Yet another 9/11 widow calls for new investigation

Interview with 9/11 family member Jane Pollicino, who lost her husband Steve Pollicino.

Jane courageously speaks out in favor of a proper investigation into her husband's murder, spurred by the NYC CAN petition drive. She was one of the 50+ volunteers who helped prove that enough voters legally signed the historic petition.

On the 27th of September, join NYC CAN and thousands of New Yorkers as they converge on the streets of the City to demand an impartial investigation into the events of Sept. 11, 2001. Jane is the reason why so many of us actively pursue Justice and Accountability.

9/11 Families To March on City Hall As City Seeks to Stop Fresh Probe of Attacks From Going On November Ballot

New York City – On Sunday, September 27 at 2pm, The New York City Coalition for Accountability Now (NYC CAN), a group comprising 9/11 family members, first responders and survivors, will march from Battery Park to City Hall in protest of the City’s attempt to block the referendum for a fresh probe of the 9/11 attacks from going on the November ballot.

The effort to establish a local commission to pick up where the 9/11 Commission left off comes just as the 9/11 Commission’s Chief Counsel John Farmer released a book entitled “The Ground Truth” in which he claims “at some level of government, at some point in time… there was an agreement not to tell the truth about what happened.”

A Message For All Those Who Want The Wars To End

(MAKE IT GO VIRAL)

MARCH FOR ANSWERS Sunday, September 27 2pm Battery Park to City Hall.

Meet Bob McIlvaine.

Bob's son Bobby was killed on 9/11.

Bob knows that his son's death is the pretext for the wars the US government has waged since 9/11. Bob stood by helplessly as the White House official who wrote the Preemptive War strategy, Philip Zelikow, went on to run the 9/11 Commission's investigation into his son's murder. Is it a conflict of interest that the same Bush insider who wrote the policy of Preemptive War also wrote the pretext justifying that policy? Is his word good in your book?

Not in Bob's book. That's why on Sunday, September 27 Bob will march alongside the 80,000 New Yorkers who have called for a new 9/11 investigation; one that will NOT be run by those who advocate wars.

He hopes you will too.

March For Answers
September 27, 2009 2pm Battery Park

80,000 New Yorkers have signed a petition to place a referendum for a new 9/11 investigation on this November’s ballot. Over 100 victims’ family members are leading this call, and are joined by dozens of first responders and survivors.

The city government is now attempting to silence the voice of the people by challenging the legality of the petition. NYC CAN, the sponsoring organization, is not backing down, and a legal battle with the City has unfolded. Click to read NYC CAN's legal memo.

In a truly democratic society, this monumental democratic statement and subsequent attempt to silence the voices of 80,000 voters would be widely reported in the media. In our society, such monumental efforts only register if they have the vocal support of people like you.

Now is our chance. This Sunday, September 27 at 2pm, supporters of this historic initiative will march from Battery Park past Ground Zero and the State Supreme Court all the way to the steps of City Hall.

80,000 New Yorkers have signed the petition. As with every other NYC ballot initiative, the City of New York is denying the will of its people to vote on the issues it considers most important.

NYC CAN responded by filing suit, and on September 9 the City conceded NYC CAN did in fact submit enough valid signatures to put the referendum before the voters. Now NYC CAN is battling to prove the petition is legally valid. On September 28, the referee will report on the petition's legality, and a final determination will be made in the days that follow.

City Of New York Concedes 9/11 Coalition Has 30,000 Valid Signatures To Put Referendum For 9/11 Investigation On November Ballot

NYC CAN Breaking News Bulletin - FORWARD WIDELY
September 10, 2009

New York – In a last minute decision, lawyers for the City of New York have conceded that the New York City Coalition for Accountability Now (NYC CAN), a group comprising 9/11 family members, first responders and survivors, indeed did submit over 30,000 valid signatures to put the referendum for a new 9/11 investigation before the voters of New York City this November.

In an earlier letter from the City Clerk dated July 24, 2009, the City had claimed only 26,003 signatures were valid, 3,997 short of the requisite 30,000. The City’s concession that over 30,000 of the 52,000 signatures submitted were in fact valid paves the way for lawyers from both sides to argue the legality of petition.

NYC CAN needs volunteers!

NYC CAN News Bulletin - FORWARD WIDELY
August 10, 2009

Today we began the signature review, and with much promise! The first step: to do a recount of the signatures the Board of Elections did validate. And, after counting only 5 out of 52 volumes, we have found the Board of Elections reported 229 signatures fewer than what they actually validated inside the volumes. If their count continues to be off at the same rate, we will gain some 2,300 signatures - SIMPLY BY RECOUNTING THE ONES THAT WERE ALREADY VALIDATED. And we have already identified one petitioner who collected hundreds of signatures and was wrongly invalidated, along with all the signatures he gathered! And there are thousands of invalidated signatures ripe for challenging because the signer is on the voter roll but put their wrong address - these signatures will also be deemed valid if the signature on the petition matches the signature on their voter registration form.

In short, we have every reason to be optimistic that we will eclipse the 30,000 requirement, and that we will have our day in court to argue our right to establish a new commission to investigate 9/11.

The eighth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks is a month away and some survivors of those lost believe it's a good time to renew an investigation into the events of that disastrous day. New York City disagrees.

"We know we never have learned the truth, it's as simple as that,'' says Lorie Van Auken of East Brunswick, one of the most ardent supporters of the creation of the 9/11 commission in 2002. It was headed by former New Jersey governor Thomas H. Kean.

"Members and staff of the 9/11 commission have said many of the questions raised by the attacks have never been answered.''

Van Auken was a founding member of Sept. 11 Advocates, originally a group of four New Jersey widows whose husbands were killed that day. The group, informally called "the Jersey girls,'' successfully lobbied for the creation of the commission.

Please support NYC CAN

Dear 9/11 Truth Movement Supporters,

As authors of the recent mainstream scientific articles relating to events at the World Trade Center, we urge you to support a tremendous opportunity for getting the truth out about 9/11.

On Wednesday, June 24, 2009, the New York City Coalition for Accountability Now (NYC CAN) filed a petition containing 52,000 signatures calling for a referendum on the creation of a New York City independent commission to begin an investigation with subpoena power. Unlike the first 9/11 Commission, this one will consider all of the evidence, including evidence for the use of explosives in bringing down the buildings.

This is what many of us have been working toward for years. With a new commission, our scientific evidence can be used to achieve real results.

NYC CAN now needs only 20,000 more signatures to override City Council if the referendum is vetoed. If NYC CAN gets the signatures the referendum will go on the ballot, and surely New York City will vote in favor of a new investigation. Please donate now so that this new investigation can happen: http://nyccan.org/donate.php

9/11 Truth comes home; Pols back new investigation

9/11 Truth comes home; Pols back new investigation

By Frank Morales

It’s spring 2009 in New York City and an unannounced U.S. government plane streaks across town. Recollecting the horrors of 9/11, the incident scares the heebie-jeebies out of the citizenry. Meanwhile, U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer, while attending an April 18 “Tour of the Battenkill” annual bicycle race in Cambridge, N.Y., responds to a question regarding efforts here to establish a new 9/11 investigation. Lending his qualified support to such an inquiry, he says that he’s positively disposed toward a new investigation into the events of 9/11, though his support for such a probe would depend on the form it would take. “I think it’s not a bad idea,” he said. “You know, you’ve got to do it in a good way, but, yes, I’d be for it.”

NYC CAN welcomes foreign donations

Yesterday i asked, in reply to the blog about NYC CAN obtaining 40,000 signatures, if they would allow donations from non-US citizens. Also, SnowCrash asked if they could put up their bank info to allow people to wire transfer donations. Since nobody replied I decided to email NYC CAN and received this reply:

Hi [......],
Yes, anyone is allowed to donate. The effects of 9/11 have been felt worldwide, and hundreds of non-US citizens were murdered on that day, so we don't care what the media says about non-US citizens donating.
I would have to consult other people before deciding to put our bank info on the website. I have no knowledge of the subject, but it seems like it could be a security issue. So far we've not had any trouble with paypal.
Thanks for your support.
Best Regards,
Ted Walter
