About Me

Nathan Kleffman is a student of Austrian Economics, a firearms and precious metals enthusiast, a wannabee outdoorsman, and a proud, uncompromising, natural-rights based radical libertarian in the tradition of John Locke, Lysander Spooner, Albert Jay Nock, and Murray Rothbard.

Nathan has a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Iowa and he has worked as a door-to-door salesman and student manager for the Southwestern Company, a student researcher and flight test engineer for the Operator Performance Laboratory, and has worked in IT consulting for high-performing companies since 2007.

In the summer of 2006 Nathan had a cataclysmic political awakening that left him no choice but to, in the words of Ludwig von Mises, "thrust himself vigorously into the intellectual battle." In college he founded a chapter of the student group "Project for a New American Citizen", he was very active in the Chicago Ron Paul Meetup group during Dr. Paul's 2008 presidential campaign, and he ran as the Libertarian Party candidate for the Texas State House of Representatives for District 49 in 2010.

In August, 2011 the downgrade of US debt and the rise in gold and silver prices coincided with several people asking for advice on how to invest in gold and silver. As Nathan found himself giving the same explanations and writing the same advice for several people, he decided to create the blog to document his advice, recommendations, and evidence for why he believes the things he does.

Nathan is active in the Libertarian Party of Texas and is the treasurer for Texans for Accountable Government. He resides in Austin, Texas.
