Help

We will post some helpful tips here for those having issues with the site. If you have any specific issues be sure to post them in the comments so that we can address them in this section.

Tip: Staying on top of new content
The easiest way to stay on top of what new comments, blog entries, and events are being added is to make use of the tracker tab above. Clicking on the tracker tab shows you where the latest comments are.

Issue: Center column to small to be able to use comments effectively
This issue affects users who are using low resolution display settings. Users who are using 800x600 or lower resolutions will not see this site as it was intended, and should consider increasing their screen resolution as more and more websites are using 800x600 as the bare minimum to view them.

Solution 1: You can adjust your resolution settings in Windows by goint to Start > Control Panel > Display > Settings > Screen Resolution. We would suggest at least a size of 1024x768, but the higher the resolution the easier it will be to navigate the new site and comments. (for the record the creator of this site uses 1600x1200 on one test machine, and 1280x1024 on another).

Solution 2: You can instead make use of a fixed width theme which forces the webpage to never go below the suggested size. This will cause you to have a horizontal scrollbar, but it will give you the screen real estate needed to use the site effectively. The font size for comments is also reduced in this theme so that low resolution users don't have to do as much scrolling. You can enable this theme by logging in, going to 'my account', 'edit', 'theme configuration', and choosing the theme '911bloggerCSS_1024fixed'.

Issue: Browser Incompatibility
We recommend Firefox Firefox or Opera.

How to add images to blogs:

Option 1 - RECOMMENDED: Re-sample your jpeg to no more than 450 pixels wide at 72dpi. Upload to a free service like Photobucket. Copy and paste the automatically generated HTML code into your blog and submit.

Option 2 - Attach the picture via the "File attachments" button below your blog entry interface. This will generate a URL showing where the picture is. Using HTML (technically XHTML), substitute the URL for the one depicted in the example on this page: http://www.htmldog.com/reference/htmltags/img/ --- and place the HTML on the blog exactly where you want the image to appear. Unfortuately, you cannot preview it. You must publish it. You can always edit later. This kicks the blog back into the moderation queue.

Blog Posting Delay??

Hi... is there a delay after you submit a blog or should it appear in your list immediately? Just curious if my submission failed and I need to post again.

Thanks ~ PJ

Yes.

Blog entries go into a moderation queue for review.

Hi, how do I edit my blog post after it is posted?

I see no link. Thanks.

Yes

Good question.
In the old days that was possible.

Best regards.

Once you are in the 'blogs' section;

Click on the 'my blog' button, just below the 'blogs' tab;

Below the 'my blog' button, you will now see an edit button.

Click the button.

Make the edits.

Re-submit.

The blog entry now goes back into the moderation queue, and will be re-posted, usually within a day or so.

Blog entry break-off point

There was some kind of tag or comment marker that is used by the blogging module to determine where a blog entry breaks off (say if it's published on the front page).

Do you happen to remember what that tag/marker was? It's helpful to assist the admins with where to break off the blog entry (the point where people have to click on the blog entry to read more).

If you find it, please publish it in the help somewhere. (Unless you don't want it documented of course ;-)

Many thanks

About the pictures. One must be very dedicated to the cause, to upload pictures.

Your best bet is to set up an account at a free image hosting site like Photobucket, and then link your images via the provided HTML.

Open Letter to J. Daniels, President of Nat'l Sept.11 Memorial

Mr. Joseph Daniels, President,
National September 11 Memorial & Museum,
One Liberty Plaza,
New York

Dear Mr. Daniels,

I read a Reuters press release of Septembe 11, 2009, according to which your Establishment, dedicated to the Sept. 11 attacks, would display photographs of the "19 hijackers" of 9/11, and present "facts" focusing on "what happened" on 9/11, "why it happened and what does it mean to live a in 9/11 world."

I am aware that among the Board Members of your Museum are prominent businesspeople and politicians that may have a vested interest to represent the US government view on the events of 9/11.

I respectfully wish to point out to you, Mr. Daniels, that your plans might in the future cause you nightmares and render your establishment extremely controversial.

The reason for my concern is that you and your colleagues appear to rely entirely on the official account on 9/11, as presented by the US government, its agencies and the 9/11 Commission.

Such reliance is unwarranted because there is no evidence - whatsoever - that the official account on 9/11 bears any resemblance to reality. First, there exists no evidence that 19 Muslim fanatics boarded aircraft that they later hijacked and flew into the known landmarks. Thus, posting the photographs of the alleged "hijackers" at your Museum would constitute an act of defamation of innocent individuals, whose guilt was never proved, and more generally a form of racial incitement against Muslims, none of whom were proved to participate in the mass murder. Secondly, the official explanation regarding the disintegration of World Trade towers is being disputed by a growing constituency of architects and engineers, whose expertise is beyond doubt. To disregard the voices of this constituency would jeopardize your noble project.

I wholeheartedly share the wish of 9/11 families to create a memorial for the victims that would present the truth on the events, as well as the motives of the perpetrators and their identities. This purpose cannot be accomplished, however, in a partial manner, and by disregarding findings by thousands of independent scholars and concerned citizens that undermine the official account of the events. This growing constituency, going by the name of the 9/11 truth movement, will certainly not remain silent if your establishment's role is to be the promotion of untruths, as it appears to be from public declarations.

I urge you and your colleagues to seek the cooperation of the 9/11 truth movement, in order to secure that your establishment retain a wide consensus within the United States and world-wide and serve faithfully the families of the victims and society in general. In this regard, you might wish to contact leading members of this movement, such as Prof. David Ray Griffin (California), Prof. Niels Harrit of the University of Copenhagen, Producer Barrie Zwicker (Canada) and Architect Richard Gage (California). The website Patriots for 9/11 Truth may also provide names of individuals from all walks of life, who might be sought to help establish a credible memorial project about 9/11.

I would be thankful for your reaction to my appeal.

Sincerely yours,

Elias Davidsson
