What gives Chertoff the right to tell the country that he has a “gut” feeling that we’re going to be hit with a terrorist attack this summer?

“Summertime seems to be appealing to them,” he said of al-Qaeda. “We do worry that they are rebuilding their activities.”

Still, Chertoff said there are not enough indications of an imminent plot to raise the current threat levels nationwide. And he indicated that his remarks were based on “a gut feeling” formed by past seasonal patterns of terrorist attacks, recent al-Qaeda statements, and intelligence he did not disclose. There is an assessment “not of a specific threat, but of increased vulnerability,” he added.

The West needs more terror attacks on the scale of 9/11 and 7/7 in order to save a failing foreign policy, according to Lt.-Col. Doug Delaney, chair of the war studies program at the Royal Military College in Kingston, Ontario.

"The key to bolstering Western resolve is another terrorist attack like 9/11 or the London transit bombings of two years ago. If nothing happens, it will be harder still to say this [the occupation of Iraq] is necessary" Delaney told the Toronto Star.

Prisonplanet.com asks, "By this logic, if terrorist attacks only boost the geopolitical agenda of Western governments then how is it in their interest to prevent them?"

Similarly, former Republican Senator Rick Santorum predicted this past weekend that "unfortunate events" would occur that will change Americans' views of the war.

And, "Last month, the new chairman of the Arkansas Republican Party Dennis Milligan said that there needed to be more attacks on American soil for President Bush to regain popular approval."

Thanks, guys, but can this wait?

Yesterday, on the Hugh Hewitt show, former PA Senator Rick Santorum made references to learning the lessons of 9-11 and the recent 'attacks' in England. Then when asked by Hewitt whether he felt the leading Republican Presidential candidates were speaking with enough "seriousness" about the war, Santorum proceeded to say that alot was going to change in the next year.

After Congresswoman Maxine Waters delivered a fiery speech at the impeachment rally this 4th of July in Los Angeles (which, with much thanks due to Peter Thottam of www.911truthla.net and www.bcimpeach.com, was a great success), I followed up with her and attempted to get her to go deeper on the way to her car. I asked her to respond to Zbigniew Brzenzski's warning to Congress in February that war with Iran would be provoked through an attack in the Middle East or in the U.S. blamed on Iran, subsequently hurtling the U.S. into a "defensive" attack. With the anniversary of the London 7/7 bombings coming up this weekend, I also asked her to go on record as a public official who decries the use of false-flag terror events such as 9-11, 3-11 and 7-7 as a horrific form of statecraft. Although she spun away from directly answering these questions, she spoke firmly about pursuing diplomacy with Iran and the consequences of starting something that would quickly spin out of control. I followed up as we got to her car by asking her, "And Brzenzski, we need to pay attention to his warning right?" and she said "Yes we do." Then I handed her the WeAreC.H.A.N.G.E. pamphlet.

Sure sounds like they're setting up the public's mind for a domestic nuclear event. The comments over at RawStory are pretty well informed. This kind of set-up is exactly what we should be fearing most -- even more than the actual event, as horrific as it is likely to be -- because unless we can pre-empt the corporate media, they sheeple will just fall in line again. On the other hand, it's quite possible that we already have a majority on our side -- the media just isn't doing any polling that would reveal that, so we tend to think we're still just a fringe movement (see second link below).

On Thursday, FBI Director Robert Mueller spoke to CBS News about his fears of a nuclear terror attack, saying, "Terrorists, al Qaeda, bin Laden have sought nuclear materials for a number of years now." One could very well speak in the same vein of the entity called the Central Intelligence Agency. It might be useful if the federal government (once thrown back into its constitutional cage, of course) had an agency devoted to collecting relevant intelligence, rather than what it has now – a body involved in propagating turmoil, terror, and subversion throughout most of the world.

While this reporter accepts the official version of 9/11, he at least expresses skepticism over the recent "terror plot" arrests and provides good reasons not to trust informants.

Some of the more spectacular anti-terrorism busts of the last few months have these elements in common:

Announcements laced with scary, end-of the-world warnings -- usually cast in the secretly taped words of the alleged plotters -- and crowds of law enforcement suits huddled close together so they all can get inside the TV camera lens as they warn of what might have been if they hadn't been so diligent.

A collection of unlikely suspects, ranging from Haitian stoners in Florida to a Central Jersey pizza deliveryman to a barely literate former airport employee.

In his first interview as the chairman of the Arkansas Republican Party, Dennis Milligan told a reporter that America needs to be attacked by terrorists so that people will appreciate the work that President Bush has done to protect the country.

"At the end of the day, I believe fully the president is doing the right thing, and I think all we need is some attacks on American soil like we had on [Sept. 11, 2001]," Milligan said to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, "and the naysayers will come around very quickly to appreciate not only the commitment for President Bush, but the sacrifice that has been made by men and women to protect this country."

Milligan, who was elected as the new chair of the Arkansas Republican Party just two weeks ago, also told the newspaper that he is "150 percent" behind Bush in the war in Iraq.

In his acceptance speech on May 19th, Milligan told his fellow Republicans that it was "time for a rediscovery of our values and our common sense."

Amazing new article from the Jerusalem Post has Shin Bet organizing Palestinian patsies for a hijacking circa 1976.

"According to his information, the hijack was the work of the PFLP, with help from the Israeli Secret Service, the Shin Bet," he wrote.

"The operation was designed to torpedo the PLO's (Palestine Liberation Organization) standing in France and to prevent what they see as a growing rapprochement between the PLO and the Americans."

The Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) may have been involved in the hijack of an Air France plane in 1976 by Palestinian terrorists, according to newly declassified British government documents released Friday.

Some 100 passengers were held by hijackers at Entebbe airport in Uganda during an eight-day ordeal that concluded when General Staff Reconnaissance Unit (Sayeret Matkal) troops stormed the building where captives were held.

24 people died in the shoot-out, including three hostages, 20 Ugandans and the commander of the rescue team, Yoni Netanyahu.

The mainstream media is now acknowledging "Operation Northwoods", a (declassified) secret plan to kill innocent civilians: The objective was to "create a useful wave of indignation", blame Fidel Castro for the civilian deaths, with a view to building a pretext to invade Cuba.

This sounds familiar does it not? Northwoods was a dress rehearsal of 9/11. A mass casuality producing event involving citizens is used to galvanize public support for waging war on Afghanistan in 2001.

While 911 researchers have extensively analysed the logic of Operation Northwoods, its links to 9/11 and its role in the construction of the "Global War on Terrorism" the mainstream media has largely remained silent.
