The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) today released its final report on the Sept. 11, 2001, collapse of the 47-story World Trade Center building 7 (WTC 7) in New York City. The final report is strengthened by clarifications and supplemental text suggested by organizations and individuals worldwide in response to the draft WTC 7 report, released for public comment on Aug. 21, but the revisions did not alter the investigation team’s major findings and recommendations, which include identification of fire as the primary cause for the building’s failure.

The extensive three-year scientific and technical building and fire safety investigation found that the fires on multiple floors in WTC 7, which were uncontrolled but otherwise similar to fires experienced in other tall buildings, caused an extraordinary event. Heating of floor beams and girders caused a critical support column to fail, initiating a fire-induced progressive collapse that brought the building down.

A source connected to the previously+unreleased+footage of the collapse of WTC1 and WTC7 which suddenly appeared on internet video-sharing site Veoh.com last weekend has revealed details about the footage to The Corbett Report.

According to the source, the videos available on the internet come from a DVD that was compiled from raw footage taken in New York on September 11. The video on the internet has not been edited or manipulated in any way from the footage on the DVD, although the 'replay' of each collapse has been slowed down by 50 percent. The source indicated, however, that the raw footage had been edited before it was put on the DVD, thus explaining the sudden cut from a close-up of the North Tower to a long shot of the entire building with the collapse already underway.

The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) recently published their comments on the NIST draft for final report on WTC 7, as reported on 911Blogger.

CTBUH's comments and NIST's investigation are discussed on this+CTBUH+forum.

When one reads the exchanges, it becomes pretty obvious that DScott, the CTBUH Chairman, displays no interest at all in discussing any of the difficult questions raised by several posters about NIST's report and WTC 7 investigation.

This becomes even more obvious when one sees what kind of a "putsch" took place after I challenged DScott on the issue of evidence destruction, and after Chris Sarns of AE911Truth had concluded that NIST had changed their previous statements about the use of shear studs in girders in order to facilitate their latest theory.

All four of my posts and Chris' latest post were deleted and the discussion forum closed. On CTBUH's homepage it now reads "The forum on this topic has now closed, however, click here to read over the comments that were posted....."

NIST left out key words in a statement about shear studs so they could falsely claim that there were no studs on the key girder between columns 79 and 44.
This is critical to their collapse theory.

Mike Rudin, producer of the BBC 9/11 Hit-piece 'The Third Tower', recently posted an article called 'Caught up in a conspiracy theory', in response to a video I put out - WeAreChange Debunks the BBC at Ground Zero 9/11/08. In the article, he does not deny (or even attempt to explain, in some instances), the glaring misrepresentations, distortions, and omission that we called him out on at Ground Zero. He does not apologize (as many have called for) for repeatedly exhibiting poor journalistic ethics while covering the most controversial and important issue of our time. Instead he continues to dishonor the victims of 9/11 and insult the intelligence of the BBC audience by digging a deeper hole. Very well Mike Rudin, so be it.

The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) has published comments on the NIST WTC 7 Report. The CTBUH questions critical points of the NIST WTC 7 collapse theory and also highlights problems with the writing NIST report itself.

The CTBUH criticisms focus on two technical issues The conjectured failure of shear studs and bolts on the supposedly critical Column 79:

Several conclusions drawn in the NIST report on the contribution of structural
components in failure initiation are unexpected and have raised concerns
within the Council. These conclusions involve the role of both shear studs and
local global buckling of the floor beams in failure initiation. The Council
believes that the local connection performance was a significant part of the
global failure and would like to have seen a more explicit analysis of the
connection failure. (See also comment on Chapters 11-13.)

The Larry Silverstein quote "pull it", has for long been pending as a confession of a controlled demolition, among us, and in several videos.
Even though it could be interpreted as demolition-slang, I believe it is not plausible enough to be presented as a confession.

When firefighters abandon a building (pull people out), they do use the term 'pull it'. But this is not all. I find it extremely implausible, that the firefighters should have been able to do it, concerning time, experience, expertise and option.

I see it as the only logical conclusion, that the firefighters did not have a role in the demolition of WTC7, but that it must have been caused by pre-placed explosives. As thus the words "pull it", in the conversation between Silverstein and the fire-chief, must have meant pulling firefighters out.

My plea to you, fellow truthers, is to drop arguements like that. It makes more damage to our credibility, than it helps.

NIST has finally released its long awaited investigative report regarding the collapse of World Trade Center 7. WTC 7 was the third building in the World Trade Center Complex to collapse at 5:20 PM on September 11, 2001. However, this building was not hit by an airplane.

As family members of 9/11 victims, we were extremely interested in the findings of this report. We had hoped that NIST’s report would serve to explain the cause of a total collapse of a conventional steel building and be able to refute the rampant conspiracy theories. We also hoped that this report, in conjunction with NIST’s final reports on WTC 1 and 2, would offer recommendations for improved building and fire codes to ensure public safety in ALL buildings going forward.

While we feel that technical experts should review, critique and replicate the findings within this report, we also feel that we must express our concerns based on public comments by NIST regarding their findings.

Over the past seven years, the Families of the 9/11 Victims have been repeatedly told by fire experts, engineers and architects that we should NOT FOCUS our efforts on advocating for building and fire code changes based on the collapse of the WTC 1 and 2 towers. We were continuously reminded that the crashing of airplanes into buildings was a unique event. Additionally, we were told that the design and construction of WTC Towers 1 and 2 was unique and that there were no other buildings of that particular height or design in the world. We were repeatedly told that the key was WTC 7 since this building was of conventional design and height, yet it too collapsed without the unique event of an airplane striking it.

I've done a rebuttal to the german version of the BBC's "The Third Tower", called "Das Rätsel des dritten Turmes" broadcasted by german second television channel ZDF and their "ZDF history" format on 08/09/07.

I put all the infos we gathered together into it, and it's quite a devastating result for the ZDF- almost every claim they made was false, they used some of the same tricks like the BBC like the cut and fit for their needs of the Jennings testimony, but refused to use others, like the victims-mockery if you ask questions and refuse to believe the official narrative.

It's a 111 page .pdf with 3,7 MB, the making of the script (which the ZDF denied it has and so couldn't gave me) alone took me 4 days in a row.
My wife actually said I'm crazy. ;)

It's a good thing Salomon Brothers took such a huge lease on WTC seven because Silverstein was in a bit of a bind before the building was even completed. Originally a billion dollar deal was about to be completed where the entire building would be leased to Drexel Burnham Lambert. But it didn't work out when things went bad as the junk bond market tanked.

Shyam Sunder describes in the NIST technical briefing and the slide show/document titled;
NIST Response to the World Trade Center Disaster Federal Building and Fire Safety Investigation of the World Trade Center Disaster August 26, 2008
states on page 32: “Forces from thermal expansion failed the connection at Column 79, then pushed the girder off the seat.” [to the west]

In NCSTAR 1-9 Vol.1 page 353 [397 on pg counter] it says:
“Axial compression then increased in the floor beams, and at a beam temperature of 436 °C, the northmost beam began to buckle laterally. Buckling of other floor beams followed as shown in Figure 8–27 (a), leading to collapse of the floor system, and rocking of the girder off its seat at Column 79 as shown in Figure 8–27 [to the east]

Dylan Avery posed the question "Who writes this stuff?"

I can't say for sure but the evidence seems to point to one of the founding fathers.

1.0 Introduction

A preliminary (draft) version of NIST’s final report on the collapse of WTC 7 was issued on August 21st 2008 together with a call by NIST’s Investigation Team for the submission of comments on the Draft Report from interested parties within the general public. First I wish to thank NIST for producing such a detailed technical report on the collapse of WTC 7 and secondly, I applaud NIST for allowing researchers from around the world to offer technical feedback that hopefully will be duly considered by NIST before a final version of the report is issued.

Regarding the video:
Contrary to the August 2008 NIST report on WTC7, the acceleration of Building 7 has been measured and is found to be indistinguishable from the acceleration of gravity over a period of about 2.5 seconds during the fall. Freefall indicates zero resistance. It also indicates that the energy of the falling mass is not available to do work on the lower structure (i.e. such things as breaking, bending, crushing, etc.) A video detailing the measurement process and commenting on the results is posted on the AE911Truth YouTube channel, accessible through http://www.ae911truth.org/freefall. The video responds to the recently released NIST WTC7 document.

Perhaps we should invite David Scott, chairman of CTBUH, to a live open debate. He says he has examined the truth movement's claims and finds in our movement "no credibility whatsoever."

Government apologists have argued that WTC 7 took 13 or more seconds to collapse, thus disproving the "virtual free fall" argument. However, this argument entirely misses the point.

Why?

Because the videos show that the penthouse collapsed long before the main building. In fact, everyone admits that there was a delay of several seconds between the collapse of the penthouse and the collapse of the rest of the building.

"An object at rest tends to stay at rest". So once the movement stopped, it should have stayed stopped.

Therefore, the collapse of the main portion of building 7 - several seconds after the collapse of the penthouse stopped - should be treated as a discrete and new event (see discussion below).

The Landmark Tower was 380 feet high.

According to the timer on Youtube, it took about 7 seconds from the start of the collapse (once the building started to fall) until the last of the building reached the ground.

The fire on floor 12 is critical to the NIST hypothesis because the collapse of floor 13 in the north east corner of the building is supposedly the beginning of the initiating event that led to the implosion of WTC 7.

On page 383 of NIST NCSTAR 1-9 volume 1, the fire simulation graphic of floor 12 shows the fire conveniently burning around column 79 and then coming back to it at 5:00 p.m. The NIST fire simulation is not consistent with the photographs of the fire. The photographs show, and the NIST Appendix L report states, the fire on floor 12 had burned out by 4:45 p.m. In fact, it had burned out in the east end before 4:00 p.m.

Therefore, the fire did not cause floor 13 to collapse at 5:20 p.m. and the implosion of WTC 7 did not occur as NIST has proposed.
