Two people who aren’t afraid to agree with Tony Bennett’s controversial comments about 9/11 are Bill Maher and Michael Moore.

Harking back on their own experiences of getting condemned for provocative statements, both Maher and Moore defended the singer’s 9/11 comments on Real Time Friday evening.

In reaction to panel guest John Avlon saying “he was offended” by Bennett’s statements and labeling them “bulls–t,” Moore came in to vehemently defend the 85 year old crooner.

“I’m not offended by what he said,” Moore said. “I think it was a brave thing to say, because what he was saying was much more complex. He wasn’t blaming and saying, ‘We’re responsible for our people getting killed.’”

Richard Belzer on Real Time with Bill Maher exposing the Federal Reserve plot to destroy the country and their roll in the assassination of JFK. Kennedy was assassinated on Nov 22nd, which is the anniversary of the day the Federal Reserve Act was composed on Jeckyll Island in 1910.

Maher lumps together 9/11 Truth with other "conspiracy" theories in this recent bit from his show.

For some years, HBOs satirical talk show host Bill Maher - of Real Time, has repeatedly vocalized his ill opinion on his weekly live cable television show, of those who question the governments account of the events of September 11th. Whether its directed against a Real Time guest or used as a punch line to his entertainment offerings, activists known as 9/11 Truthers have been lambasted as tin foil hat conspiracy theorists. But, then again, Bill Maher also publicly states the Twin Towers burned for more than two hours. This would make little impact on national opinion if it were not for Mahers impressive viewership numbers. Ratings are the mark of a TV man and Bill seems to be holding the high cards however, when it comes to documentation of what actually occurred on that tragic day and the alleged evidence that has since surfaced, it seems, the time has come for Maher to rethink his hand and callor fold.

This is from last year on Bill Maher's show, during an "Overtime" segment. I amended Bill Maher's question about Saudi involvement in terrorism and the Iraq insurgency after he mentioned that most of the 9/11 hijackers were Saudi. The word "patsies" seemed to clarify the matter quickly. Listen to Emanuel's response to the word "patsies." Sounds like an uncomfortable laugh. It happens a little after the 3 minute mark. Why did one word, "patsies," make Rahmbo jumpy enough to mistakenly call the House of Saud a "Shiite government"?

This Better Bad News piece I just ran into had me digging up the old series of "Bill Maher meets 9-11 truth" media archives. I think there is something to be learned about the media amidst all this. I just don't know what it is. Maybe we can figure it out being that we are moving into an intensely focused time for politics in the media.

On friday, Tavis Smiley schooled Bill Maher and guests on the depth and harder truth-telling nature of Martin Luther King Jr.'s messages. He reminded the panel that King spoke about God's judgment on America, American arrogance and also made the claim that his own government was the "greatest purveyor of violence in the world today." He finished up his train of thought by saying that "part of being a patriot means to stand as a truthteller and say what needs to be said." Amen Tavis!

Bill Maher, who apparently has never heard of William Pepper and the jury that, less than a decade ago, found elements of the US government guilty of a conspiracy to murder MLK, couldn't believe that Smiley was actually saying that "they" killed him.

Just ran into the clips of Bill Maher's 1st show back and there were some interesting moments to be had. Reflecting on last year, I still think his big interruption moment of 2007 was rejuvenative on all accounts. Yes, it could have been done with a little bit more finessing, but more important is that it was done. The perfect could have become the enemy of the good in this case. And it got people talking. We need more interruptions done strategically. What we want is people talking, debating, raising the issue. There are many fronts and faces in this challenge. The civil rights movement successfully found a place for the different strategies and styles of Rosa Parks, Malcolm X and MLK. Bill Maher and the rest of corporate media have a long election year ahead of them. It could get more interesting than anyone can imagine.

Bill Maher's Real Time is going back on the Air on January 11th, 2008. We might want to work as part of the "11th of every month" campaign and coordinate something special for the audience members to do again. What a way to kick off 2008.

It appears the good folks at HBO must have been extremely concerned that "Real Time" host Bill Maher was going to lose many of his viewers as a result of his tossing 9/11 truthers from the audience two weeks ago.

After all, Maher even admitted at the opening of the discussion segment of Friday's program, albeit almost apologetically, "I'm not going to pretend that we have ideological balance on this panel."

Ideological balance? Are you kidding?

There is quite a story about what happened to the man who was ejected forcibly. I got what I am writing first hand from the man involved. He does not want his name used.

Other demonstrators were escorted out, without incident. Because he was the first to speak out he bore the brunt of the anger from the people associated with the show. He saw people come down from the stage and head towards him. I had assumed that he was ejected by security guards but he tells me that most of the people ejecting him were crew people from the show. Some of them were well dressed and he assumed they were producers of some kind. He says there may have been one security guard in the "posse." that ejected him.

Once outside the show, on an outdoor balcony, near the ledge, he was taken to the ground roughly. He was handcuffed. Someone put a knee in his back to hold him down. He said they twisted him like a pretzel. It is fortunate he did not have serious injuries. By the way, he is not a large man. You might call him slight. He would appear to have grounds for a lawsuit

Bill's obstinance and refusal to debate 9/11 is a serious issue. It puts his credibility on the line. If he's so sure of himself, why won't he address the leading authors about the 9/11 cover up?

He also has taken the cowardly line, obfuscating the government cover up and lies about 9/11 with the one issue of controlled demolition. Forgetting that he's done nothing to actually disprove the demolition hypothesis, other than ad hominem childish attacks, he has yet to acknowledge that we really don't know what happened on 9/11 because it was completely covered up by the white house, and that the 9/11 commission report was an obvious farce.

One of Dr. Griffin's books documents 115 "Lies and Omissions" in that report. Other prominent writers and researchers should be invited to address these issues. Until that day, when we get a FAIR hearing, Bill will continue to feel the heat from the street.

Last friday, a week and a half after the delivering a you tube response to Bill Maher's assertion that 9-11 truthers needed Paxil (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BoJJIYWMZlY), a small group of LA WeAreChangers brought the heat to Maher's place of work, CBS Studios. They held signs, handed out info to people coming in and made some interesting contacts along the way. It remains to be seen who will give out first in this war of wit and attrition. John Edwards is gonna be on the show this friday. Who knows, maybe he'll have done his building 7 homework by then and come out on live TV as a proponent of controlled demolition. Dubious huh? Anything could happen. I heard Cheney said pigs were flying down in Wyoming. And anyone could be in that audience.

It strikes me as ironic and disingenious at best that Maher and Klein will discuss how the "Shock" of 911 was used to push a political and corporate agenda and not acknowedge PNAC.

Why is it OK with the left to talk about how goverment and corporations collude for finacial gain and/or to consolditate and project political power but never 911??

The policy of preemptive war was hatched by this group and no one in the mainstream left seems willing to admit that a temptation for a false flag event even exists? At a bare minimum LIHOP should be mentioned.

Connecting these dots seems so obvious to me and yet Bill takes a huge crap on 911 truthers then respectfully discusses the Shock Doctrine with Ms Klein!

Bill Maher has a commentary at The Huffington Post today, 10/12/07, that asks: "Have too many Americans become gullible, ill-informed idiots who have elevated feelings over facts and replaced critical thinking with a blind sense of trust for authority?"
His title for the piece is "Idiocracy".

I can't think of a more appropriate time to respond to Mr. Mahr's recent smearing of the 9/11 Truth Movement than to reply to his post with information regarding the truth about 9/11.
I suggest that people interested in educating Mr. Mahr do so with information rather than argument. With reason rather than emotion.
The opportunity exist right now, today, to send information to Mr. Maher and his readers.
The very premise of his opinion piece begs a response from our movement.

A couple weeks ago, I attended a Real Time w/ Bill Maher taping with a fellow 9-11 Truther from Southern California. Maher's guests were Rep. Rahm Emanuel, Michael Eric Dyson and Pete Hamill. I could not keep my opinions to myself, especially with Rahm Emanuel mincing words about very important issues. So I shouted out a few times. I guess it got to Maher since it reached a crescendo during the Overtime segment. Right after he mentioned the overwhelming Saudi make-up of the 9-11 hijackers, I yelled out "Patsies." At this point he called me a "loudmouth asshole" and told security to shut me up. While security was talking to me, he said he would come down and kick my ass if he had to, eliciting audience applause. I wish had heard that at the time since I would have told him to debate me instead. It's agreed also that next time, the words "Don't tazer me bro!" might be apppropriate and disarming. After being broadly denounced as "crazy people" by HBO's sharp-tongued Bill Maher, some members of the so-called 9/11 Truth movement -- a group convinced that US government accounts of the Sept. 11 tragedies do not fully explain the events of that day -- decided to give Maher a taste of his own caustic medicine.

In a new video making its rounds on the internet, one band of miffed Los Angeles-based "Truthers" borrows the graphics, theme music and trademark bite of Maher's popular "New Rules" segment to push back at the comedian's charges that conspiracy theorists are lunatics. "Crazy people are defined by acting crazy," activist Stewart Howe says in the clip, sitting alongside a Maher-esque video window depicting Fox News host Bill O'Reilly in a straight jacket. "9/11 Truthers," he continues, "are defined by a patriotic quest for the truth."

I think that Bill Maher is the most talented political pundit of this generation. Since he decided to exclude the right wing nuts from his show, he speaks with much greater credibility. However, his last show was disappointing to me when he essentially marginalized anyone who has doubts about the official 9/11 story. By focusing only upon the controlled demolition theory of the Twin Towers, he excluded a more viable discussion of the collapse of building # 7 that was not hit by anything but the debris from towers 1 and 2. He further criticized those who have other doubts about the official story by intimating that it is ridiculous to believe that our government would attack its own people.

For those who watch "REAL TIME" with Bill Maher have come to know him as a complete hypocrite when it comes to the government and 9/11. On one hand he constantly bashes the administration (and rightfully so) and lets everyone know who listens to him that he dislikes the president and the GOP. He does however choose to remain completely ignorant or in a state of denial that this government could have had anything to do with 9/11. This was made completely clear at the tail end of his show's most recent episode

How big a lunatic do you have to be to watch two giant airliners packed with jet fuel slam into buildings on live TV, igniting a massive inferno that burned for two hours, and then think 'Well, if you believe that was the cause...'

Stop asking me to raise this ridiculous topic on the show and start asking your doctor if Paxil is right for you."

Janeane Garofalo is scheduled to be on Bill Maher's HBO show next week. Bill has been on a pompous rant about the 9/11 "Conspiracy Theorists" and the need for us to be on Paxil. (if anyone can get the video of this weeks rant please post it) Janeane uttered the words 9/11 was an inside job on Conan recently, and I was hoping we could contact her and encourage her to bring up some rational, non-controversial points about the 9/11 Truth movement when she appears on his show next week.

For instance:
1) The United States' Air Defenses Stand Down on the morning of 9/11
2) The governments refusal to release the videotapes of the Pentagon Crash.
3) BBC reporting Building 7 collapse 20 minutes too early (thanks 911veritas!!)
4) etc etc.

If anyone can get her contact information... please post it. I looked but can't find an official blog or anything. I'm sure someone in our movement can get it.

Anyway. I don't know if Bill is a mossad agent or what, but he is being a petulant weak ass when it comes to discussing 9/11.

Let's hope Janeane can stand her ground a bit and make him confront the uncomfortable.
