Democracy Now! Ignores Zionism When Discussing Norway Shooter's Motive

In a feature story presented by Democracy Now! Amy Goodman and her guests offer extensive analysis of the political make-up and motive for Norway shooting suspect Anders Behring Breivik, but fail to point out one crucial, relevant component: Zionism.

Alternative Media Censorship: Sponsored by CIA's Ford Foundation, and others

Here is some information that may be helpful in figuring out just why the popular alternative media sites have censored 9/11 truth information.  I have no proof, no evidence, but I think this should be considered as a possible reason for the blockout of the important and scholarly research that many in the 9/11 truth movement have presented.

ALTERNATIVE MEDIA CENSORSHIP:
SPONSORED BY CIA's FORD FOUNDATION?

by bob feldman

The mass-circulation weekly TEMPO accused Ford of having once played, at the urging of the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency, a covert role in Indonesian political affairs by consciously supporting the work of individuals who were deemed to be sympathetic to the anti-communist aims of American foreign policy.

Alternative Media and Ahamadinejad's Speech. Total Silence! Total Censorship.

I have just perused some of the most popular "alternative" media sites this Saturday morning to see what is being written about Ahmadinejad's speech at the UN this week.
Seems like complete avoidance.
Censorship is a better word.
While the msm at least covered the story, the alternative media has avoided the story, hoping it would go away. They are, it seems, under strict guidelines to not mention 9/11 truth or any of the evidence that conflicts with the official story of 9/11.

I looked at Alternet, CommonDreams, Truthout, DemocracyNow, Counterpunch, antiwar.com.
I did see a small mention of the speech on DemocracyNow, as part of their news rundown. No details.
I didn't see anything on antiwar.com's listing of headlines around the world that normally would have had information about the speech.

Update on NYC 9/11 Ballot Initiative

Update on NYC 9/11 Ballot Initiative
Les Jamieson reports: Big Week For NYC 9/11 Ballot Initiative

History was made on Tuesday, June 17th with the appearance of former Sen. Mike Gravel on Democracy Now with Amy Goodman. Doug Wight, Jose Rodriguez (Sen. Gravel's assistant) and I were there in the studio. It was an amazing experience, being that we've tried so hard for so long to get decent coverage on Democracy Now. I was totally pleased with Amy's detailed setup of the interview. She basically explained what the Initiative is about, articulating that there is this effort calling for a new 9/11 investigation. It was apparent that she was well studied on this and new just what to say. Sen. Gravel got in some good sound bites. He could have gone into more depth, but considering his flight from CA the night before was delayed 2 hours which caused him to get only 3 hours sleep, I have to give him kudos for what he did get across. Here are some direct results of the broadcast:

Video: Former U.S. Senator Mike Gravel Endorses NYC 9/11 Ballot Initiative on Democracy Now - June 17, 2008

(This video is now currently linked on the front page of Infowars, which will help kick it to a broader viewership. If you have a website that you can mirror this YouTube video at, please do. In this video, Gravel makes some great observations about the Pentagon Papers, government secrecy, the umbrella of whistleblower protection that Congressmen have, [but never use], and about running as a Libertarian. Much more than just a 9/11 statement. Help be the new media. -rep.)

The former Democratic senator from Alaska discusses his presidential campaign, his role in the releasing of the Pentagon Papers and his support for NYC 9/11 Ballot Initiative Campaign, a grassroots group seeking to place an initiative on the ballot of the November 6th general election allowing registered New York City voters to create a new commission to investigate 9/11. [includes rush transcript]

Guest:

Sen. Mike Gravel, former Democratic senator from Alaska, who served two terms from 1969 to 1981, and a former candidate in the 2008 presidential election.

9/11 Ballot Initiative Campaign

Former Presidential Canidate Mike Gravel to Promote NYC 9/11 Ballot Initiative on Democracy Now

Tune in to Democracy Now on Tuesday June 17th! Amy Goodman will interview Mike Gravel regarding the NYC 9/11 Ballot Initiative as well as his recent books. If you're in NYC area, tune in to WBAI 99.5 FM at 9am. It's also available on MNN and other cable networks. Outside of NYC, go to www.democracynow.org to stream it, find your local radio or cable news outlet, or read the transcript.

Sen. Gravel is extremely passionate about this campaign. Here's a direct quote:

“It is essential for the people of New York City to bring about a new Commission,” said former Senator Mike Gravel. “This possibly will be the only opportunity that we will have to hold George Bush and Dick Cheney legally accountable for their actions on and after the Sept. 11th attacks. This is a great opportunity that we must not squander. To all New York City voters, please sign the petition for this historic ballot initiative. For those of you in the rest of the U.S. who desire truth, justice, and accountability for 9/11, please contact anyone you know in New York City to download the petition, volunteer and donate at www.nyc911initiative.org.”

The following is a two-part transcript on the 9/11 Commission Report recently conducted by Democracy Now!. The first explores the role that Karl Rove may have played in influencing the report's findings, and the second looks at how information gained through torture form a major part of of the 9/11 Commission Report.

Former 9/11 Commission Chief Philip Zelikow on Allegations He Secretly Allowed Karl Rove & White House to Influence 9/11 Probe

Philip Shenon, author of The Commission: The Uncensored History of the 9/11 Investigation, recently suggested on Democracy Now! that Philip Zelikow, the executive director of the 9/11 Commission, sought to minimize the Bush administration's responsibility for failing to prevent the September 11th attacks. Shenon also revealed that Karl Rove repeatedly called Zelikow during the probe. In the following interview, Zelikow responds in his first broadcast interview since the publication of Shenon’s book.

Earlier in the week, we spoke to Philip Shenon, author of “The Commission: The Uncensored History of the 9/11 Investigation.” Shenon suggested that Philip Zelikow—the executive director of the 9/11 Commission—sought to minimize the Bush administration’s responsibility for failing to prevent the September 11th attacks. Shenon also revealed that Karl Rove repeatedly called Zelikow during the probe. Today Zelikow responds in his first broadcast interview since the publication of Shenon’s book.

Democracy Now! Interviews Phillip Shenon, Tuesday, Feb 5, 2008

Amy Goodman of Democracy Now! interviews Phillip Shenan for approximately 30 minutes during its tuesday broadcast. Although I have not read his book, "The Commission: The Uncensored History of the 9/11 Investigation", I have to applaud his mention of several important conflicts of interest to do with Phillip Zelikow, (well known to the 9/11 Truth Movement at large as revealed by David Ray Griffin in his criticisms of the commission), especially his extensive relationship with Condoleeza Rice-- National Security Council staff colleagues, coauthoring of a book, and comembers of the National Security Council transition team.

How Convenient (Alberto Gonzales, et al.)

How convenient that Alberto Gonzales told the "truth" (supposedly) at the congressional hearing AFTER he was put under oath.

It's pretty funny that "protesters" sang Steam's "Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye" at the end.

And 50+ "I do not recall"'s.

It doesn't get any better than this. (except Wolfowitz's B.S. — and all of the others, and the future events to come that haven't come out yet)

"Democracy Now" with Amy Goodman covered this very well. (as usual)

When my paranoia kicks in, I can't help but wonder if the Virginia Tech shooting incident was an attempt to pull the media away from this. But it didn't last long enough. Perhaps someone miscalculated. Or perhaps it truly has no relationship.

Democracy NOW! - Counterpunch & 9/11 - "Cheering Movers and Art Student Spies" - UPDATE 3 - Video

The LINK TV broadcast featured an additional 8 minutes of commentary after the regular Democracy NOW! broadcast, linked below. The additional segment looks at Carl Cameron's piece a bit more, and Ketcham reveals that his FOX sources told him that Abe Foxman (ADL) put pressure on FOX's parent company, NEWSCORP to shut down Cameron's investigation.

Cheering Movers and Art Student Spies: Was Israel Tracking the Hijackers Before the 9/11 Attacks?

A new article in the newsletter Counterpunch examines unresolved questions over whether Israeli agents were tracking the 9/11 hijackers before September 11th. ABC’s 20/20, The Forward, and Salon.com have all covered the story. But where’s the follow up? We speak to the author of the article, Christopher Ketcham; Counterpunch editor Alexander Cockburn, and Marc Perelman, the Forward reporter who did one of the first reports on the story in 2002.

Were Israeli agents tracking the 9/11 hijackers before September 11th? In 2002, ABC’s 20/20 Salon.com and The Jewish newspaper The Forward all did this story. But where’s the follow up?

Freelance journalist Christopher Ketcham has just published a comprehensive piece on this story in the newsletter Counterpunch. The article highlights various interconnected stories: The five Israeli “movers” who witnesses say were cheering after the first plane struck the World Trade Center; the so-called Israeli art students who were living in concentrated areas where hijackers were living around the United States and how two of the hijackers ended up on the Watch List weeks before 9/11.

Christopher Ketcham, the author of the article, joins us on the line from upstate New York. Alexander Cockburn also joins us on the line. He is the editor of Couterpunch where the piece is published. And with us here in the firehouse studio is Marc Perelman he is the reporter who did one of the first reports on the story for The Forward in 2002.

* Marc Perelman. Diplomatic Correspondent for The Forward. He broke the story about Israeli spies in 2002.

* Alexander Cockburn. Editor of Counterpunch.

* Christopher Ketcham. Freelance journalist. Author of “What Did Israel Know in Advance of the 9/11 Attacks?” in the latest edition of CounterPunch’s print newsletter.

Journalist Wayne Barrett discusses Giuliani's 9/11 performance on Democracy Now!

Journalist Wayne Barrett discussed Rudy Giuliani's run for president and his performance on 9/11, on+Democracy+Now+yesterday. From the transcript:

"I can tell you, having just written the book, about Giuliani's performance on 9/11, that there’s a lot of 9/11 families who are outraged by his performance. You don't have to rely on me. Tom Kean and Lee Hamilton, in their own book, which came out simultaneous with mine, reported that the biggest failing of the 9/11 Commission was how they treated Giuliani at that May 2004 hearing, where they gave him a pass on every question, let him tell the same anecdotal speech he usually gets paid $100,000 to tell. And so, they said that because the families were so outraged at the pass that he was given -- and they wrote this in their own book -- they cancelled the buses to the final hearing in July or June in 2004 down in Washington. Hundreds of families that were expected to go cancelled, because they were so offended by the way in which the 9/11 Commission treated the families.

Rudy has, I’m sure, some families he can turn to that will support him for president. But there are many families who I’ve talked to in the course of reporting this book who were outraged by his performance. I mean, the city was about as prepared for that attack, despite the 1993 bombing, as apparently the Giuliani campaign was prepared for some sort of a security leak from their campaign."

911 And The Left: Two More Interviews From The Democracy Now Fundraiser :9/11/06 New York City

These last two interviews are with a young man and woman that were working at the vending tables stationed outside the auditorium
Both of them made their living working for the "progressive" media, so our discussions were much longer and little more heated.
I'm sure we've all have had similar conversations within our own local antiwar/antiglobalization/activist communities.(Thanks, Chomsky!!!!!!)
In these interviews I continued to stay away from a debate on the evidence and stick with the general theme of Left Media and The role of 911 Truth.
Enjoy!

Second Interview
(unfortunately, this second interview got cut short because I ran out of film, but our conversation did continue for some time..We started debating so loud that security came and asked us to stop immediately or take it outside.)

911 Truth and the Left: Barrie Zwicker and Radical Pragmatist Attend a Book Release party for Amy Goodman 9/11/06

This all started when I found out that Amy Goodman was having a book release party in NY City at Cooper Hall on 9/11. This was the same Cooper Hall that was hosting the 911 Truth Break Out on 9/10! This was also the same Amy Goodman of Democracy Now who had blatantly ignored 911 Truth for over five years, except for one interview with David Ray Griffin in 2003. An interview in which her suprise guest Chip Bartlet, openly attacked Dr. Griffin's personal credibility while avoiding the deeper questions about 911 that Dr. Griffin eloquently and clearly presented. In addition, Amy's co-host, Juan Gonzales had been one of the first and most out spoken reporters to investigate the horrible health effects and lies about the toxic dust from ground zero, yet he too had remained silent on the larger facts and questions presented by the 911 Truth movement.

These were the classic left gate keepers that Barrie Zwicker writes about in his new book "Towers of Deception". I wanted to know why they avoided 911 Truth and what the other 'progressive' volunteers and attendants at the event thought about 911 Truth and Democracy Now's handling or non-handling of the subject. I was determined to go and ask these questions.
