A Message to the Choir from FBI Whistleblower

The Roberts Report

AUDIO INTERVIEW HERE
http://www.911truther.org/2010/01/cheri-roberts-interviews-coleen-rowley-115/

More than eight years after her story broke, FBI Whistleblower – Retired Special Agent Coleen Rowley, sat down with me to discuss her explosive May 2002 memo to FBI Director Robert Mueller on the pre 9/11 lapses into the investigation of Zacarias Moussaoui, her testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee and the 9/11 Commission, her appearance on the cover of Time magazine, the urgency of the Whistleblower Protection Act and the importance of unifying the 9/11 Truth movement.

From the woman who teaches ethics to the unethical, hear her irresistible call for unification. In a time of great division, unity is the key that can open the door of Truth. Leave the debates and investigations to the experts and focus on the common ground on which we all stand.

We all seek Truth, we all want answers, and we want to see justice finally served. That is the thread that ties us all together and we can have all of that if we have each other.

Reaction to Coleen Rowley on Real News Network: Where’s Wilshire?

The Real News Network recently carried an interview of former FBI lawyer Coleen Rowley by Paul Jay (part 1, part 2 and part 3), dealing with what it called the “unanswered questions about the lead up to 9/11.” Rowley was stationed at the bureau’s Minneapolis office during the Zacarias Moussaoui case in August and September 2001, but later became a whistleblower and left the organisation.

While many aspects of the interview are good and interesting, it leaves out what is probably the most important known fact about the Moussaoui case: the identity of the most senior FBI headquarters official fully involved in the case.

On the Record: Former FBI Agent Coleen Rowley Calls for a New 9/11 Investigation

Parts 2 and 3 of TheRealNews interview with Coleen Rowley are being reposted from Waarheid911’s blog entry of Part 1 on 10/23/2009. My comment there triggered a long discussion about controlled demolition, which unfortunately pushed these two important videos to the end of the section.

Leaving aside the issue of CD, on which she claims no expertise, Attorney Rowley discusses the importance of uncovering the “full truth” about 9/11 to reverse the overreactive policies of the Bush administration: preemptive war, torture, government spying and secrecy, and curtailment of civil liberties.

If we don’t demand accountability about how and why 9/11 happened, she explains, we set a dangerous precedent for this country, where torture becomes a loaded pistol left on the kitchen table for anyone to use down the road, and the people who authorized it are rewarded with promotions and lucrative careers.

Coleen Rowley: Action Needed Now [for Whistleblower Protections]

Coleen Rowley: Action Needed Now
Dear Friends,

Today is the 8th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. There are many ways that we can honor the lives lost and one of them is preventing it from happening again. Strong whistleblower protections for national security whistleblowers are the key.

I blew the whistle on the failure of the government to approve a search warrant for Zacarias Moussaoui, an al Qaeda operative who was attending flight school just weeks before the tragic attack. The flight school instructors had numerous concerns which matched up with intelligence from abroad.

Unfortunately as an FBI whistleblower, I learned the hard way what exposing this and other post 9-11 mistakes means to your career and your entire life.

Although I was honored by Time magazine in being named a Person of the Year for having blown the whistle on this terrible security lapse, I know of so many other national security whistleblowers that lost their jobs and livelihood simply by doing the right thing.

They need legal protection! They need it now!

Storm Troopers at the RNC

By Ray McGovern
September 8, 2008

Ten days ago, as the nation focused attention on the hurricane nearing the Mississippi delta, another storm was brewing far upstream in St. Paul, Minnesota — a storm far more dangerous, it turned out, but one by and large overlooked by the Fawning Corporate Media (FCM).

When I flew into St. Paul on the evening of Aug. 30, I encountered a din in local media about “preemptive strikes” on those already congregating there to demonstrate against the Iraq war and injustice against the poor in our country.

St. Paul’s Pioneer Press expressed surprise that “despite preemptive police searches” and arrests, a group calling itself “the RNC Welcoming Committee” was still intent on “disrupting the convention.”

9/11 Change: Yes We Should!

Recently, our government excluded the 9/11 victims' families from attending the arraignment of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and four other terror suspects at the military tribunal at Guantanamo Bay. Initially, none of the families, with the exception of ardent Bush supporter Debra Burlingame, were invited.

After this issue became public, the resultant furor caused Debra Burlingame to be dis-invited and a system was established whereby the 9/11 victims' families could observe future sessions via CCTV coverage at various military bases on the east coast. In addition, a lottery system was established so that selected family members, who may want to attend the trial at Guantanamo Bay, will be provided an opportunity to participate.

August 20-September 11, 2001: FBI’s Radical Fundamentalist Unit Unhelpful with Moussaoui Search Warrant
The FBI Minneapolis field office wishes to search Zacarias Moussaoui’s belongings, which will later be found to contain enough information to potentially stop 9/11 (see August 16, 2001). To do so it must get the approval of the Radical Fundamentalist Unit (RFU) at FBI headquarters. However, the RFU throws obstacles in the warrant request’s path:

  • RFU chief Dave Frasca stops the Minneapolis office from pursuing a criminal warrant (see August 21, 2001);
  • When French authorities discover that Moussaoui is connected to the Chechen rebels, RFU agent Mike Maltbie insists that the FBI representative in Paris go through all telephone directories in France to see how many Zacarias Moussaouis live there (see August 22, 2001);

Coleen Rowley: Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed neocons can destroy the world (if we let them)

At Huffington Post, FBI whistleblower Coleen Rowley has written a piece titled, Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed neocons can destroy the world (if we let them). While I recommend the entire editorial, here I will extract only this part:

"On page 362 of the Epilogue of his insightful book Chain of Command, Seymour Hersh asked the question back in 2004 that I predict will become the major question all historians will have to answer: "How did they do it? How did eight or nine neoconservatives who believed that a war in Iraq was the answer to international terrorism get their way? How did they redirect the government and rearrange long-standing American priorities and policies with so much ease? How did they overcome the bureaucracy, intimidate the press, mislead the Congress, and dominate the military? Is our democracy that fragile?""

The answer, Coleen, is simple: 9/11.
