Questions should be asked about the science behind the falling of the World Trade Center buildings 10 years ago, panelists agreed Tuesday night.
The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga hosted the event, "The Science of 9/11," which began with a moment of silence for the families who lost loved ones.
The discussion "is an opportunity to illustrate the application of the scientific method to a real life event that most Americans remember exactly where they were," said UTC professor of anthropology Lyn Miles, one of the event's coordinators.
There are also more than 1,500 architects and engineers who have raised scientific questions over the collapse of the World Trade Center and are calling for a full investigation of 9/11, and it's worthwhile to discuss why, she added.
The school showed the documentary "Architects & Engineers 9/11 Truth," also the name of the nonprofit that says the collapse of the buildings was not caused by the impact of the planes but by explosives or controlled demolition.
Close to 300 people attended the event, many university students, who often cheered the comments made from one of the panelists, David Johnson, a University of Tennessee at Knoxville urban planning professor emeritus and urban engineering expert, who also calls for a new investigation of what happened on that day when almost 3,000 people were killed.

Ahead of the seventh anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks, some New York City students took part today in a nationwide pilot program about educating youth about the attacks.
To kick off discussion of the anniversary, the National September 11th Memorial and Museum showed a short film called "9/11: Stories of Survival and Loss" to students at Millennium High School in Lower Manhattan. The eight-minute piece recounts the attacks from the perspectives of family members, survivors, and rescue workers, like retired Fire Lieutenant and 9/11 first responder Mickey Kross.
The memorial and museum is also working to identify teachers across the country to create a curriculum about the attacks.
A symposium is being held in Jersey City July 1 on how to teach 9/11; while i pity the teachers that will attempt to teach the OCT to a generation avidly embracing the internet and wise to reality, critical thinking and the corporate govt/media conflicts and agenda, it is disturbing seeing well-funded attempts like this to indoctrinate the younger generations, the future of our nation, our posterity with evil lies. Similar to ABC's Path to 9/11 attempting to team up with Scholastic- they failed on the joint venture, i think- due to public outcry. Submit your comments if you have children and you care about the quality of their education, or if you don't have kids and just care about the health of society and the future of humanity.

The Wire, a complex and critically acclaimed HBO television series about the ways in which human systems are doomed to fail, never found a huge audience. By contrast, the Law & Order and CSI franchises, in which a simple conspiracy is at the base of every crime, are multibillion-dollar entertainment properties. The Da Vinci Code outsold every novel ever written about the problem of faith. In recent years, the controversy around who shot John F. Kennedy has overshadowed anything he said or accomplished during his presidency.
Established as a result of Bush's New Freedom Initiative, the New Freedom Commission was created "to examine specific aspects of mental health services and offer recommendations for improvement." As a result, new guidelines were created for the mandatory psychological testing and, if needed, forced medication of every public school student in the United States, without parental notification or consent.

This week Visibility 9-11 welcomes one of the co-founders of 911truth.org, Nicholas Levis. Nick began to question the official story of 9-11 shortly after the tragedy and is a veteran of the 9-11 movement.
In this episode, Nick talks about the formation of 911truth.org and some of the current challenges facing the 9-11 movment. Disinformation, misinformation, and ad-hominem attacks against 9-11 activists are topics discussed in this educational and informative discussion that all 9-11 activists need to become informed about.

The History Channel has produced a documentary titled 9/11 Conspiracies – Fact or Fiction. It aired on Monday, August 20, 2007. According to the abstract, the documentary examines the various conspiracy theories espoused on the Internet, in articles and in public forums that attempt to explain the 9/11 attacks. It includes theories that the World Trade Center was brought down by a controlled demolition; that a missile, not a commercial airliner, hit the Pentagon; and that members of the U.S. government orchestrated the attacks in hopes of creating a war in the Middle East. Each conspiracy argument is countered by a variety of experts in the fields of engineering, intelligence and the military. The program also delves into the anatomy of such conspiracies and how they grow on the Internet.
Even the abstract is a lie.
As we all know, one of the major stumbling blocks to this movement is getting professionals and scholars to
take that chance and come out in their support of the fact based belief that we were lied to about the actual
events of September 11th, 2001. Understandably, they are fearful that they may have to incur some of the slings
and arrows that many of the others who have risked everything to speak to these accusations. Many of these
people that we need so badly to stand up and speak rely on the government for their livelihood and their career.
Without the government they would have very little means of income. The government employs them in one way
or another and speaking to these accusations requires far more than just knowledge and resolve.
We need to take back of control in a manner that we can control the fate of some of these people willing to
speak out. If we could guarantee these people a place of refuge for their careers then they would be far more
likely to break away from the confines of their government sponsored careers.
We need to get the scholars to get together and create a university. Getting accreditation is not that difficult
The second Zogby poll commissioned by 911truth.org, this one nationwide, allows a number of revealing conclusions, despite its failure to ask the crucial question of complicity that showed in the first (August 2004) poll that 49.3% of New York City dwellers, and 40.9% throughout the state, agreed that “some leaders in the U.S. government knew in advance that attacks were planned on or around September 11, 2001, and that they consciously failed to take action.”
Nevertheless, the re-wording of the question about WTC 7 in the second poll and the inclusion of a question about media performance, as well as the addition of the category of “educational level” in the statistical breakdown, provide a useful illustration of the relationship between the mainstream press, education, and the propaganda function of both in America today on issues of political importance.
The propaganda function of “the news” is easily demonstrated. People were asked how they would rate “the US media’s performance regarding 9/11.” 42.8% thought the coverage was good or excellent.
