Dear Friends:

Like Annie Savoy, we all share something in common - a self-awareness of deception, of knowing our fellow countrymen remain deceived. Many of us still feel the angst, anger, and frustration that comes with knowing the guilty remain unpunished and that the masses and media refuse to see what lies hidden in plain sight. We toss rocks at ponds, never registering a splash.

As an author, I often write about good versus evil and the journey of the hero, who must reveal the truth against all odds in order to right a wrong. There is no doubt that a great evil was committed on September 11, 2001, but the entire truth has yet to be revealed. Why is the truth so important? Because the domino effect of 9/11 led to two wars that wiped out over a million innocent people who had nothing to do with September 11th, and there has yet to be a single firing or reprimand in regard to intelligence failures that allowed 3,000 Americans to be murdered.

Democracy is an illusion if the people refuse to make our leaders accountable. An open free society cannot exist in a vacuum controlled by the media. Real patriotism is not a noun, it is a verb.

Each of us has a choice: We can either shrug our shoulders and remain indifferent, or demand a real investigation. As a patriotic American, I fully support the New York City Coalition for Accountability Now, which has one simple yet important goal: the creation of an independent and impartial subpoena powered investigation into the September 11th attacks.

The 2008 Spring Membership Drive at KRFC 88.9 FM presented a great opportunity for the launch of the first Week of Truth campaign, The National The Shell Game Buy In Week of Truth, April 16th – 22nd, 2008. 

As I have pledged, Visibility 9-11 will be purchasing 10 copies of The Shell Game, by Steve Alten during the Week of Truth.  As I considered what I would do with these 10 books, it occurred to me that KRFC was right in the middle of their bi-annual fund raising drive and that it might be possible to get on as co-host of Words of Freedom for a special episode of the show.  My plan was to donate the 10 books to the station, offer them as a premium gift to contributors, and have Steve Alten on as a guest to kick off the Week of Truth buy in for The Shell Game.  Long story short, David Peterson at KRFC gladly found me a 30 minute spot during the fund drive.  This interview is a result of that collaboration.

In 2008, the American people are more dangerously naïve than they ever were in the 18th Century, their imagination for evil dangerously circumscribed and manipulated so that the threat to national security seems to always come from without, never from within. Times best selling novelist, Steve Alten, author of, "The Shell Game," was recently shocked and dumbfounded that he’d become the victim of harassment, when someone not only put a map of his home and his personal private phone number and home address up on the internet, . . . but also either remotely accessed or intercepted personal private email between he and his publicist . . .

Commercial fiction and 9/11 truth have formed a strange marriage, and a mutually beneficial relationship. The original 40,000 book print run of “The Shell Game” is almost sold out even before the book has even hit the bookstores. A big part of that success may be from the growing support of the 9/11 truth community who has come to largely enthusiastically realize, although for a few some times begrudgingly, that “The Shell Game” will, in the end, help draw a much larger audience to the 9/11 truth movement.
