Michael Moore and Bill Maher defend Tony Bennett’s 9/11 comments

Two people who aren’t afraid to agree with Tony Bennett’s controversial comments about 9/11 are Bill Maher and Michael Moore.

Harking back on their own experiences of getting condemned for provocative statements, both Maher and Moore defended the singer’s 9/11 comments on Real Time Friday evening.

In reaction to panel guest John Avlon saying “he was offended” by Bennett’s statements and labeling them “bulls–t,” Moore came in to vehemently defend the 85 year old crooner.

WATCH: Video from HBO, which aired on September 24, 2011.

“I’m not offended by what he said,” Moore said. “I think it was a brave thing to say, because what he was saying was much more complex. He wasn’t blaming and saying, ‘We’re responsible for our people getting killed.’”

Rep. Jane Harman has served the South Bay in Congress for 14 years.

As President-elect Obama begins staffing his administration, one name that keeps popping up on lists of potential appointees is that of Rep. Jane Harman.

Harman, who has served the South Bay in Congress for 14 of the past 16 years, has been mentioned as a candidate for several positions, including CIA director, director of national intelligence, and secretary of homeland security.

Harman has said nothing publicly to encourage such speculation, but neither has she tried to tamp it down. Late last week, her office said she would have no comment.

As the former ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, she has a deep knowledge of intelligence matters and good relations with Republicans.

We Are Change LA Talks to Jane Harman's Office about HR1955, Architects and Engineers for 9-11 Truth and False-flag Terrorism

The earlier part of our Eleventh Day of Action last month was spent demonstrating outside of Congresswoman Jane Harman's office in El Segundo, CA. We took the opportunity to go inside and speak with her aid about our concerns surrounding HR 1955, Mark Weitzman's powerpoint presentation identifying www.ae911truth.org as "Disinformation" and appealing to terrorists, and Congress's continuing silent complicity in the 9-11 cover-up. Her aid would not allow us to film the conversation so we attempted to describe the conversation as best we could. We left behind some information about 9-11, including an ae911truth.org card about the destruction of the Twin Towers and a DVD with "9-11 Mysteries" and Richard Gage AIA's "Blueprint for Destruction," among others. Here's the video:

A Response to the Simon Wiesenthal Center and Mark Weitzman
— Richard Gage, AIA and contributors

AE911Truth.org is extremely concerned about the recent portrayal of our peaceful organization and website by the Simon Wiesenthal Center alongside Taliban militant websites at the recent "Homeland Security Hearing" hosted by Congresswoman Jane Harman. By implication we and other 9/11 Truth organizations are branded as terrorists. We are therefore actively pursuing non-legal and legal remedies. The following letter written to the SWC by John Stevenson is posted in order to also express our concern. We will post updates as events unfold. Thank you for your overwhelming show of support!

Subject: A brilliant letter

Written, by a friend, to Mark Weitzman at the Simon Wiesenthal Center re: his efforts to equate 9/11 Truth with Terrorism. Should you need to, feel free to forward it verbatim to Weitzman, here:

Better yet, send it to every newspaper or media outlet you know. This really nails it dead center...

Dear Mr. Weitzman,

While I respect your efforts to prevent terrorism in all its forms, your suggestion that the 9/11 Truth Movement is in any way related to terror organizations, or could foment such interests, is ridiculous and dangerous.

The 9/11 Truth Movement is a non-violent effort by thousands (if not tens of thousands) of highly respected professionals in numerous areas of expertise (and potentially millions of other concerned citizens) to demand a legitimate and impartial investigation into the events surrounding the 9/11 attacks. There are countless weaknesses, flaws, and overt misrepresentations in the official account that are painfully obvious to those who actually KNOW something about the Systems and Material science involved in building collapse, as well as the numerous suspicious activities by government and various other domestic groups to suppress and even destroy evidence involved in this crime, for reasons at this point unknown. There are far too many important questions unanswered that can be answered with a legitimate investigation, rather than simply sweep this tragic crime under the rug. Is that what you suggest we do?
