Every anniversary of 9/11 brings a flurry of attention to the truth about 9/11. This September, thirteen years after the crime of the millennium the flurry may turn into a blizzard. A new film follows a personal journey of discovery that began just over three years ago by film maker David Hooper. A businessman and filmmaker, Hooper never expected to be leading the 9/11 Truth Movement’s next wave of activity when he began to ask questions about what really happened on September 11, 2001. The result of his questioning resulted in a ground-breaking film of discovery, The Anatomy of a Great Deception.

As explained in the film, during his search for answers, each question led to another, until eventually it became clear that the official story of 9/11, that he and all his friends knew, could not possibly be true. In addition, the filmmaker experienced the same reaction from his family and friends that many truth-aware people experience -- feeling isolated from family members and friends. The sense of a barrier that grew larger with every new piece of information confirming that another major cornerstone about 9/11 was wrong. As David Hooper explains it, “as a way of reaching out to loved ones, I decided to make the film, in hopes that it would help them ease into the new worldview I now saw, and slow enough so that they could firmly grasp the facts that had shattered my naive worldview.” Some of the comments about the initial screening of the film to friends, colleagues and family were supportive and encouraging:

Billed as a "fast-paced, first-person docu-thriller," The Anatomy of a Great Deception provides a fresh perspective on what happened to the World Trade Center's Twin Towers and Building 7. Building 7 was a 47-story, steel-framed structure that was not hit by a plane, was destroyed almost seven hours after the second of the Twin Towers as destroyed. While normal office fires are the official cause, the building’s destruction is indistinguishable from a classic controlled demolition.

The documentary will be formally released on September 1, 2014, to coincide with media coverage of the 13th anniversary of 9/11. It is enthusiastically supported by Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth and by its founder, architect Richard Gage, AIA, though the production is independent of the non-profit organization.

The filmmakers, through Moving Flicks LLC (a company set up to handle distribution for the film), have pledged to donate 50 cents to AE911Truth from each DVD sold for the next five years. In addition, they have allowed space inside the film's DVD case for inserts designed to help encourage awareness of, membership in, and donations to AE911Truth. Another 50 cents per DVD will be donated to the Families of Freedom Scholarship Fund, which provides educational assistance to family members of 9/11 victims. Hooper's film distribution company, Moving Flicks LLC, will get the DVD into the public's hands via brick-and-mortar retail outlets and online sales – a marketing plan that he has great expertise in.

"Perhaps this film will get the 9/11 debate past the tipping point and into the mainstream," Hooper says. "We'll soon find out, because it's the 9/11 community that will, once again, have to rally to get the truth into the spotlight."

In his video supporting the film, Richard Gage, AIA, notes that it "has the best chance yet of pushing the 9/11 debate into the mainstream. It's presented in a way that people can really connect with." I believe this film can help us capitalize on the growing momentum in our movement. There's lots of renewed interest in 9/11 Truth — especially after our Canada tour, our New York 9/11 Museum outreach, our firefighter outreach, and the recent release of the 9/11 Consensus Panel's powerful report. There has also been an uptick in press inquiries and news reports about 9/11 Truth and, in particular, about Hooper's film itself.

As coverage of The Anatomy of a Great Deception increases, many people who have never heard of AE911Truth will find out about us. AE911Truth petition signers are featured prominently throughout the film, which includes numerous clips from their documentary, 9/11: Explosive Evidence — Experts Speak Out.

David Hooper told me that his awakening is the result of AE911Truth's work. Thus, he observes, everyone who “wakes up” by watching his film can credit our efforts! Though sometimes it may not feel like it, it's good to remember that what we've done, and continue to do, is really making a difference.
