On September 11, 2009, the Mayfair Theatre screened the Canadian theatrical premiere of Loose Change 9/11: An American Coup. After the film, Lee Demarbre, owner of the Mayfair and a film critic and filmmaker in his own right, talks about what he thought of the movie.

This is a personal view of the attacks of 9/11 from the perspective of a UK national.

A Sorry Indictment by Nick Mollo

The first time I came to believe that something might be suspect about the horrendous events of September 11th was with a live on-site report by Channel 4 News in England. The journalist stated that the downed plane (Flight 93) in Shanksville could conceivably have been shot down by an American fighter plane. This assumption was made by the reporter because the wreckage of Flight 93 was spread over what appeared to be a large area. This live report, to my knowledge, was not aired again and the official version of the passengers bringing down the plane to save further lives started to emerge and subsequently became the established unquestionable truth.

Other than my own controversial opinion, that Flight 93 was shot down by an American fighter, I never questioned the official version of events; that 19 terrorists masterminded by Osama Bin Laden had attacked America. The shock and awe of that terrible day was so convincing and the images so powerful that any alternative to the official version was out of the question.

Another year has passed, and we find ourselves reflecting on the events of September 11th, 2001. Throughout this past year, large strides have been made in the Movement's efforts to bring both closure and much-needed answers surrounding that day to all of those that were affected. The year 2009 brings a new version of our film: Loose Change 9/11 - An American Coup, narrated by Daniel Sunjata. Sunjata’s participation in American Coup provides not just a new voice for the film, but also establishes him as a strong and unwavering spokesperson for the 9/11 Truth Movement, who has even gone so far as to defend his beliefs as the character Franco in the fifth season of FX’s Rescue Me.

NB: In my last post I advertised that we would be showing Loose Change Second Edition at the Mayfair Theatre on 9/11/2009. Earlier today, Microcinema International was kind enough to offer us the ability to screen An American Coup, so we have updated our plans to accommodate the new film. Please note the time change. This will be my second year as stage manager for the film festival and I will use this blog to keep the readers apprised of the latest developments and information regarding the film festival. It was pointed out in the article, that it is rare for a federal judge to dismiss a suit this early in the process. Below are also links of a heated email exchange between Mark Cuban and the Dallas based SEC Attorney, Jeffrey Norris, which had occurred previous to any charges being filed by the SEC against Cuban. Norris accuses Mark Cuban of being un-American by contemplating the distribution of Loose Change Final Cut.
