HR 1585 Authorizes Plans For Martial Law

HR 1585 which is the 2008 Defense Authorization Bill is an evil piece of legislation that actually gives authorization to the U.S. military to plan a future merger with the police that will be used during a catastrophic emergency. This bill authorizes the Department of Defense to design a plan for a martial law apparatus. There is no question that the U.S. government is seeking to ratchet up the militarized police state as they anticipate massive resistance to the coming collapse of our economy and war with Iran. This bill is yet another step in the direction for the implementation of a militarized police state in this country.

Section 1615 of the bill describes the determination of department of defense civil support requirements. Subsection (a) states the following regarding the determination of requirements.

Dutch Police State Cracks Down On 9/11 Activism

Myself and two friends doing 9/11 activism in the Netherlands were kicked off of the streets in The Hague, the capital city of the United Nations and the seat of parliament in the Netherlands. We had done a trial run on 8/11 in a smaller town called Leiden, which is just 10 miles outside of The Hague and that went well. We passed out a handful of flyers and had some good discussions, as well as numerous strange looks. Today, however, we didn't have so much luck.

BC Ferries to increase security as per Transport Canada requirements

NANAIMO, B.C. (CP) - B.C. Ferries will beef up security in accordance with Transport Canada requirements across the country but stop short of airport-style measures that would slow down travel, says the company president.
"What's going to happen is there'll be continual upgrades to the security system," David Hahn said Tuesday, adding all ferry systems in Canada will be affected by guidelines to be released in the fall. "If it's appropriate we will move to more aggressive things like screening but I don't think there's any master plan to screen every passenger," Hahn said.
He said there may be random security checks of some people, "not any kind of profiling."

March 19, 2007 -- Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton last night used a celeb-studded Midtown fund-raiser to blast President Bush for telling New Yorkers to "go shopping" after 9/11.

Clinton, introduced at the event by ex-prez hubby Bill, said Bush should have played a bigger role as the nation - and New York, in particular - struggled to heal.

"What were we asked to do? Go shopping," she said. "I think America is ready to be asked to do something besides 'go shopping.'

"We are still waiting to be asked to play a part."

At a news conference a day after the terrorist attacks, Bush declared, "We cannot let the terrorists achieve the objective of frightening our nation to the point where we don't conduct business, where people don't shop."

Clinton raised more than $1 million last night at the Sheraton New York Hotel where participants included Ron Howard, Chevy Chase and Ron Perelman.
