Terror time is here again, La dee da, Tra la la, let's roll in the dough!

The West needs more terror attacks on the scale of 9/11 and 7/7 in order to save a failing foreign policy, according to Lt.-Col. Doug Delaney, chair of the war studies program at the Royal Military College in Kingston, Ontario.
"The key to bolstering Western resolve is another terrorist attack like 9/11 or the London transit bombings of two years ago. If nothing happens, it will be harder still to say this [the occupation of Iraq] is necessary" Delaney told the Toronto Star.
Prisonplanet.com asks, "By this logic, if terrorist attacks only boost the geopolitical agenda of Western governments then how is it in their interest to prevent them?"
Similarly, former Republican Senator Rick Santorum predicted this past weekend that "unfortunate events" would occur that will change Americans' views of the war.
And, "Last month, the new chairman of the Arkansas Republican Party Dennis Milligan said that there needed to be more attacks on American soil for President Bush to regain popular approval."
Thanks, guys, but can this wait?
After 9/11, Madrid 3/11 and London 7/7/05 (2005=7), I just breathed a big sigh of relief to get through 7/7/07 without another fake illuminati, base-11- numerology-dated terror attack on our civil rights.
Make it 8/8/08, OK?
Or 9/9/09 would be fine.

Chertoff has a 'Gut Feeling'
Gut feeling..yeah right
These killers are getting ready to strike...again
Chertoff bases it on history and al-Qaeda statements
In an unusually blunt and frank assessment of America's terror threat level, U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff said in Chicago this morning that his "gut feeling" is the nation faces a heightened chance of an attack this summer.

Qaeda Cell in the U.S. Or On Its Way, According to New Intel
http://www.rawstory.com/comments/34270.html
Senior U.S. intelligence officials tell ABC News new intelligence suggests a small al Qaeda cell is on its way to the United States, or may already be here.
The White House has convened an urgent multi-agency meeting for Thursday afternoon to deal with the new threat.
--what steps can be taken to minimize or counter the threat,
--and what steps are being taken to harden security for government buildings and personnel.
"It suggests they have information that the cell or cells coming this direction want to attack a government facility," Brad Garrett, a former FBI agent and ABC News consultant, said.
Law enforcement officials say the recent failed attacks in London have provided important new clues about possible tactics.

Military Analyst: West Needs More Terror To Save Doomed Foreign Policy
Only attacks on scale of 9/11, 7/7 can save bolster resolve according to war studies head

The West needs more terror attacks on the scale of 9/11 and 7/7 in order to save a failing foreign policy, according to Lt.-Col. Doug Delaney, chair of the war studies program at the Royal Military College in Kingston, Ontario.
This alarming admission can be found right at the end of a long and academic Toronto Star article about the history of conflict and why the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq are doomed.
http://www.propagandamatrix.com/articles/july2007/100707moreterror.htm
What a disturbing connection
The Lt Col is making a connection between 9/11 and Iraq, and there is none. "If nothing happens, it will be harder still to say this [the occupation of Iraq] is necessary..."
Please, Mr. Delaney, tell us why the invasion was necessary or legitimate in the first place?
The logic here is skewed. Iraq was invaded based on cooked intelligence from Douglas Feith in the Office of Special Plans. There was never a threat from Iraq. The entire invasion and occupation is patently illegal. Bush is war criminal, by every definition. What the hell does "Western resolve" have to do with anything? How about "Western wisdom" instead?
Watch the war mongers come out of the woodwork, hoping for more terror, hoping to extend the carnage by any means necessary.
Whooooeeee! Look out there.
It's increasingly looking like Thursday and/or Friday are going to be busy days down at the Bush Bunker.
Official: Report will say no goals met in Iraq
Draft, coming out this week, expected to accelerate debate on withdrawal
NBC News and news services
Updated: 8:26 p.m. ET July 9, 2007
WASHINGTON - A progress report on Iraq will conclude that the U.S.-backed government in Baghdad has not met any of its targets for political, economic and other reform, speeding up the Bush administration's reckoning on what to do next, a U.S. official said Monday.
One likely result of the report will be a vastly accelerated debate among President Bush's top aides on withdrawing troops and scaling back the U.S. presence in Iraq.
The "pivot point" for addressing the matter will no longer be Sept. 15, as initially envisioned, when a full report on Bush's so-called "surge" plan is due, but instead will come this week when the interim mid-July assessment is released, the official said..
"The facts are not in question," the official told The Associated Press, speaking on condition of anonymity because the draft is still under discussion. "The real question is how the White House proceeds with a post-surge strategy in light of the report."
The report, required by law, is expected to be delivered to Capitol Hill by Thursday or Friday, as the Senate takes up a $649 billion defense policy bill and votes on a Democratic amendment ordering troop withdrawals to begin in 120 days.

Al Qaeda Cell in the U.S. Or On Its Way, According to New Intel
July 10, 2007 6:30 PM
Brian Ross exhorts:
Senior U.S. intelligence officials tell ABC News new intelligence suggests a small al Qaeda cell is on its way to the United States, or may already be here.
The White House has convened an urgent multi-agency meeting for Thursday afternoon to deal with the new threat.
It's so urgent that officials have been told to meet at the Nineteenth Hole after their weekly round of golf on Wednesday to prepare their report for the following day.
Top intelligence and law enforcement officials have been told to assemble in the Situation Room [on Thursday] to report on:
--what steps can be taken to minimize or counter the threat,
--what steps are being taken to harden security for government buildings and personnel,
--and what should be blown up next to scare the holy beejeezus out of the 71% of Americans who aren't in lockstep with Emporer Bush.

White House: No specific terror threat against US
Wed Jul 11, 2007 10:23am ET
WASHINGTON, July 11 - The Bush administration said on Wednesday there was no specific, credible terrorism threat against the United States and denied that an emergency meeting had been called.
ABC News reported on Tuesday that the White House had called an urgent multi-agency session for Thursday to discuss a potential new al Qaeda threat on U.S. soil.
White House officials said it was a regularly scheduled meeting and not attended by the most senior national security officials.
"There continues to be no credible, specific intelligence to suggest that there is an imminent threat to the homeland," White House spokesman Tony Fratto said.
"There is no emergency meeting," he said.
U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff had told the Chicago Tribune's editorial board his "gut feeling" was that the United States faced an increased risk of attack this summer.
Fratto said he was not aware that Chertoff had made those feelings known to President George W. Bush.
