They gave him a pretty fair coverage. Ratings show that it was watched by 690.000 people. It was shot in July, during Williams visit to Amsterdam for the Last Man Out tour.

911 and the Propaganda Model

The need to deter democracy by alienating public opinion from public policy, is one that has been long understood. Back in 1921, the highly influential political columnist and media analyst Walter Lippmann, wrote the book “Public Opinion”,where he discussed the need for the “manufacture of consent”; given the inherent pitfalls and barriers to an accurate and effective public opinion (democracy, essentially), it is necessary that this opinion is crafted by a higher sphere of influence. This was understood very well by Edward Bernays, who was the founder of Public Relations (he indeed coined the term), and the formulator of not just corporate, but also political PR. He sketches out his views on this in his 1928 work, "Propaganda where he states that “The conscious and intelligent manipulation of the organized habits and opinions of the masses is an important element in democratic society”, suggesting like Lippmann, that democracy is a “chaos” that needs regulation from above. This “above” is a small section of elites: “We are governed, our minds are molded, our tastes formed, our ideas suggested, largely by men we have never heard of.” These are the people who will ensure that the masses are sedated, and free to run their daily lives, without participating in the broader picture of public policy, given the dangers that this would pose to the influence of said elites, and thus the smooth functioning of society. To paraphrase Bernays, a leader must serve by leading, not lead by serving.

A TRUE HERO ON 9/11 AND BEYOND

William Rodriguez brought his firsthand 9/11 experience to the landmark Lakewood Theater in Dallas, TX last night. Organized by North Texans for 911 Truth, Rodriguez led the audience through his remarkable day at the Towers, and spoke about his last European tour, which wound up being a mini-World Tour, as he was invited to Malaysia just last weekend to speak to many top politicians in that country, as well as a very interested citizenry.

Rodriguez spoke well of his UK experience (his second tour of the UK in the past year) and reported on how his banned media appearance in Grange turned into a media coup, as he drew the largest crowd of the tour. Rodriguez made it onto George Galloway's The Real Deal, along the way, and did a couple radio spots as well.

It really is a positive and powerful experience to see and hear Rodriguez convey his message of bravery, survival and perseverance as a champion of the survivors of the WTC destruction. If you have only seen Rodriguez on video, and the opportunity to see him live comes your way, I highly recommend taking advantage of the opportunity to meet this remarkable and very personable man. (A reminder: Rodriguez is in Austin tonight.)

Following Rodriguez, Josh Reeves premiered his documentary, New World Rising, which was well-received, and which I need to take a closer look at now that I have a DVD copy. :)

A Muslim man left his car overnight in a parking garage on July 5, 2007. When he went to go retrieve it on the 6th, he was detained by a phalanx of police, ushered to a van and interrogated. The bomb squad was on the scene, seriously considering detonating his car.

They saw a power inverter sitting in the backseat, but what apparently put the situation over the top was that the man had a flyer advertising William Rodriguez's speaking tour sitting beside the inverter in the backseat. The flyer was described to the man as "terrorist literature" by the police during his interrogation.

Twin towers survivor’s visit and talk a success

A PEACE campaigner says the recent visit to Grange by an American who was the last to escape from the 9/11 Twin Towers attack in New York proved a success.

Penny Pullen, from Kirkhead Road, helped arrange the visit to Grange to address a public meeting by twin towers hero William Rodriguez.

The visit of the American janitor, who believes there was a conspiracy involving the US government in the 9/11 attacks, hit controversy when he was banned from a Grange hotel.

Mr Rodriguez was told he was not welcome at the Graythwaite Manor Hotel because of his “political views”.

For the last two months, William Rodriguez has been presenting all over the UK, and into Europe, in France and Germany.

Hotel bans 9/11 hero

A conspiracy theorist who survived the 9/11 attacks has been banned from a Grange hotel over his controversial views.

Decorated hero William Rodriguez, who believes the US government were behind the attacks, has been told he is not welcome at Graythwaite Manor Hotel because of his “political views”.

Mr Rodriguez, a former janitor credited with saving countless lives on 9/11, is due to give a talk on his experiences at the Victoria Hall in Grange tonight (july 5) as part of his European lecture tour.

In February, Mr Rodriguez planted a tree in the grounds of Graythwaite Manor to remember those who died on September 11, 2001, when terrorists flew jets into the Twin Towers.

He was due back at the hotel tonight and tomorrow night as the guest of owners Jimmy and Jane Duncan.

But in a press statement yesterday, Graythwaite Manor Hotel said he would no longer be staying there.

Mr Rodriguez's lecture was organised by Cumbria 9/11 Truth and Peace Group, which also holds controversial views on September 11.

Five times honoured hero and last man out of the Twin Towers, William Rodriguez, was scheduled to speak in Peterborough, UK, until event organisers were forced to cancel.

William Rodriguez is currently embarking on a European tour, covering much of the UK.

The event venue in Peterborough, the Bull Hotel, has been inundated with telephone calls and emails requesting an explanation from annoyed members of the public, as it is completely unacceptable to ban a real hero who saved hundreds of lives during the horrific events of 9/11.

9/11 survivor calls for new inquiry

CONSPIRACY theorists marched through Ipswich town centre campaigning for an investigation into the 9/11 terror attacks.

Around 15 people from the Ipswich Truth Campaign took part in the march on Saturday where they denounced the official story of the 2001 atrocity as a “pack of lies”.

The event was also designed to raise awareness of a talk being given in Ipswich by William Rodriguez, a janitor working at the World Trade Centre on September 11 who was later decorated for his heroism in rescuing survivors.

Mr Rodriguez claims he heard an explosion prior to the plane striking the North Tower and believes it was in fact the US government which was behind the attacks.

Carl Friar, march co-organiser, said: “There should be a reinvestigation into 9/11 because we don't have all the information.
