...Two Years Later
It's been two years since the publication of the 9/11 Commission Report. The Executive Director of the Commission was Philip D. Zelikow. According to journalist Paul Sperry, in effect, Zelikow set the agenda for the Commission and ran the investigation. He didn't need a vote. This is confirmed by Peter Lance, and fleshed out in some detail by Bryan Sacks.
It's been one year since Rep. Cynthia McKinney held a Congressional Briefing called "THE 9/11 COMMISSION REPORT ONE YEAR LATER: A CITIZENS’ RESPONSE – DID THE COMMISSION GET IT RIGHT?" I have several transcripts from the Briefing on my GNN blog, and I invite you to check out McKinney's "Opening Remarks", and testimony from Lorie Van Auken, Mel Goodman, Paul Thompson, John Newman, Anne Norton, Nafeez Ahmed, Ray McGovern, and David MacMichaels.
Michael Ruppert was there as a panel member, and although he didn't testify, he did go the furthest in condemning the government while addressing Mel Goodman;
Professor Goodman, you and I will forever and strenuously disagree about a couple of things, one of which is your statement that these were blunders and they were personal and not institutional, I will go to my grave and I believe my book documents the irrefutable case that the "mistakes" made were intentional, and they were both personal and systemic... you made a brief reference to Pearl Harbor, and there is a book by... Stinnet... "Day of Deceit" with FOIA release of documents showing that we had broken the Japanese codes prior to Pearl Harbor, knew the attacks were going to take place, and allowed them to happen, I go further with respect to 9/11, arguing that we facilitated the attacks, we'll never agree on that...
(Incidentally, the From the Wilderness offices in Oregon were ransacked last month, here is an update on that terrible development.)
To date, McKinney remains the only lawmaker to offer serious criticism of the Commission report specifically, in the setting of a Congressional Briefing, and has entered excerpts from the Briefing into the Congressional Record.
A remarkable achievement that she will always be honored for.

Yes, sir. That certainly looks like Lower Manhatten after one (or both) towers erupted.
By the way the men become startled, the way they turn to look, and with the fireman saying to move back because of "explosions," I would conclude that it is real.
I'm no Steven Jones, but my guess is it was one of the more conventional explosives used in tandem with the incendiaries like thermate, to bring down the 2nd tower.

Last 9-11 Detainee Released From Lockup

NEW YORK (AP) -- An Algerian man believed to be the last domestic detainee still in custody from a national dragnet after Sept. 11 - and who was cleared of links to terrorism in November 2001 - was set free this week, his lawyer said Friday.
Benemar Benatta, 32, went to Ontario, Canada, where he is seeking political asylum, after being released from a Buffalo immigration lockup Thursday, attorney Catherine Amirfar said.
"After five years, he had become all but hopeless," she said. "Now he's cautiously optimistic."
Benatta was among 1,200 mostly Arab and Muslim men detained nationwide as potential suspects or witnesses in the investigation following the terrorist attacks. The government has refused to discuss their fate, but human rights groups have said they believed the former Algerian air force lieutenant was the only one still in custody.
Heather Tasker, a spokeswoman for the U.S. attorney in Manhattan, refused to discuss Benatta's release, which was first reported by The Washington Post.
