Carol Brouillet: In the wake of the passage of the PATRIOT Act, I thought it was important to exercise our First Amendment Rights, before they were gone, forever. I was inspired by a woman from Colombia who did a "Listening Project" there to defuse violence. I set up tables, chairs, banners, have free food, free literature, and educational materials on the tables. But mainly I try to get people to respond to 3 questions which haven't changed in 4 years: "What do you think/feel about the events of September 11th and the U.S. government's response? How could we defuse terrorism? How could we create a safer/better world for our children and all children?" I write down their responses, and usually by the time they have answered those questions, I have some idea of how receptive they will be to the information, ideas that I would like to share with them. Sometimes people come to help me, as listeners, or just to engage in discussions with people attracted to the table. Sometimes, I launch rallies or marches from my spot in Lytton Plaza. I do recruit volunteers who have helped me immeasurably to table at anti-war rallies, organize other events. Just to create a weekly time and place for serious discussion on the political issues that we find most important, I believe is my own idea of "public service."

It is very noticeable how consciousness has risen over the past four years and I do feel my work is very much appreciated by the public, in general. At the last big anti-war rally, there were so many volunteers, that I was able to take a microphone and banner and actually participate in the whole march, while six or seven people minded the table. Now, the donations go into the Northern California 9-11 Truth Alliance account, the group meets twice a month and democratically votes on where to put our time, energy and resources; there is a 9-11 Truth community and I am glad to be a part of it.
Carol is a true activist, out there everyday doing all she can. From deception dollars to the San Francisco International Inquiry into 9-11, Carol is out there spreading the word.
Much respect for Carol Brouillet, and not just because I want to be listed on the next deception dollar ;)

I "woke up" about a year
I "woke up" about a year ago. Living in the SF Bay Area I joined the Northern California 9/11 Truth Alliance. At my first meeting I met Carol. She is the "glue" that holds our group together. I have never met a harder working, more dedicated 9/11 truth activist. She is an inspiration to all of us. This weekend we have some great activities going on in SF. Abdelmalik Ali is the Amir of the Masjid al Islam Mosque in Oakland.
Carol Brouillet is the producer of Deception Dollars,
www.deceptiondollar.com, an activists for local currencies, resisting
the FTAA, World Bank, WTO, and a diligent mother of three boys. She is
the producer of a new DVD, "Behind Every Terrorist There is a Bush",
available through www.communitycurrency.org.
Pat Gray ran for Congress with the Green Party on an anti-war platform
against Tom Lantos in the San Mateo 12th Congressional District.
Christian Pecaut recently graduated from Stanford University, where he
created classes that challenged the university's pro-war policies. He
maintains www.imaginenine.com, home of Paradigm from California.
Frank Runninghorse is a long time revolutionary activist, who worked
with Rosa Parks, is active with the Peace and Freedom Party, and is a
founding member of the Northern California 9/11 Truth Alliance.
Ken Jenkins is an activist, psychologist, visionary artist, and
videographer. He created 'Perspective on 9/11', which excerpts from the
best 9/11 DVDs. He was also an organizer for the 9-11 Internatinal
Inquiry in San Francisco.

On Sunday, after hearing presentations, watching some movies and
discussing the day before, we will hold an organized planning session.
First, we will work to gather a comprehensive set of strategies for the
911 Truth Movement, problems we have faced that we want to figure out,
and the best ideas that our participants have to succeed and overcome
these obstacles.
Second, these ideas will be typed, printed, and arranged on the wall in
The Big Picture. The process will involve determining which of the
strategies will best succeed, and coming up with solutions to the
problems our movement has faced, as well as deciding on our medium and
long term strategy for action.

I wish they had a meeting
I wish they had a meeting like that round these parts, but even bringing up the subject of a 9/11 coverup is considered taboo and fringe. Remember when thousands of young activists in San Francisco brought the city down to a stop in protest of the Iraq invasion? I wonder; given the bay area is such a left leaning area, how many people are even open to the idea of 9/11 truth? Again, it pains me how the issue is mostly ignored by activists and liberals. This woman seems like a true patriot.
