How economic depression leads to fascism: history to Austria, warning to America
hyperlinks and video live at source: http://www.examiner.com/x-18425-LA-County-Nonpartisan-Examiner~y2010m1d2...
Kitty Werthmann was born in Austria in 1925; her family experienced the depression-era economy and her nation’s desperate embrace of Nazi fascism. Today, she tells her story to all who will listen. Her audio testimony is transcribed below.
As a teacher of US Government classes with an Ed.M from Harvard, I can tell you that the defining US policies are now fascist and not those of a constitutional republic. This conclusion from understanding basic definitions of political theory requires only a high school-level understanding, the time to examine the objective facts of US policies, and the intellectual integrity and moral courage to tell the truth.
Therefore, the topic of this article is not US descent into fascism, but rather a warning about consolidation of fascist power as a "solution" presented to desperate Americans facing economic depression caused by the fascists themselves.

2008 film "Valkyrie": message to today's US military, government and public to end unlawful US wars
9/11 Blogger readers: I've added to all my articles henceforth a "Comment policy" to address our PSYOPS friends that you may find of interest at the end of the article. A strategy for all of us to consider is inviting their "Scrooge conversion" and become powerful allies from their positions on the inside. Wouldn't the irony be beautiful if the downfall of our fascist self-appointed "masters" would initiate from a controlled demolition as an inside job? In fact, I'll post a separate blog on this topic to welcome your ideas; but it is below and on all subsequent work for your consideration.

Absorb MLK’s wisdom for ending immoral US wars: 2-minute video from "A time to break silence"
hyperlinks and video live at source: http://www.examiner.com/x-18425-LA-County-Nonpartisan-Examiner~y2010m1d1...
The US government assassinated Dr. Martin Luther King; this is the verdict of the only trial of his murder and in agreement with his late widow, Coretta Scott King, family, and Dr. King’s friend and attorney, William F. Pepper.
Their analysis is that a fascist and dominating faction within the power structure dominating both political parties assassinated the Nobel Prize-winning leader for civil and human rights to prevent his planned summer march and camp-in of Washington D.C. in the summer of 1968 to demand ending the Vietnam War and fully funding domestic programs for the economic and educational advancement of Americans.
The speech that MLK’s family believe initiated government plans to silence Dr. King was delivered a year to the day before his assassination, Beyond Vietnam: A time to break silence. The speech was recorded; two-minutes are artistically played for your consideration below. The speech link contains text and the full recorded speech.

MLK assassinated by US government: King family civil trial 1999 decision. Why didn’t you know this?
hyperlinks and video live at source: http://www.examiner.com/x-18425-LA-County-Nonpartisan-Examiner~y2010m1d1...
Martin Luther King’s family and his attorney, William F. Pepper, won a civil trial that found US government agencies guilty in the wrongful death of Martin Luther King. The 1999 trial, King Family versus Jowers and Other Unknown Co-Conspirators, is the only trial ever conducted on the assassination of Dr. King. The King family’s attempts for a criminal trial were denied, as suspect James Ray’s recant of what he claimed was a false confession was denied.
King’s family and Mr. Pepper allege that Dr. King’s speech calling upon America to end the Vietnam War, Beyond Vietnam: A time to break silence, and his plan for a 500,000 camp-in for Washington, D.C. in the summer of 1968 were a threat to dominant and fascist political factions within US government.
National Guard ad revives Nazi oath to Hitler: "Always place mission first," not US Constitution
hyperlinks and videos live at source: http://www.examiner.com/x-18425-LA-County-Nonpartisan-Examiner~y2010m1d4...
In 2003, the US Army adapted the “Soldier’s Creed” to program soldiers to shift their Oath of Enlistment from “support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic,” to the heel-clicking, non-thinking, dictator-obeying, “I will always place the mission first.” This fascist propaganda is highlighted in the National Guard’s new 2-minute ad playing in movie theaters, shown below.
Brain-washing soldiers to place the mission first, that is, “just follow orders” given by der Fuehrer (“the leader” in German) rather than being responsible for obeying the Constitution and laws of war dramatizes the US shift into fascism.
Nazi German soldiers had such an oath:

If US government says an American citizen is a "terrorist," the Constitution is gone, torture is on
hyperlinks and videos live at source: http://www.examiner.com/x-18425-LA-County-Nonpartisan-Examiner~y2010m1d2...
An American citizen with a bachelor’s degree from 2003 earned from Brooklyn College in Political Science protested as a student against US wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. He appropriately earned his master’s degree in International Relations in a different country, at a London university, and continued lawful political protest against unlawful US and British wars.
In 2006 this American was arrested as a “terrorist.” The evidence: a defendant under a plea-bargain deal to reduce his sentence testified that the American loaned his cell phone as needed when the defendant stayed at his apartment while travelling through London. Among the defendant’s calls is at least one to alleged members of al-Qaida in Pakistan to arrange delivery of a few raincoats, ponchos, and socks in the defendant’s luggage.
That’s the evidence of criminal activity: lending his cell phone.

Goldman Sachs: Record of $23 billion in bonuses for 2009; explaining their economic parasitism
hyperplinks and video live at source: http://www.examiner.com/x-18425-LA-County-Nonpartisan-Examiner~y2010m1d1...
Goldman Sachs is among the most visible financial parasites. Their executives have a revolving door through the US Treasury Department. They profit through “trading,” much like Enron did; including selling investments represented as AAA while simultaneously betting the value of those investments tank. Their CEO says they’re “doing God’s work,” as Enron’s CEO said, “We are on the side of angels.” A US Senate report puts the parasitic cost to Americans at $2 to $4 trillion every year. To put that figure into perspective, that’s an almost unbelievable $20,000 to $40,000 added cost per US household every year. Goldman Sachs is so happy with their “trading,” they’ll pay out a record of $23 billion in bonuses to their top employees for their 2009 work.
There are professionals in economics and finance using the term “parasitism” in its literal sense to describe our US economy.
Obama bombs Yemen: no report of attempt for peaceful resolution; US needs Department of Peace
hyperlinks and video live at source: http://www.examiner.com/x-18425-LA-County-Nonpartisan-Examiner~y2009m12d...
Orwellian Peace-prize winner President Obama approved US cruise missile use in Yemen with no report he attempted peaceful resolution against alleged “terrorists.” The attacks killed 63, including 28 children. Below is a 2-minute news video.
Despite the obvious need, the US has no “Department of Peace.”
US policy does include obvious torture and Supreme Court refusal for prosecution against the US for torture. Despite the declassified evidence showing the US government lied to wage unlawful Wars of Aggression in Afghanistan and Iraq, American government-sponsored mass-murder continues.
Policy response: Gandhi and Martin Luther King advocated public understanding of the facts and non-cooperation with evil. I’m among hundreds who advocate:

Fascist US policy in Afghanistan: 50-to-1 ratio of money to kill versus money to help Afghans
hyperlinks and video live at source: http://www.examiner.com/x-18425-LA-County-Nonpartisan-Examiner~y2009m12d...
The United Nations reports Afghanistan as the world’s most dangerous place for a child to be born. One out of four children die before their fifth birthday; 70% of the population do not have access to clean water.
Orwellian Peace Prize winner Obama’s response: spend at a 50-to-1 ratio to attack Afghans compared with money to help them.
On our planet, one million children in impoverished areas like Afghanistan die from preventable poverty every month. The economic investment to save their lives is 0.7% of the developed nations’ gross national income (GNI). In every historical case, ending poverty decreases population growth rate and eases environmental damage from economically desperate people. Although the US has continuously promised 0.7% of GNI to save children’s lives, our actual investment amount is less than one-fourth that amount.

Real liberals support progressive policies; fakes, fascists wage war, deny help for Americans
hyperlinks and video live at source: http://www.examiner.com/x-18425-LA-County-Nonpartisan-Examiner~y2009m12d...
Let’s define “political liberal,” view current US wars and economic policies through that lens, and determine appropriate policy response if progressivism is to be honored.
Progressivism defined: There is variance in understanding, but let’s work with these
Egalitarian economic policy meeting the minimal needs of education, health care, housing, food, and a sustainable environment.
Investment in research and openness to new ideas for social improvement.
Sufficient government programs to achieve the above goals while maximizing individual freedom.

Real conservatives honor US war laws; fakes and fascists lie to break them
hyperlinks and video live at source: http://www.examiner.com/x-18425-LA-County-Nonpartisan-Examiner~y2009m12d...
Let’s define “political conservative,” view current US wars through that lens, and determine appropriate war policy if conservatism is to be honored.
Conservatism defined: There is variance in understanding, but let’s work with these
Respecting law and order, the US Constitution, and inalienable rights for equal opportunity.
Self-reliance and personal responsibility.
Minimal government intervention for maximum freedom and minimal tax cost.
Law and order is the foundation of society; not much can be accomplished or enjoyed without it. Being American is a political distinction; it literally means citizenry under US and Constitutional law. Conservatives look to teamwork in complex projects and are adamant about personal responsibility for individual performance and cooperation within the law. Government provides law and order, but in a minimal way to maximize our freedom and personal income.

How can the US be fascist if we have elections and the US Constitution? Ok, I'll explain…
hyperlinks and videos live at source: http://www.examiner.com/x-18425-LA-County-Nonpartisan-Examiner~y2009m12d...
US policy is fascist in unlawful Wars of Aggression, obvious torture, paper-thin propaganda to expand US war to Iran, blatant violation of international treaties with WMD, transfer of TRILLIONS of our tax dollars to financial elites, and corporate media prostitution service to propagandize the above facts to an awakening American public.
This assessment is objectively factual as political theory defines fascism. Res ipsa loquitur translates roughly into “the facts speak for themselves;” with the above list of documented facts as independently verifiable evidence proving beyond reasonable doubt American fascism in those defining areas of US government.
Let’s compare how a constitutional republic would respond in these crucial policies, then address the strongest arguments against the assertion of American fascism: popular elections and the presence of the US Constitution.

Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich: explaining their war opposition in two brief videos
hyperlinks and videos live at source: http://www.examiner.com/x-18425-LA-County-Nonpartisan-Examiner~y2009m12d...
The “leadership” of the Democrats and Republicans collude for unlawful Wars of Aggression, torture, rhetoric for more unlawful war with Iran, the destruction of our treaty obligations, and the transfer of trillions of our tax dollars to banksters. By political definition in any textbook, the US is now fascist and not a constitutional republic.
Where is the opposition within these parties? On the Democratic side, Dennis Kucinich is most-often acknowledged as in opposition to his party's "leadership." Among Republicans, it’s Ron Paul. Thanks to the hundreds of writers who work for more than the propaganda of our corporate media, I came across this 3-minute video on the site What Really Happened of a speech Dr. Paul made in the House in February, 2009 that hits the main points of his political philosophy. For Dr. Paul's statement to the Foreign Affairs Committee on rapid and immediate withdraw of US troops from Afghanistan, click here.
Following is a 5-minute speech of Kucinich. Enjoy.

American fascism: Obama, "Justice" Dept., Supreme Court prevent prosecution of US torture
hyperlinks and video live at source: http://www.examiner.com/x-18425-LA-County-Nonpartisan-Examiner~y2009m12d...
Orwellian Peace Prize winner President Obama is instructing his Department of Justice (DOJ) to block prosecution of torture. The Supreme Court is upholding this "defense."
Impeachment is the constitutional recourse against President Obama and civil officers for their criminal complicity after the fact in torture. Covering-up a crime is a crime. The fact that Congress has not impeached to enforce US law, Constitutional law, and international law is gradually overcoming Americans' blindness to the obvious admission of fact that the US government is a de facto fascist state; a constitutional republic in empty rhetoric only.
Americans should be outraged that their government openly tortures, won't prosecute, and rules in court there is no legal recourse when they torture. I recommend this summary from one of my favorite political and economic analysts, Washington's Blog.

American fascism: by political definition the US is now fascist, not a constitutional republic
hyperlinks and video live at source: http://www.examiner.com/x-18425-LA-County-Nonpartisan-Examiner~y2009m12d...
Look in any textbook or encyclopedia and compare US policy (not rhetoric) to the definitions of fascism and constitutional republic. I’ll explain it here, but check my work. If at the end of your consideration, you agree that the United States of America is now a fascist state, please speak-up about it. Also, consider the policy requests at the end of the article.
Please read this article like a prima facie legal argument; that means unless you can refute the facts, they stand as our best understanding of the issue. Here, if you can’t refute the evidence that the US is now a fascist state, then accept this as your best understanding. As time passes, if evidence is brought forward to further the case for fascism or refute it, your comprehensive understanding improves. Here we go:

Obama lies: "America has never fought a war against a democracy." Iran 1953, Guatemala 1954, Vietnam
hyperlinks and video live at source: http://www.examiner.com/x-18425-LA-County-Nonpartisan-Examiner~y2009m12d...
A lie of omission is a lie; it intentionally leaves out crucial information to create a false representation of reality. Obama lied in omission in his Orwellian Peace Prize acceptance speech by claiming, “America has never fought a war against a democracy.” Technically, a war is reciprocated armed conflict. However, the etymology of the word, “war” is “confusion,” which is part of the CIA role in wars against democracy in Iran in 1953, Guatemala in 1954, and Vietnam beginning with US support of French colonialism against Vietnamese independence and extending beyond US approval of election cancelation that began the Vietnam War.
I could go on with a history of US intervention in other countries’ governments, but that would be a book, not an article. Three examples that Obama lied is enough for clear and convincing evidence to consider my analysis and policy request that follow.
Iran 1953
Change blindness: research and history how Americans are as blind to US fascism as Nazi-era Germans
hyperlinks and video live at source: http://www.examiner.com/x-18425-LA-County-Nonpartisan-Examiner~y2009m12d...
Psychological research demonstrates that large-scale dramatic change can escape attention when the change is unsuspected, unannounced, and agents causing the change act as if nothing is different. Two areas of this cognitive study are “change blindness” and “inattentional blindness.” When we include consideration of “cognitive dissonance,” the rejection of facts when they conflict with important beliefs, we can approach an explanation of how educated citizens could accept fascism when it was unsuspected, unannounced, and the responsible agents fraudulently represented the new government as no different from the old. Cognitive dissonance would deter many people to accept the new reality, even when the facts were clear.
Financial expert Gerald Celente: American public losing everything to fascist oligarchs
hyperlinks and video live at source: http://www.examiner.com/x-18425-LA-County-Nonpartisan-Examiner~y2009m11d...
Gerald Celente is one of the world’s best trend forecasters. In the following 4-part radio interview, Celente blasts current political and economic “leadership” as beholden to large corporate and financial interests. As I’ve documented, professionals who work with economics are using unprecedented harsh language in attempt to get Americans’ attention to the loss of trillions of our collective dollars. His comments include (paraphrased):
“Too big to fail” banks are anathema to real capitalism.
US economy is like a ruthless mafia ripping-off the American public. The US is being looted.
US economy is no longer capitalism, it’s oligarchies and fascism.
We are witnessing the greatest heist in American history, and the banks are doing it.

“Do you have eyes to see and a mind to understand? These crimes are an affront to my intelligence.”

Ask a veteran: If Afghan war is illegal, US troops and public must refuse deployment
hyperlinks and video live at source: http://www.examiner.com/x-18425-LA-County-Nonpartisan-Examiner~y2009m11d...
“An error does not become truth by reason of multiplied propagation, nor does truth become error because nobody sees it. Truth stands, even if there be no public support. It is self sustained.” - Mohandas Gandhi, Young India 1924-1926 (1927), p. 1285
CBS news reports that sources confirm the deployment of ~40,000 additional US troops in Afghanistan (two-minute video below). The most important context for troops, officers, and the US public to consider is that if the US war is illegal, we must all refuse deployment and any further engagement. All those with an oath to defend and protect the US Constitution are sworn to refuse such an illegal act (along with being viciously immoral).
Here is my best attempt to outline the legal argument that responsible US citizens must refuse this war and further deployment. Here is my archive of all articles concerning US invasion of Afghanistan.

Goldman Sachs CEO: "doing God's work." Enron CEO: "We are on the side of angels."
hyperlinks and video live at source: http://www.examiner.com/examiner/x-18425-LA-County-Nonpartisan-Examiner~...
Bank executives are cashing-in with bonuses from stock options at record rates (again), with the chair and CEO of Goldman Sachs literally claiming that they are doing God’s work (yes, really). Goldman Sachs makes money through “trading.” For analogy, I suggest reviewing the history of another record-setting company for profits that “traded”: Enron. In the two-minute trailer to the documentary, “The smartest guys in the room,” CEO Jeffrey Skilling also says, “We are the good guys. We are on the side of angels.”
For your consideration: trading that does not produce goods and services is a euphemism for gambling (look it up).
The American public is transferring record amounts of our money to subsidize the gambling losses of banksters. Please study the information in the above links. I doubt you can make a persuasive argument of being a competent citizen if you are under-informed on current policy involving multiple trillions of our taxes.
Bailout overseer Elizabeth Warren: banks recklessly gamble knowing US taxpayers will pay losses
hyperlinks and video live at source: http://www.examiner.com/x-18425-LA-County-Nonpartisan-Examiner~y2009m11d...
Elizabeth Warren is a Harvard law professor specializing in contract, bankruptcy, and commercial law. She is also chair of the Congressional oversight committee for the so-called "bailout." In the following 6-minute interview, Warren sharply criticizes the political “leadership” of both parties for allowing the big banks to gamble and profit, then be bailed-out when their gambling crashes. She states that the banks were given our money while we were left on our own. She sites the most recent economic data of unemployment officially reported at over 10%, with the more realistic closer to twice that amount (and here).

Obama hypocrisy: continuing American fascism with unlimited detention
hyperlinks and video live at source: http://www.examiner.com/x-18425-LA-County-Nonpartisan-Examiner~y2009m9d1...
Almost a year after Mr. Obama's election as President, with the sworn duty to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States, his administration continues the unconstitutional policies of declaring human beings as "enemies" and detaining them without rights for as long as they so dictate (as in dictatorship). As a teacher for US Government classes, I can tell you that this is un-American in every academic understanding of what Americanism means. We have other words to describe a political philosophy of unlimited government that rejects inalienable civil and political rights: dictatorship and fascism are academically correct.

Morrissey booted from Scholars for 9/11 Truth and Justice?
I have been removed from the membership list at stj911.org, without a word of explanation, although I have been a member since the founding. I suspect it is because of my essay "9/11 Aletheia," which was published on OpEdNews.com (but rejected by 911blogger.com, also without explanation).
Is this any way for "Scholars" to behave? I can't say I'm surprised, but I was secretly hoping that I was wrong about the people who are obviously controlling things there. I was not. Read the essay at http://www.opednews.com/articles/9-11-Aletheia-by-Michael-Morrissey-0905... .
I hope I don't get banned from 911blogger as well. We all need to think about what is going on here.
Boehner posts terrifying video with 9/11 images, implied support of torture
From Rawstory: "House Minority Leader John Boehner has posted an alarming new video on his YouTube page that includes images of the Pentagon burning on Sept. 11, 2009, and implications that the Congressman, or those who created the video, support torture techniques used on terror war prisoners during the Bush administration."
Note that Sept. 11, 2009 should have read Sept. 11, 2001, but I've quoted Rawstory verbatim, errors included. They or may not correct it soon.
Change.org Censors 9/11 Truth

news.ReOpen911.info by Spotless Mind
Translated by DJDaveMark
December 1st, 2008
The administrators at Change.org have deleted the idea for a new investigation into 9/11.
They declared that a new investigation into the attacks – which gave the Bush Administration the power to spy on it's own citizens, to torture, to launch two preventative wars based on lies and more generally to trample all over the Constitution – was "outside the scope" of the site's stated mission and therefore didn't meet their criteria for "specific policy solutions". It doesn't matter how many people want to know the Truth about 9/11, they refuse to have the idea promoted and discussed on their site.
Because of this censorship, the Change.org site has shown that it isn't a "social platform" but, rather, just another gatekeeper of 9/11 Truth.
When the idea was pulled, it was by far the most popular, comfortably occupying the top spot, totaling at least 660 votes (twice the amount of the next best rated idea) only 48 hours after being submitted. On a side note, the other proposed ideas had a 3 week head start, and the 9/11 Truth idea was only just warming up.
Why (pretend to) ask the citizens for ideas then simply delete the most popular? It seems like all of this is more of a joke than a wishful expression for democracy…
Here is the e-mail received by everyone who voted (and to whom we thank for voting):
Because we must decide: Mort Sahl's warning echoes for 9/11 activists
In his 1968 interview with Perry Adams, Mort Sahl explains the urgency of bringing to justice the conspirators behind the public execution of JFK. After reviewing the evidence, Sahl had made the decision to assist New Orleans DA Jim Garrison in his investigation. As a consequence of his vocal support for Garrison, Sahl--whose face made the cover of (CIA's) Time Magazine in 1960--was blacklisted and his successful mainstream career as an entertainer came to an end overnight.
Sahl's words and his sacrifice will not be lost on the generation of activists working to expose the truth of 9/11 and other shattering acts of state terrorism.

They don't mind if their government operates strictly for the benefit of the rich and the corporate class, as long as their own taxes don't go up.
Nor do they care if their government spends itself to the brink of bankruptcy. As long as they feel threatened by some external evil, everything is permitted."

"God does not make cowardly nations free." -- Adolf Hitler, Mein Kampf
A couple weeks ago, while asserting that the Founding Founders intended for the U.S. government to be infused with Christianity, Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia said that the Holocaust was able to flourish in Germany because of Europe's secular ways. "Did it turn out that, by reason of the separation of church and state, the Jews were safer in Europe than they were in the United States of America?" Scalia asked a congregation at Manhattan's Shearith Israel synagogue. "I don't think so."
One might expect regular citizens to be ignorant of history, but a Supreme Court Justice? Does he imagine that the phrase "Gott mit Uns" was a German clothier's interpretation of "Got Milk"?
