CAIRO, Egypt -- Osama bin Laden plans a new video to be released in the coming days ahead of the sixth anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks in what would be the first new images of the terror mastermind in nearly three years, al-Qaida's media arm announced Thursday.

The al-Qaida leader has not appeared in new video footage since Oct. 29, 2004, and he has not put out a new audiotape in more than a year.

Osama a myth, couldn't be behind 9/11: bin Laden guru

By Manish Chand

Khartoum, Sep 4 (IANS) "Osama bin Laden could not have plotted the WTC attacks. Neither did Al Qaeda. It's all a myth created by the West," says Sheikh Hassan Abdallah al-Turbai, the charismatic Sudanese Islamist ideologue who hosted and mentored bin Laden in Khartoum in the early 1990s.

"He came here not to fight. He was building roads and airports and bridges in Sudan. He was a simple man. He could not have done it," Turabi said emphatically to a visiting IANS correspondent when asked whether he thought bin Laden was the key architect of the 9/11 bombings of the World Trade Centre (WTC) in New York that shook the world nearly six years ago. "Anyone who comes here is welcome. Yes, he was angry with the Americans and the British. But he is not the man behind Al Qaeda. Bin Laden comes from southern Saudi Arabia. He hasn't travelled a lot. He is alone," said Turabi, whose niece is married to bin Laden.

Afghanistan 2001 Invasion - Who were we really after ?

There is a current news report "U.S.: Military alone can't beat Taliban" by Chris Brummitt, AP writer at the link below.
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070830/ap_on_re_as/afghanistan_taliban;_ylt=AjMXUTNm4cfk0mDIq3aXwMpbbBAF

The source of the information included in the article is from Maj. Gen. Robert Cone, a top U.S. commander who noted that most insurgencies end with a political solution.

The article states in part: "Hundreds of former members of the hard-line Taliban regime, including a sprinkling of former senior commanders and officials, have reconciled with the government since they were ousted from power in the U.S.-led invasion in 2001."

Am I wrong in believing that we were originally told that we invaded Afghanistan chasing Osama Bin Laden and his Saudi Arabian hijackers, er, Al-CIAda?

Condi, Osama and Lee, and a Good Question for Investigative Reporters

Last year at about this time, 9/11 Commission chairman Lee Hamilton was interviewed by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. This interview is incredible, to say the least, and represents an outstanding example of the need for 9/11 truth.

http://www.cbc.ca/sunday/911hamilton.html

At the time, Hamilton was trying to sell his new book, “Without Precedent", in which he and co-chairman Thomas Kean described how frustrated they were with repeated misstatements by the Defense Department and the Federal Aviation Agency during the investigation, and how they considered an investigation into possible deception.

But the interview also showed how utterly clueless Hamilton actually was, and apparently still is today, about the most basic aspects of the events of 9/11.

When asked about the demolition hypothesis, Hamilton said – “The charge that dynamite, or whatever, brought down the World Trade Towers, we of course looked at very carefully - we find no evidence of that. We find all kinds of evidence that it was the airplanes that did it.”

Hamilton then clarified – “What caused the collapse of the buildings, to summarize it, was that the super-heated jet fuel melted the steel super-structure of these buildings and caused their collapse.”

For those who don’t know, only Osama bin Laden himself still promotes the “super-heated jet fuel melted the steel super-structure” theory, or so says the US State department. According to Ms. Rice’s debunking page “The Top September 11 Conspiracy Theories”, Osama claimed in his confession video that “Due to my experience in this field, I was thinking that the fire from the gas in the plane would melt the iron structure of the building.”

Possible New Message From Osama Bin Laden

With the recent reports from Chertoff, GOP Congressmen, etc. it seems all the pieces are in place, enter the boogeyman.

ABC: The Blotter

July 14, 2007 3:37 PM
Rhonda Schwartz and Hoda Osman Report:

A brief clip of an older-looking Osama bin Laden is contained in a new al Qaeda videotape praising al Qaeda martyrs posted on jihadi Web sites early this morning.

Experts who study al Qaeda videos told ABC News they had not previously seen the clip of bin Laden, which was released with little fanfare and contains no date references, but say it is most likely an unreleased portion of an earlier message.

The al Qaeda leader speaks of martyrdom for roughly one minute as he addresses an unseen group in a mountainous location, wearing fatigues, a watch and ring, and with extensive gray in his beard.

The clip is part of a 40-minute film "Scent of Heaven" from al Qaeda's as Sahab video propaganda arm discovered on the Internet by Laura Mansfield of Strategic Translations.

Intel Official: Bush Knows Where bin Laden Is Hiding But Chooses Not to Capture Him

by Jon Ponder | Jul. 14, 2007

Apologists for Pres. George W. Bush routinely lay blame for the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on the Clinton administration, purportedly because they failed to capture Osama bin Ladin when they had an opportunity in the 1990s.

But since 2005, at least, the Bush administration has known the whereabouts of bin Ladin as well as the much of al Qaeda’s senior leadership, and yet the president refuses to send forces in to get them.

In congressional testimony earlier this week, intelligence officials admitted that bin Laden and his gang are in Pakistan and gaining strength, but that the Bush administration refuses to go after them because the Musharraf regime won’t give the United States permission to conduct operations in the region:

Local filmmaker offers 'Proof' of 9/11 conspiracy

LANCASTER, Pa. - When asked who perpetrated the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, most people point to the shadowy figure of Osama bin Laden and the al-Qaida network.

But a growing number of people in the United States and around the world are going back to ask hard questions about what happened that day more than five years ago.

Sunday, a group of 50 people gathered in a small basement room in the Schuler Learning Resource Center at Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology evening to watch the premiere of local filmmaker Stewart Bradley's updated action/documentary film "The Proof" as part of the Lancaster Industrial Workers of the World "Radical Film Night."

Bradley spent more than six months putting together the movie, which talks about information regarding the Sept. 11 attacks and the possibility of a conspiracy reaching the highest levels of the government.

Osama Bin Laden May Have Chartered Saudi Flight Out Of U.S. After 9/11

The real question is, who authorized those flights?

In August 2004, the 9/11 Commission released an addendum to their report. CNN Reports:

"The commission states that all the Saudi nationals were screened by the FBI to make certain they were not a threat to national security, and that no terrorists escaped from the United States on any of the Saudi flights."

According to Richard Clarke during his testimony at both the Senate Judiciary Committee, and the 9/11 Commission Hearings, he stated the following:

Senate Judiciary Committee
“Now, what I recall is that I asked for flight manifests of everyone on board and all of those names need to be directly and individually vetted by the FBI before they were allowed to leave the country.* And I also wanted the FBI to sign off even on the concept of Saudis being allowed to leave the country. And as I recall, all of that was done. It is true that members of the Bin Laden family were among those who left.* We knew that at the time. I can't say much more in open session, but it was a conscious decision with complete review at the highest levels of the State Department and the FBI and the White House.” Testimony of Richard Clarke, Former Counterterrorism Chief, National Security Council, before The Senate Judiciary Committee, September 3, 2003."

Muckraker: CIA letter supports assertion that OBL “confession video” was a sting operation

Just saw this and thought I post it. I'm leaning more toward the author's arguments, although this is obviously a rather controversial subject, open to speculation and interpretation.

CIA letter supports assertion that OBL “confession video” was a sting operation
http://www.ichblog.eu/content/view/1709/1/

The controversy over the "Fatty Bin Laden" in the tape is not going away. I always thought the "confession tape" had a fake Bin Laden too, until reading Muckraker's report here:

Taking the fat out of the fat bin Laden confession video
http://muckrakerreport.com/id372.html

That report explains the aspect ratio problem with the video, as well as other things, like the gold ring, etc. It's truly an eye-opener. That doesn't mean this report supports the Official Conspiracy Theory by any means though. The author, Ed Haas, asserts that this BushCo is guilty of treason. Read and discuss please!

Taming the beast!

April 2, 2007 -- The neo-conservatives’ six years in power have turned the country into a ferocious beast, despised more than feared by the people of the world, except for certain client governments, while domestically, the country is no longer recognizable by the staunchest of patriots as their place of birth.

In November 2006, the country spoke and voted into power their only alternative, the Democrats, and tasked them with finding a way out of Iraq and preventing wider wars.

Pelosi surrendered impeachment, the only weapon the Democrats had, before the elections, and by bowing to the wishes of AIPAC, took out any language from the appropriation bill that would force Bush to come to Congress prior to any military action against Iran; again ceding the power to wage war to an irresponsible president. Pelosi tells us that such language is not good for Israel.

The Neo-cons, with AIPAC clearly on their side and the Democrats at bay, are not too concerned.

Iraq war anniversary misses 9/11 focus

Medina-Gazette - Mar 20 12:04 AM

Iraq war anniversary misses 9/11 focus

It's the fourth anniversary of the start of the Iraq War. It also feels like the anniversary of the end of our national focus on bringing the architect of 9/11 to justice.

Just a quick tour of the numbers, to help us get our bearings.

According to the Pentagon, there are about 27,000 U.S. troops in Afghanistan — the highest number since the October 2001 invasion. They are part of a NATO-led force of around 50,000. According to the Department of Defense, there have been 369 American service personnel killed in Afghanistan, as well as 676 who were wounded and unable to return to action.

In Iraq, there are upwards of 142,000 U.S. troops. The Associated Press puts the current number killed at 3,217. Those wounded and unable to go back: 10,685, according to the DOD.

Bin Laden’s Confession; is that what it is?

March 15, 2007 -- The tape released by the Pentagon on December 13, 2001 in which Osama Bin Laden is seen describing the events of 9/11 to a paraplegic visitor, Khaled Al-Harbi, is as close to a confession of prior knowledge as anyone is going to get at a dinner gathering.

Bin Laden: So if the plane hits the building here [gestures with hands], the portion of the building above will collapse. That was the most we could hope for, the most we expected: that the floors above the point of entry would fall. We were at one of the canyons at the time of the event, and we knew since Thursday that it would be on Tuesday. So we had the radio on.

That is enough for me, still, there are those who doubt and might say, well, the event had already taken place and Bin Laden knew enough detail to make up a story and take credit. Yes, there are those who might say that and for various reasons.

Al-Qaida No. 3 says he planned 9/11

Al-Qaida No. 3 says he planned 9/11

By KATHERINE SHRADER, Associated Press Writer

Khalid Sheikh Mohammed confirmed his notoriety as al-Qaida's most ambitious operational planner when, according to military transcripts, he confessed to planning and supporting 31 terrorist attacks, topped by 9/11, that killed thousands of innocent victims since the early 1990s.

The gruesome attacks range from the suicide hijackings of Sept. 11, 2001 — which killed nearly 3,000 — to a 2002 shooting on an island off Kuwait that killed a U.S. Marine.

Many plots, including a previously undisclosed plan to kill several former U.S. presidents, were never carried out or were foiled by international counterterror authorities.
