Next 9/11 in Houston ? ...War with Iran?

Honestly, I do not know what to make of this. I got wind of this article from a Houston 9/11 Truther. Personally, I am not an alarmist. However, I like to be vigilant. I don't have expertise on this kind of stuff. Does anyone have input (besides just speculations)? If you have a more professional view on this article with pertinent information, you are welcome to post something fresh on your blog. I only wanted to bring this up in case it is important.

Bali Bombings, CIA Search for 9/11 Hijackers in Thailand – 9/11 Timeline Additions as of June 1, 2008

The largest chunk of new entries this week deal with al-Qaeda in Southeast Asia in general and the 2002 Bali bombings in particular. A 1994 phone tap in the Philippines indicated that Hambali, a leader of the al-Qaeda affiliate Jemaah Islamiya (JI), was involved in the Bojinka plot, and after he was arrested in 2003 President Bush falsely promised he could be tried in Indonesia, where Jemaah Islamiya attacked the Philippine ambassador in 2000. Al-Qaeda-linked figures also helped militant Islamists fight Christians in the spice islands in 2000-2001, and the US unsuccessfully pressured Indonesia to allow the rendition of JI's spiritual leader in 2002.

Bush Replays Iraq Games on Iran

By Ray McGovern -

Stop! Please. Get beneath the hype over former White House press secretary Scott McClellan’s book, What Happened: Inside the Bush White House and Washington’s Culture of Deception. Don’t miss forest for trees.

Not since John Dean told the truth about President Richard Nixon’s crimes have we had an account by a very close aide to a sitting president charging him with crimes of the most serious kind.

McClellan writes that George W. Bush abandoned “candor and honesty” to wage a “political campaign” that led the nation into an “unnecessary war.”

The chief U.S. prosecutor of senior Nazi officials at the post-World War II Nuremberg Trials, U.S. Supreme Court Justice Robert H. Jackson, labeled such action – more correctly termed a war of aggression – the “supreme international crime.”

In other words, President Bush used propaganda and deception to lead the United States into what an earlier generation of American leaders judged not just a war crime, but the “supreme” war crime.

Iran Claims it Foiled a Terrorist Attack Against a Russian Consulate by Group with U.S. Ties

In a release from the Russian News Service RIA Novosti dated May 14, Iran has announced that it has intercepted a terrorist attack against a Russian Consulate in the town of Rasht near the Caspian Sea. Iran claims the group has ties to the U.S. and was attempting to stage the attack in order to drive a wedge between Russian-Iranian relations, which have grown stronger over the past few years due to Russia's aid towards Iran regarding their nuclear development programs.

TEHRAN, May 14 (RIA Novosti) - Iran has arrested a terrorist group that planned to blow up the Russian consulate building in the town of Rasht near the Caspian Sea, the Iranian intelligence and security minister said on Wednesday.

"This terrorist network, with links to the U.S., planned an explosion at the Russian consulate in Rasht, aiming to create a rift between Iran and its neighbors," Qolam Hosein Mohseni-Ejei was quoted by Fars news agency as saying.

The minister, speaking at a session of Iranian prosecutors, did not provide any details of the operation.

Iran Says To Sue U.S., Britain Over Mosque Blast

Source: Reuters

Reasons to think it's true:

  • The Pentagon is bypassing official US intelligence channels and turning to a dangerous and unruly cast of characters in order to create strife in Iran in preparation for any possible attack, former and current intelligence officials say. One of the operational assets being used by the Defense Department is a right-wing terrorist organization known as Mujahedeen-e Khalq (MEK), which is being “run” in two southern regional areas of Iran. • During an interview on CNN Friday night, retired U.S. Air Force Colonel Sam Gardiner claimed that U.S. military operations are already 'underway' inside Iran, RAW STORY has found. - [4/15/2006 - Rawstory]

2004 Madrid Bombings, Iran – Additions as of May 11, 2008

Again this week, most of the new entries in the 9/11 Timeline focus on the 2004 Madrid bombings. Shortly after 9/11, investigators linked together a cell in Madrid, London-based cleric Abu Qatada, and the "Hamburg Cell", and Spanish police monitored a house where the Madrid bombers would later build the bombs. They failed to arrest the bombers for common crimes they committed, but focused on one of the bombers' apartments, and increased surveillance of them in spring 2003.

A review of Steve Alten's The Shell Game

A review of Steve Alten's The Shell Game (2007, Sweetwater Books)

The Shell Game is a story that, presented differently, would be almost completely unintelligible to anyone who has spent the last seven or so years watching exclusively Fox News for their information, or equivalently, living under a rock. Fortunately, the rest of us have the Internet. But from the point of view of the tragically misinformed public, Steve Alten makes his story accessible by wrapping it tightly around a thoroughly Hollywood-friendly plot.

Transition to New President in Wartime Concerns the Military

"The chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Navy Adm. Michael G. Mullen, said the U.S. political transition will be "extraordinarily challenging," particularly as the military is engaged in Iraq and Afghanistan and faces interference in both countries from Iran."

The nation's top military officer warned yesterday that the transition to a new American president will mark a "time of vulnerability" as the United States fights two wars, and he said military leaders are already actively preparing for the changing of the guard.

The chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Navy Adm. Michael G. Mullen, said the U.S. political transition will be "extraordinarily challenging," particularly as the military is engaged in Iraq and Afghanistan and faces interference in both countries from Iran.

US Planes and Choppers Cross Pak Border, Violating Air Space Aiding In Battle Against Rebel Forces By Muhammad Khurshid

Between this story and the one I saw on MSNBC news this morning tying together N. Korea with an aerial photo of a supposed nuclear facility of some sort in Syria, well . . . seems like something's up to further along the neocons' pre-planned agenda to get into Iran & Syria by way of Iraq . . . and create all-hell in the Middle East. But maybe just another coincidence. Betsy

Al-Qaeda No. 2 Says 9/11 Theories Propagated By Iran

By MAGGIE MICHAEL – 3 minutes ago

CAIRO, Egypt (AP) — Osama bin Laden's chief deputy on Tuesday denied a theory that Israel carried out the Sept. 11 attacks and blamed Iran and Shiite Hezbollah for spreading the idea to discredit the Sunni al-Qaida's strike against the U.S.

The comments in a recording posted on an Islamic Web site reflected the increasing criticism by al-Qaida's No. 2 leader Ayman al-Zawahri against Iran. Al-Zawahri has accused Iran in recent messages of seeking to extend its power in the Middle East, particularly in Iraq and through its Hezbollah allies in Lebanon.

The authenticity of the two-hour audio recording could not be independently confirmed. But the voice sounded like past audiotapes from the terror leader, and the posting where it was found bore the logo of Al-Sahab, al-Qaida's official media arm.

It was the second of two messages answering questions that were posted to Islamic militant Web sites earlier this year.

Iran: 9/11 incident, suspicious

Sun, 20 Apr 2008 18:59:32

Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman, Mohammad-Ali Hosseini

The Iranian Foreign Ministry says there are 'many ambiguities' about the official version of the reports on September 11, 2001 attacks.

"Many pundits and observers who have followed the incident believe that there are many points of ambiguity surrounding it," the ministry's spokesman Mohammad-Ali Hosseini said in a Sunday press conference.

"As long as all the aspects have not been clarified, this remains a suspicious incident," he added.

Editor’s Notes:

Pat Buchanan: Petraeus points to war with Iran

"Is it fair to say that the Iranian-backed special groups in Iraq are responsible for the murder of hundreds of American soldiers and thousands of Iraqi soldiers and civilians?"
"It certainly is. ... That is correct," said Petraeus.
The following day, Petraeus told the House Armed Services Committee, "Unchecked, the 'special groups' pose the greatest long-term threat to the viability of a democratic Iraq."
Translation: The United States is now fighting the proxies of Iran for the future of Iraq. The general's testimony is forcing Bush's hand, for consider the question it logically raises.
