MUNSTER | An architect who questions the official story behind the collapse of the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001, spoke to a receptive audience Monday night at the Center for the Visual and Performing Arts in Munster.

Richard Gage, founder of Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth, appeared at the behest of Liberty Straight Up, an activist group and social organization in favor of limited government. It has members who live in Lake, Porter and LaPorte counties.

Gage is on tour to promote his group's position that the fall of the World Trade Center in New York City during the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks had all the earmarks of a controlled demolition. Neither fire nor the impact of two airplanes was enough to bring down the Twin Towers, he said.

During a multimedia presentation, Gage said he was less concerned with the motives for the destruction and the people behind it than with what he said is the science behind the collapse.

“We want a new investigation that incorporates all the evidence,” he said.

As a 9/11 truth activist, I read a fair amount of what is written about 9/11--whether in the mainstream media, the alternative media, or on sites that I have learned to trust. Frequently the comments are polarized: those of us who know the awful truth and another group, much angrier, seemingly younger and MUCH less well educated: those who are enraged that anyone would even SUGGEST that the government lied to us about 9/11.

Who are these people who are apparently oblivious to the hundreds of well documented lies from the Bush administration?

Here's a clue. A company that advertises blog armies to "flood the zone with comments from professionals who are ready to put your talking points on the blogosphere 24/7." Next time you're engaged in a nasty debate with a devotee of the OCT, who seems to have unlimited amounts of time to rebut your every point in the most scathing way possible, you might just be arguing with a member of one of these paid blog armies.

A lot of people are upset with the change to moderated comments at 911Blogger. While it wasn't my decision, I fully support it.

Here's why.

DZ and the other moderators long considered switching the comments off altogether. One of the reasons is that some people are causing disruption and infighting instead of actually contributing anything (such as information, activist ideas, etc.)

Another reason is that the moderators have felt that there is a real danger that hate speech by posters might be attributed to the site, which could end up shutting down the site (see Reprehensor's comment below).

So, while DZ ran the site, he periodically considered discontinuing comments. And when DZ retired from the site, we again considered yanking the comments altogether (FWIW: I've always argued for keeping comments). However, we are trying a less draconian measure: moderating comments.

I'm sure most of you have read the Christopher Hayes piece "Is 9/11 Paranoia Bad for the Country?" that was originally in The Nation.

It was also posted on AlterNet where I used to waste way too much time. In the past 48 hours it has had over 700 comments posted on it, many more and much faster than I've seen there before. A great many of the comments on the article attack it for being the obvious hit piece that it is and there are the usual hard working shills and disinfo types trying to counter the facts stated in many of the comments.

What I find especially noteworthy is that the article states that the 9/11 Truth Movement is in fact a genuine political Movement and needs to be confronted as such. To me this is yet another signal that the MSM and thus the perps they work for are now starting to fully comprehend that we can't be ridiculed away and that they must fight us more openly before our numbers increase too much further and we reach the tipping point. I believe that there is a pretty solid third of the American population that have accepted either MIHOP or LIHOP and that we are now fighting the perps for the all important middle third of the American people.

We gets lots of comments submitted at the Blogger which aren't really news and therefore don't get posted. Most of the submissions are positive and thought provoking, however, we occasionally receive a negative submission which tend to be pretty funny. Anyway, thought I'd post a few of them here for everyone to read:

9/11 and Bush

Before 9/11 ever happened, and GW Bush was voted into office, I had a sense of foreboding. Perhaps it was just the political education I had received and researched through the years which was aided by my church and my political affiliation with an anti-communist group. But I knew the Bushes were bad news, diabolical plotters. When 911 happened i thought they were going to surely use this event as a historical flashpoint to bring about fear and more controlling measures. I even feared they had orchestrated this event. By reading and looking at various web site information, I think that the evidence is conclusive. May the Lord of Mercy shield us from further attacks, save our lives and our freedom, and bring swift justice to the guilty perpetrators of the crime of the century.

I don't know who associated with this site is responsible for the banner that was put up over I-630 yesterday insinuating that 9/11 was an "inside job", but whoever did is completely devoid of any intellectual capacity. what sort of morons are you? how dare you put up something so insensitive and appalling on the very day we are to honor the ones who are fallen. whoever you are, you need to grow the fuck up and quit coming up with all this anti-Bush bullshit. he's not the enemy. terrorists don't care what party you belong to and you need to get a fucking clue. have a nice day.
