Michael Scheuer: "The only chance we have as a country right now is" for bin Laden to "detonate a major weapon" in U.S.

Just another day for Glenn Beck;

"Glenn Beck nods and agrees with his guest Michael Scheuer that the only way to "save" the US (from illegal immigrants, of course) is for Osama bin Laden to succeed in detonating a weapon on American soil. Scheuer and Beck hit all the conservative buttons, from Mexicans to the mainstream media and the worst of all, Europeans. From the June 30th, 2009 Glenn Beck on Fox News."

"Last night Glenn Beck's guest was ex-CIA person Michael Scheuer, who stated that the only hope for the country was for Osama Bin Laden to "deploy and detonate a major weapon in the United States." Seriously."

What role do people

think Scheuer played in the plot & execution of 9.11?

he was the fake Osama in those 2001 tapes?

just kidding..... but, this kind of rhetoric makes me sick. Scheuer says Osama will wake up the sheeple to demand their leaders protect them. Now that's rich. Let's put that in perspective. (1) Leaders tell sheeple "Osama did it" after the next false-flag attack; (2) sheeple believe leaders, of course; (3) then sheeple "from the grassroots" get angry at leaders for not having protected them; (4) leaders then respond with violence in every direction; (5) sheeple feel protected.

Does that really work in 2009?

Plant

Scheuer is an operative, a false leader planted as part of the original 9/11 operation. His role was to speak out against Bush and build credibility and a following. If his services ever became needed (as they are presently) his sway will have some value for the criminals. It'll be interesting to see all of these plants come popping out of the woodwork once the investigation is underway. They are certainly planning on steering the investigation off course best they can. How would one do that efficiently? Set up plants ahead of time, that's how. Sort of like Chomsky's role to dismiss 9/11 as not important. People rely on Chomsky's credibility in shaping their opinion. A lot of people are lazy and pick out mouthpieces from the media to define their reality. So Scheuer is just that, a plant.

He has that certain stench

of complete government insider.

These guys are so twisted. Do they even realize how they sound? Thanks for driving people to support our music.

Daily

Daily has such a huge following it is a shame he doesn't push 9/11 truth. What a boon to the movement he would be. Come on Jon, grow some balls! Your country needs you.

Pearl Harbor Envy

Michael Scheuer's rant to the effect that only violence -- nay, extreme violence -- can move people politically is unfortunately an old song by now. For example, remember what Dennis Milligan, the chairman of the Arkansas Republican Party, said to a reporter of the "Arkansas Democrat-Gazette" in June of 2007:

"At the end of the day, I believe fully that the president is doing the right thing, and I think all we need is some attacks on American soil like we had on [Sept. 11, 2001], and the naysayers will come around very quickly to appreciate not only the commitment for President Bush, but the sacrifice that has been made by men and women to protect this country." [http://www.rawstory.com/news/2007/Arkansas_GOP_head_We_need_more_0603.html]

This sort of talk has become a rightwing political trope. In fact, before 9/11, it was already present in the writings of various political analysts and policy shapers in the form of what one might call "Pearl Harbor Envy", beginning with the 1997 book "The Grand Chessboard" by former National Security Advisor Zbigniew Brzezinski. Of course, we all know the now famous line in The Project for the New American Century's report "Rebuilding America's Defenses", published exactly a year before September 11, 2001, to the effect that the transformation in the military and society at large called for by the signatories of the report would be "likely to be a long one, absent some catastrophic and catalyzing event - like a new Pearl Harbor." (p. 51)

Although Scheuer attempts to temper his remark by describing his counterfactually invoking extreme violence (i.e. an attack on U.S soil. by bin Laden) as an "absurd situation," nonetheless his recourse to the trope is indicative that violence, even extreme violence, as an operator of political change is always on the mind of his constituency. Pearl Harbor Envy is the pathological symptom of those who in the end have nothing but contempt for the democracy they claim to uphold and cherish.

Scheuer was the head of the Osama BinLaden unit

pre-911.

He's know calling for another disaster to motivate our Gov. to change policy & radicly sway public opinion.

Isn't that excatly what the co-conspirators had in mind with coming up with 9.11?

Yes, he was, and he wrote

Yes, he was, and he wrote the book "Imperial Hubris" (Brassey's, 2004), initially published under the pseudonym of Anonymous.

Hard

for Bin Laden to detonate a major weapon if he's dead.

CIA

The nutcase on the right....

Has been one of "Bin laden's" biggest cheerleaders, referring to him as a "genius" and so forth.

No mention why this "genius" condemned the 911 attacks and probably died shortly thereafter.

Two peas in a pod here, a sickening little duet. Hopefully both men will have a seat at Nuremburg II.

the media skin for these two

the media skin for these two idiots should be a circus marquee, because what we have here are two clowns.

Just another

example of Problem, Reaction, Solution. Those two should be hung for treason.

Hello Truthseekers & Truthtellers,

"Of course the people don't want war. But after all, it's the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it's always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger."
