Honestly, I do not know what to make of this. I got wind of this article from a Houston 9/11 Truther. Personally, I am not an alarmist. However, I like to be vigilant. I don't have expertise on this kind of stuff. Does anyone have input (besides just speculations)? If you have a more professional view on this article with pertinent information, you are welcome to post something fresh on your blog. I only wanted to bring this up in case it is important.

Al-Qaeda-linked figures also helped militant Islamists fight Christians in the spice islands in 2000-2001, and the US unsuccessfully pressured Indonesia to allow the rendition of JI's spiritual leader in 2002.

In a release from the Russian News Service RIA Novosti dated May 14, Iran has announced that it has intercepted a terrorist attack against a Russian Consulate in the town of Rasht near the Caspian Sea. Iran claims the group has ties to the U.S. and was attempting to stage the attack in order to drive a wedge between Russian-Iranian relations, which have grown stronger over the past few years due to Russia's aid towards Iran regarding their nuclear development programs.

TEHRAN, May 14 (RIA Novosti) - Iran has arrested a terrorist group that planned to blow up the Russian consulate building in the town of Rasht near the Caspian Sea, the Iranian intelligence and security minister said on Wednesday.

"This terrorist network, with links to the U.S., planned an explosion at the Russian consulate in Rasht, aiming to create a rift between Iran and its neighbors," Qolam Hosein Mohseni-Ejei was quoted by Fars news agency as saying.

The minister, speaking at a session of Iranian prosecutors, did not provide any details of the operation.

Again this week, most of the new entries in the 9/11 Timeline focus on the 2004 Madrid bombings. CAIRO, Egypt (AP) — Osama bin Laden's chief deputy on Tuesday denied a theory that Israel carried out the Sept. 11 attacks and blamed Iran and Shiite Hezbollah for spreading the idea to discredit the Sunni al-Qaida's strike against the U.S.

The comments in a recording posted on an Islamic Web site reflected the increasing criticism by al-Qaida's No. 2 leader Ayman al-Zawahri against Iran. Al-Zawahri has accused Iran in recent messages of seeking to extend its power in the Middle East, particularly in Iraq and through its Hezbollah allies in Lebanon.

The authenticity of the two-hour audio recording could not be independently confirmed. But the voice sounded like past audiotapes from the terror leader, and the posting where it was found bore the logo of Al-Sahab, al-Qaida's official media arm.

It was the second of two messages answering questions that were posted to Islamic militant Web sites earlier this year.

Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman, Mohammad-Ali Hosseini

The Iranian Foreign Ministry says there are 'many ambiguities' about the official version of the reports on September 11, 2001 attacks.

"Many pundits and observers who have followed the incident believe that there are many points of ambiguity surrounding it," the ministry's spokesman Mohammad-Ali Hosseini said in a Sunday press conference.

"As long as all the aspects have not been clarified, this remains a suspicious incident," he added.
