Nelson, originally conceived the twin towers as an urban renewal project to revitalize Lower Manhattan. In 1966, 164 buildings, including many electonics stores in seedy radio row, were demolished to create the WTC construction site.

But, with the realization of the Rockefellers' urban renewal dream came a nightmare: by the time the first tenants moved into the North Tower in December 1970, the World Trade Center was rife with asbestos...asbestos that 31 years later covered all of Lower Manhattan.

Exactly How Much Asbestos Did the WTC Contain?

Nobody seems to know exactly how much asbestos was in the WTC, but click on the image to the right and you'll get a pretty good idea: a lot!

The New York Port Authority originally planned to use 5,000 tons of asbestos fireproofing. The fireproofing, trademarked Blade-Shield, was manufactured by United States Mineral Products of Stanhope, N.J. It was 20% asbestos mixed with mineral wool -- a concrete-like substance made from melted rock.

By 1971, medical studies began to show the cancerous effects of asbestos, and New York City banned its use in construction -- but not before asbestos-containing Blade-Shield was sprayed on the beams and supports of the first 40 floors of the Twin Towers.

The Port Authority claims that over half of the applied asbestos-containing fireproofing had been removed by September 11, 2001.

So, how much asbestos remained in the Twin Towers?

Peter asks the caller for her opinion.

What if 9/11Truth and We Are Change groups could coordinate with groups like this around the nation protesting - and now striking! - against the illegal wars? Could our leaders smoke a peace pipe with their leaders and actually try to accomplish something synergistic here? Particularly if it's media-covered . . . . Maybe our truth action efforts will be the most successful if we can latch onto something (big) already in place? We certainly seem to have enough groups around the country if more anti-war protests and/or strikes are in the making . . . We need visual exposure the easiest way (signs on tv) . . . It needs to be easy for uninformed people to understand, and we need it to be "in their face(s)" as much as possible before November . . . . I feel like the anti-war activists who wouldn't touch 9/11 truth before might be open to it more now? There's even a sense that the mainstream media is finally pushing back a bit now; they would look completely foolish otherwise . . . Betsy

The last time I took copious notes was in grad school, that is, until March 14's 9/11 Truth's presentation at the Hampshire County Library.

In one of my Communications classes, today we gave 5 minute speeches on a “memorable experience”. I used the occasion to talk about last Friday, April 18, 2008 when the Fourteen Points paper was posted on 911Blogger.com. It went something like this:

“Do you still think that jet fuel brought down the World Trade Center?”

Last Friday, I was thinking that today I would be talking to ya’ll about the first time I saw Loose Change, the online DVD that quote is from, which a lot of you have probably heard of. However, last Friday night something happened, that, imho, is just as memorable and is more immediately significant.
