Truthers Marginalized for Asking Questions

Abby Martin remarks on how the American political and media establishment has marginalized those who question the US government's official narrative on the events of 9/11.

"9/11 TRUTH" was always a poor choice of words

The phrase "9/11 TRUTH" has been demonized in the popular media for years. It is a dead term. It has all sorts of negative associations from space beams to tin foil hats to people who shout and interrupt with incoherent messages.

It is dead.

It was never a good marketing term, and it was always open to attack that we are pushing untruth under the banner of "truth."

The term that packs a much better punch is 9/11 Cover-Up. The Cover-Up is more tangible. It can't be immediately dismissed because everyone, and I do mean everyone, accepts that there are covered up aspects that the government has hidden from us.

Cover-Up puts the focus back onto those who are covering up, rather than onto unreliable sources spouting inanities on message boards.

Cover-Up prompts the listener to consider whether to take a side regarding the Cover-Up issue.

Cover-Up suggests a mystery, and piques curiosity.

Cover-Up has an exciting movie quality, that there is more to the plot that we should want to discover.

Cover-Up leaves open the possibility of criminality, and of uncovering more suspects.

Cover-Up can be considered treason in this matter.

The REAL Holocaust Deniers Are Those Who Accept the Government's Version of 9/11

A reader named Patrick made a very insightful comment about the propaganda effort to link 9/11 truth activists with holocaust deniers (edited for readability):

Comment on use of the phrase "9/11 Truther"

I have a question for everyone. Since when have we all suddenly become "9/11 Truthers"? I find that 99% of the time this phrase is used to marginalize the work that we do and label us as "one of those people", a "nut", a "freak". I just read a comment that said something like "those truthers... I thought they went away". Let's break down the term here. There is 9/11 and Truther, thus someone who is interested in finding out the truth about 9/11. This does not necessarily imply inside job. It could be someone who believes the attack was blowback, like Noam Chomsky, but who would still like a full and truthful account of what happened that day. Thus, who on this Earth is not on some level a 9/11 Truther? This is similar to saying you are an Iraq Peacer!! But do Iraq peace activists go around saying they are Iraq Peacers?

Stick 'em up! for the Next 9/11 - Most cost-effective activist ammo yet

As a 9/11 activist, I wanted to let you know that if you need any materials for 9/11 anniversary or anti-war events, it's still not too late. If you order now, we can get books, DVD's or flyers to most customers this week by priority mail or DHL.

We're announcing a new product idea now, which is the most cost-effective way yet of getting our message out: Labels which activists can stick up on phone booths, restrooms, bulletin boards, buses, lampposts, walls, windows, supermarket shelves, anywhere. You can adapt our design and print and photocopy them yourself, or get them from us at our cost of only half a cent per label (15¢ per sheet of 30). Copy them on plain paper and slip them inside library books. Your imagination is the limit.

These designs are meant to warn the public against a new false flag terror attack - thus helping prevent one, and if one comes, to stiffen resistance against martial law and war on Iran. Please see for a gallery and more info. A sample design is attached.

What Does The Phrase "Conspiracy Theory" Mean?

By Jon Gold

As 9/11 family member Donna Marsh O'Connor said at the National Press Club on 9/11/2006, "this Government has made me a victim of Conspiracy Theories, because they haven't answered fully, or allowed anyone to ask the true questions of September 11th."

Instead of answering all of the questions put forward by the 9/11 Family Steering Committee, and others, the Government, through the media, has labeled those with questions as "Conspiracy Theorists", and several other "colorful" adjectives.

If you need some examples, here are a few:

"Let Us Never Tolerate Outrageous Conspiracy Theories"
Scientific American Takes On The 9/11 Conspiracy Nuts
March Of The Conspiracy Theorists
