Musharraf: Pakistan isn't hunting Osama

(Well, apparently Morgan Spurlock isn't the only one not looking for Osama Bin Laden. The guy is probably dead anyhow. Bush and Musharraf seem to be of one mind on this one. -rep.)

Musharraf: Pakistan isn't hunting Osama

PARIS - Pervez Musharraf says he still gets the question a lot: When will Osama bin Laden and his top deputy be caught? The Pakistani president insists it's more important for his 100,000 troops on the Afghan border to root out the Taliban than search for al-Qaida leaders.

That bin Laden and Ayman al-Zawahri are still at large "doesn't mean much," the former general said Tuesday on the second day of a swing through Europe. He suggested they are far less a threat to his regime than Taliban-linked militants entrenched in Pakistan's west.

Bin Laden and al-Zawahri are believed to be hiding somewhere in the lawless tribal areas along Afghanistan's frontier with Pakistan.

"The 100,000 troops that we are using ... are not going around trying to locate Osama bin Laden and Zawahri, frankly," Musharraf told a conference at the French Institute for International Relations. "They are operating against terrorists, and in the process, if we get them, we will deal with them certainly." ...

He is their MVP.

Well it could be worse.

The CIA could be working for HIM! :)

But seriously, who is Musharraf working for then?

The ISI is probably going to arrest them for revealing State Secrets.

Neither is Bush

What they ARE hunting for is more tax dollars for their war machine.

Big Bin

No sense hunting a dead man.

Not hunting Osama? B-but I thought...

Haw, haw, haw, haw. Hey, really, no kidding; stop it. Please. You're killing me...

Interrogate Osama's son Omar

Osama's son Omar was interviewed yesterday by Matt Lauer on the Today Show. If Lauer had any cajones, he would have asked him about Bhutto's comment to David Frost that Osama is dead. A couple things we did hear from Lauer were that Osama is on the FBI's most wanted list (I understand this not to be true) and that Osama claimed responsibility for the '93 WTC bombing, the USS Cole and other attacks, but not for 9/11. Why then are the media talking-heads always saying that Osama did claim responsibility for 9/11? Mat, Matt, Matt. Sloppy, sloppy, sloppy interview!

If you're not outraged, you're not paying attention.

Omar also said he had not heard from Usama since 2000

Omar also said he had not heard from Usama since 2000.

I saw

the same interview this morning. What a joke. It looked like something straight out of Hollywood. My wife and I couldn't stop laughing. I don't think there are many people left that believe that fairy tale.

Unfortunately

Unfortunately, I know some that still do. But on the bright side, it's good to know that their numbers have declined.

'Considered armed and extremely dangerous'

'A couple things we did hear from Lauer were that Osama is on the FBI's most wanted list (I understand this not to be true)'

It is true that bin Laden is on the FBI's Most Wanted webpage. It's also true, however, that there's no mention of his being wanted for 9/11--they mention that he is wanted for involvement in the African embassy bombings of '98, then add that he is a 'suspect' in 'other terrorist attacks throughout the world.'

thanks rm
