NPR's Neal Conan, Talk of the Nation, censors talk on World Trade Center Building 7

http://youtu.be/-aDUSLRHdUU

WASHINGTON – June 28, 2013 – During Thursday’s final broadcast of NPR’s Talk of the Nation, outgoing host Neal Conan hung up on a caller from Florida who questioned the U.S. Government’s official explanation for the collapse of World Trade Center Building 7 on September 11, 2001.

Conan retired yesterday after 36 years with NPR after dismissing a caller’s concerns as “scientific nonsense”. But was he really saying that we can’t discuss 9/11 any further?

The official NPR transcript of the program replaced the words “false flag attack” with “falsified attack”.

The Washington Post, LA Times, USA Today, NPR, Stewart, Colbert, Fox News and host of U.S. lawmakers receive threatening letters

By Agence France-Presse
Thursday, February 23, 2012

WASHINGTON — Several US lawmakers received threatening letters containing a harmless white powder, but the sender warned more missives including a “harmful material” could follow, a Senate official said.

The news sparked alarm and served as a grim reminder of the 2001 anthrax attacks in which letters containing the deadly pathogen were sent to offices of two Democratic senators and several media offices. Five people were killed.

The anonymous sender “has indicated that additional letters containing a powdery substance will be arriving at more Senate offices,” Senate sergeant-at-arms Terrance Gainer said in a email to staff.

“Some of these letters may contain an actual harmful material,” he added, noting the missives were postmarked from Portland, Oregon.

Similar letters, which included complaints about corporate influence over US politics, also were received by several US media outlets, but they did not contain any white powder, said law enforcement officials quoted by US media.

The letters were received by organizations such as The Washington Post, The Los Angeles Times, USA Today, Fox News and National Public Radio, reports said.

CBS News quoted a law enforcement official as saying that in missives to comedians Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert, the sender warned that 100 letters were sent to the Washington or home-state offices of US senators.

In a new book, “I Heard the Sirens Scream” Pulitzer Prize winner Laurie Garrett gives her account of the World Trade Center attacks ten years ago, and tells how she thinks those events, combined with the anthrax attacks that came shortly after, changed the country’s course.

Not Going There: Predictable "What Was Learned From 9/11?" Stories

.

In the ongoing quest to define reality about the events of 9/11/01, the MSM is pretending to ask the public what they "learned" about 9/11, or as in the case with NPR, using the official story mouthpieces to simply tell the public their version. In response, so far, one person on a list I'm on wrote this:

"Yesterday NPR did a program on 9/11. The program’s title was “What We’ve Learned Since 9/11.” Being the dope I am, I called in and to the screener, I said that what I’ve learned is that 1,000 foot buildings can’t come down in 10 seconds. His response was, “We’re not even going to go there.” I hung up. What’s new?"

I wonder how many times that screener had to say that.

Drawing Lessons From 9/11, Ten Years Later
Talk of the Nation, June 28, 2011

Michael Chertoff, former secretary, U.S. Department of Homeland Security
Jane Harman, former chair, U.S. House Intelligence Committee
Amb. John Negroponte, former Director of National Intelligence
Thomas Friedman, columnist, New York Times

excerpt:

JANE HARMAN: What have I learned? Here are a few things. I was in Congress on 9/11, headed toward the dome of the Capitol where the intelligence rooms were then housed. They've since moved underground to a bunker that's called the National Visitors Center. But at the time we had no evacuation plan.

FOX News Presents WTC 7

Recently, two prominent articles were published – in opposing veins: “NPR & Trust in Government,” by Robert Shetterly (04/19), which called out NPR for allowing the propaganda operative Philip Zelikow to “frame [a] discussion” on “Trust in government,” while failing to note his long record of purposeful (world stage) obfuscation, including a treacherous role in the area of WTC 7, and “Shame On Jesse Ventura!,” by Jeffrey Scott Shapiro (another operative) (04/21), who asserts “that [Larry] Silverstein planned to use controlled demolition on WTC 7” – as if it’s common knowledge/no big deal. The focus here is on Shapiro’s brash, out of the blue, aggressiveness (under the cover of being clueless to the overall picture/consequences), while Shetterly’s should be read for many reasons: clarity, as a depiction of rare courage in our dominant landscape, and as a partial portrayal of how Timing works in our fabricated environment.

CommonDreams.org Finally (Mistakenly?) Presents Some 9/11 Truth

This is very surprising.
Common Dreams, a progressive internet website, has censored EVERYTHING relating to 9/11 Truth except a few mentions in which it mocked the whole 9/11 movement. (I was immediately banned from the comment section after just one innocuous comment, and remain banned after a couple of years).
But here we see in CommonDreams.org an article criticizing NPR for using Phillip Zelikow as a spokesman for focusing on Trust in Government.
Zelikow was the oversear of the 9/11 Commission, and used his power to ensure that the truth was ignored or avoided whereever possible.
And in this article, that was mentioned.
Here is an excerpt:

"What surprised me was what Ms. Hansen, and thus NPR, did not tell us about Mr. Zelikow. He was a neocon who worked very closely with Condoleezza Rice, Dick Cheney, and Carl Rove in the Bush administration. He was one of the primary authors of what has been called the Bush Doctrine -- the right of our country to make preemptive war on other countries in contradiction of international law and our own Constitution. During the Bush administration Zelikow defended the many lies that they told about the reasons for attacking Iraq. And he was put in charge of the 9/11 Commission, the committee that was supposed to tell the world what really happened on 9/11. He ran that committee so that the official version of events could not be questioned. He did not allow witnesses to testify who had seen and heard things that cast the official version into doubt. The commission totally ignored facts that made the official version untenable and it neglected to even mention that World Trade Center tower #7, not stuck by an airplane, also mysteriously collapsed that day."

This is either a big mistake, or things are changing.
I hope it is the latter.

Debunking Conspiracy Theories In 'Voodoo Histories'

When a co-worker told him that he believed Neil Armstrong's 1969 moon walk actually took place on a Hollywood soundstage, journalist David Aaronovitch was appalled. Aaronovitch had seen the moon landing on TV when he was a kid, and he couldn't believe anyone would think it was a hoax.

"He told me about the photographs that don't make sense, and the stars that aren't there, and the flag flapping in the nonexistent breeze, and so on," Aaronovitch tells Guy Raz.

At the time, Aaronovitch wasn't prepared with evidence to counter his co-worker's claim, but today he is. Aaronovitch spent six years looking into the details behind top conspiracy theories such as the faked Apollo moon landing and has come out with a new book to forensically debunk each of them.

Retouching History

On her June 4 program Diane Rehm's guest was ExpressJet pilot Lynn Spencer promoting her "inside" account of the purported 9/11 FAA/NORAD Keystone Cops debacle, "Touching History".

http://www.amazon.com/Touching-History-Untold-Unfolded-America/dp/1400107601

In the course of selling her book and the (latest) official narrative, Spencer nervously contradicted herself and repeated various breathtakingly false, easily-dismissed assertions about the aerial events of 9/11.

Incredibly, she echoed Rice's perjury that "no one had ever imagined terrorists using airliners as missiles", apparently unaware that even USA Today reported in 2004 that NORAD had conducted exercises based on this scenario, specifying targets including the World Trade Center.

Interview on NPR Conflates Mental Illness and non-Conformist 9/11 Thinking

On the NPR show [Justice Talking] on Jan 13, 2008, host Margot Adler interviewed former Washington Post reporter and Pulitzer Prize-nominated author Pete Earley on the topic of "Treatment Laws and the Mentally Ill" also titled "The Rights of the Mentally Ill." Earley described living with a son who has bipolar disorder and who at times was "off his medication." Earley recounted the difficulties of getting law enforcement and medical resource people to help his family and his son. The story is tragic and disheartening until the end when Earley tells Adler that he can accept the craziness of his son's thinking related to 9/11. Here is the transcript of the end of the interview in Earley's voice:
