9/11 Justified Iraq through Cognitive Association
Lets play a game.
I'll say a bunch of words over and over and over again, and you tell me if they are related.
Iraq, Terrorism, 9/11, Saddam Hussein, Al-Queida, Terrorism, WMD, 9/11, Osama bin Laden, Iraq, Terrorism, 9/11..
Then I will repeat it over and over and over again some more. Next thing you know, all of it is tied together in your brain. Psychologically you will now associate all of these issues together. This is exactly what justified the Iraq war.
Even our president associates Iraq and 9/11:
We are at war because of 9/11 attacks: Bush
"We went to war because we were attacked, and we are at war today because there are still people out there who want to harm our country and hurt our citizens," Bush said in his weekly radio address.
So let me get this straight. PNAC urged Clinton to attack Iraq in January of 1998. PNAC is made up of members like Wolfowitz, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Perle, Armitage, etc. And on the very day of 9/11 Rumsfeld, and others, are already pushing for information to tie 9/11 to Iraq. 9/11 is then used to push into Iraq, and we shouldn't question this administrations 'want' for a 9/11 type attack?
In fact, PNAC wanted a major revival in military spending, but saw that as impossible without it being justified by a 'New Pearl Harbor' type attack.
So lets play another association game.

PNAC wanted a 'New Pearl Harbor'.
PNAC wanted 9/11.
To them, 9/11 was a necessary sacrifice for what they wanted. Arguing that they allowed 9/11 to happen is EASY. Unfortunately, even arguing that they made it happen, and facilitated it happening, is just as easy as well.
