George Tenet

Intelligence Improperly Collected on U.S. Citizens

I copy/pasted the entire article to preserve it (see following the url) but the last 6 paragraphs are especially significant to 9/11 and the deep state, so I've also copy/pasted them just below - loose nuke

Another memorandum disclosed that a Defense Intelligence Agency employee said that in May 2002, in response to a Congressional inquiry, the Joint Forces Intelligence Command provided false information about its activities related to Al Qaeda and the Sept. 11 attacks. The document offered few details.

The Justice Department also released other documents Wednesday from other Freedom of Information Act lawsuits related to national security policies during the Bush administration.

Among them was a letter written in 2002 by George J. Tenet, who was the director of the Central Intelligence Agency at the time, suggesting that a C.I.A. ban on using journalists as spies was not airtight.

Evidence which has come out over the last couple of years makes it clear that top Bush administration officials knew that Saddam didn't have weapons of mass destruction and knew that Saddam had no connection with 9/11.

It is now reasonably obvious that the Bush administration was looking for an excuse to oust Saddam, and - in the words of the Downing Street Memo - “the intelligence and facts were being fixed around the policy”.

A long-suppressed report by the Central Intelligence Agency's inspector general to be released next week reveals that CIA interrogators staged mock executions as part of the agency's post-9/11 program to detain and question terror suspects, NEWSWEEK has learned.

Cheney Blames Tenet For Creating The Iraq-9/11 Link

How can that be? I thought, "The Bush administration put relentless pressure on interrogators to use harsh methods on detainees in part to find evidence of cooperation between al Qaida and the late Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein’s regime." Tenet once said that he would not be the "Fall Guy." Maybe now would be a good time for him to nail Cheney to the wall. - Jon

On Iraq and 9/11: ‘That’s not something I made up’

Former Vice President Dick Cheney is usually very careful at choosing his words.

Perhaps not so today. In a speech Monday at the National Press Club, continuing along familiar themes of terrorism, Guantanamo and his hatred for The New York Times, Cheney spoke defensively of the administration’s practice of water-boarding detainees.

Seeking Integrity at the CIA
by Ray McGovern

Editor's Note: An underlying factor in the national security crises confronting the United States has been the corruption of the US. intelligence process, with analyses tailored to fit the desires of the policymakers and with laws bent to permit torture and other abuses.

In this guest essay, former CIA analyst Ray McGovern reflects on what went wrong and what now needs to go right:

The Director of Central Intelligence (DCI) must be a person whose previous professional performance has been distinguished by unimpeachable integrity and independence. The director must have the courage of his or her own convictions.

Without integrity and courage, all virtue is specious, and no amount of structural or organizational reform will make any difference.

Jail Time for Tenet? by Ray McGovern

http://www.consortiumnews.com/2008/061108a.html

President George W. Bush used to complain that being president was “hard work,” but he has gotten over that. Now he says it “has been a fabulous experience.”

Why fabulous? Well, a good part of it has to do with his past.

When Bush screwed up royally – whether in his personal or business affairs – he had to suffer the humiliation of asking his father or his father’s friends (sometimes Arab friends) to bail him out.

But now? Wow! As president, young George has found he can escape accountability altogether.

Now when he screws up royally, he need not call Dad; George W. Bush is himself in control of all the levers he needs to pull in order to bail himself out. Is this a great country or what?

An invertebrate Congress has been a big help. But his greatest asset limiting his liability has been the kind of folk he has gotten to work for him. The kind like Vice President Dick Cheney's former chief of staff, Scooter Libby, whom he has no problem asking to lie for him, when required.

For Bush’s powers are formidable – as he showed when Libby, convicted perjurer and obstructer of justice, was about to go off to prison. The president commuted Libby’s sentence, sending a message to others who might be called on to lie for him to hang tough and count on commutation or pardon.

A president’s unlimited power to pardon serves as the ultimate trump card to keep friends and associates out of jail.

Even so, one key aide, former CIA Director and Medal of Freedom winner, George Tenet, can be forgiven for being somewhat apprehensive these days. For he has lied under oath regarding what Bush knew about the 9/11 attacks and how early Bush knew it.

'Deaf, Dumb, and Blind': Were Communications Sabotaged on 9/11?

On September 12, 2001, the commander in chief of the Russian air force, General Anatoly Kornukov, offered his thoughts on the previous day's events: "Generally it is impossible to carry out an act of terror on the scenario which was used in the USA yesterday. ... The notification and control system for the air transport in Russia does not allow uncontrolled flights and leads to immediate reaction of the anti-missile defense. As soon as something like that happens here, I am reported about that right away and in a minute we are all up." [1] One would assume the defenses of the United States should have been more effective than those of Russia. Yet the 9/11 attacks seem to have proceeded with ease, and America's air defenses appear to have been almost non-existent at the time they were most needed.

Please vote for Amazon review slamming CIA-da capo Geo Tenet's new bestseller "At the Center of the Storm"

Once again, so-called "revelatory" disinformation by "former" CIA figures hits the best-seller list.

But Amazon gives us a chance to write reviews of such works, and reach large numbers of shoppers with the truth about the CIA and 9/11.

Amazingly, they've just posted my review entitled "Lies, Damned Lies and CIA Revelations" (see first few paragraphs below.)

You can do two things to promote 9/11 Truth here-

- Vote for this review to help keep it on the top page where book browsers will see it. The link is http://www.amazon.com/At-Center-Storm-Years-CIA/dp/0061147788
- Try your hand at posting your own reviews.

(If your review isn't posted right away, try working on it some more. I often spend a couple hours fine-tuning a review so it abides by the rules, gets past the censor, and carries a punch without being too offputting to the unaccustomed reader.)

Well, this one has put quite a few people off.
The 4 to 1 vote against me, and the praise lavished on Tenet's lies by unsuspecting reader-reviewers there, show we still have a lot of waking up to do!

Tenet Allegedly Warned Rice Of "Imminent" [...] "Spectacular Attacks Against The United States"

Source: alaskareport.com

April 30, 2007

Washington, D.C. - Former CIA Director George Tenet says he warned then-National Security Adviser Condoleeza Rice in the summer of 2001 that "multiple, spectacular attacks" from the al Qaeda terrorist network were imminent and urged a pre-emptive strike on the terrorist network.

In an interview aired Sunday on CBS' "60 Minutes," Tenet said he told Rice that the United States needed "to consider immediate action inside Afghanistan," where al Qaeda was based before the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on New York and Washington.

"Essentially, the briefing says there are going to be multiple, spectacular attacks against the United States. We believe these attacks are imminent. Mass casualties are likely," he said.

But he said Rice delegated his request to subordinates. And Tenet said he never brought the issue up with President Bush, whom he briefed nearly every day on the threats facing the United States, "because the United States government doesn't work that way."

Tenet Says Cheney Had Eye On Iraq Long Before 9/11

I don't know to what extent Tenet is telling the truth in this book, but the idea that Cheney wanted to go to Iraq prior to 9/11, and wouldn't have been able to do it without it, most assuredly, is true. - Jon

In his book, former CIA director says aides to Cheney and Rumsfeld inserted 'crap' into public justifications for war

WASHINGTON — White House and Pentagon officials, and particularly Vice President Dick Cheney, were determined to attack Iraq from the first days of the Bush administration, long before the Sept. 11 attacks, and repeatedly stretched available intelligence to build support for the war, according to a new book by former CIA director George Tenet.

George Tenet's New Book

George Tenet has a new book coming out. Don't get me wrong, I'm not expecting him to 'out' anybody for their guilt of 9/11, but I am optimistic for 2 reasons...

#1. Who knows for sure, but there was apparently a lot of animosity between Tenet and the White House in the aftermath of the WMD scandals.

#2. Every time anyone talks about 9/11, we are receding new information. Whether it’s true or false, I’m happy to hear what he has to say, and who knows where the most innocuous snippet may lead with thorough research.

Remember, in the latest Woodward book, Tenet had told Woodward about that late night meeting with Condi in which he was basically blown off. It’s possible that Tenet and his Medal of Freedom have been quietly planning revenge against those he thinks turned on him in the White House.

New 9/11 information comes in infrequently that I’m just an addict for more information. And I’m about due for another fix.

My first diary. It's light on substance, I know, but it's just meant as a quick heads up.

Vindication

If you've been a member of the 9/11 Truth Movement for a long time, you're well aware how difficult this fight has been.

Some have faced ridicule the likes of which have never been seen before.

Some have been set up by the media to be made fools of, and worse.

Some have been kicked out of office in Washington D.C.

Some have lost friends that didn't want to listen.

Some have lost their jobs for speaking their mind.

Some have been harassed by this Government in one form or another.

The point is, this is probably the hardest thing this country has ever faced, and I am forever grateful to those that had the courage to face the truth.
