Hugo Chavez Says it is Plausible that U.S. Government Was Involved in 9/11 Attacks
Theory that U.S. orchestrated Sept. 11 attacks 'not absurd': Venezuela
CARACAS, Venezuela (AP) - President Hugo Chavez said Tuesday that it's at least plausible that the U.S. government was involved in the Sept. 11 attacks.
Chavez did not specifically accuse the U.S. government of having a hand in the Sept. 11 attacks, but rather suggested that theories of U.S. involvement bear examination.
The Venezuelan leader, an outspoken critic of U.S. President George W. Bush, was reacting to a television report investigating a theory that the Twin Towers were brought down with explosives after hijacked airplanes crashed into them in 2001.
"The hypothesis is not absurd . . . that those towers could have been dynamited," Chavez said in a speech to supporters. "A building never collapses like that, unless it's with an implosion."
"The hypothesis that is gaining strength . . . is that it was the same U.S. imperial power that planned and carried out this terrible terrorist attack or act against its own people and against citizens of all over the world," Chavez said.
"Why? To justify the aggressions that immediately were unleashed on Afghanistan, on Iraq."
Chavez has said the U.S. launched those wars to ensure its political and economic power.
The U.S. government says al-Qaida chief Osama bin Laden masterminded the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.
"A plane supposedly crashed into the Pentagon, but no one ever found a single remnant of that plane," Chavez said, citing a television program he had seen on Venezuela's state television.
Foreign Minister Nicolas Maduro raised the same theories in an earlier speech Tuesday, and called for an independent investigation.
"It's really worrisome to think that all of that could have been a great conspiracy against humanity," Maduro said. "An independent international investigation must be carried out one day to discover the truth about the events of Sept. 11."

i'm writing this particular e mail cause yesterday was 9-11 and i thought of you as i walked to work yesterday morning at 6:45 am. there are these tunnels on campus that just go under the main road and students spray paint them to advertise events, fraternities etc...well. yesterday things like "? 9-11" and "9-11 truth.org" and "9-11 lies" were sprayed all over the place. there were also fliers everywhere for the website. like, seriously everywhere, every tree, hand rail, and building pilar. i knew they would all be gone by 8am, when 'loyal americans' started walking by, but i was glad that people made the effort to put them out anyway. and i hope some people who had no idea checked out the site. so i just wanted to let you know there are people here trying to get the word out:)

Because I was fortunate enough to meet Willie Rodriguez in NYC, I asked him about Hugo Chavez wanting to re-investigate 9/11.
He says Hugo Chavez never said he would investigate 9/11. He said that he spoke to a subordinate of Hugo's.

There is a movement afoot to discredit Chavez & friends...
Venezuala, Iran , Syria , North Korea and more than 100 other nations are pushing to broaden the world‘s definition of "terrorism" to include the U.S. occupation of Iraq and the Israeli invasion of Lebanon.
Hugo Chavez is slated to speak at this gathering in Cuba, along with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and others. The Administration is extremely worried about this gathering as it is basically pitting the U.S. & Israel against the World.
I trust this is NOT what Poppy Bush had in mind when he first outlined his vision of a New World Order back on September 11, 1990.
This announcement about Hugo Chavez is the set-up. The next move will be to attempt to discredit him and the other world leaders as a bunch of conspiracy-minded terrorist sympathizers.

At last check the Hugo Chavez story was a headline link at the Drudge Report. That's a major tipoff that the neocons plan to go after him with a vengeance. They are going to make an example of Mr. Chavez. Or at least they are going to try...
Actually I think this is going to be very interesting to watch.
I applaud Chavez, but
this will just be characterized as political (or worse) by the U.S. media. BushCo is already just about calling Chavez a terrorist, so if the neocon spin sticks (less likely now than before at least), then anyone in the U.S. who questions 9/11 will be lumped into the same "terrorist" category as Chavez. I'm not saying we shouldn't be glad Chavez is on our side, I'm just pointing out how the neocon strategy of typecasting and framing people will likely occur if Chavez takes on 9/11 in any serious way. We need to be aware of this BEFOREHAND -- and strategize a few steps ahead in how we'll respond.
Does anyone here have a link to a story last week about some high level official in the U.S. suggesting that 9/11 truthers are terrorists? I remember seeing something, but can't locate it now. This is a BIG concern of mine -- that there will be a serious backlash against 9/11 truthers if the tide doesn't turn QUICKLY.

I just thought I would share with everyone what I experienced at church last Sunday the 10th. The pastor showed a strange video montague combining a number of video clips which went something like this:
1st clip "Saving Private Ryan" Normandy beach scene;
2nd clip "CNN" clip with title "Showdown in Iraq";
3rd clip WTC Towers collapsing;
4th clip Normandy scene again;
5th clip back to CNN "Showdown in Iraq";
6th clip Tower collapse; etc....
This was quite odd to say the least. My cousin (who is also a truther) and I just sat there and shook our heads as this was playing. I so felt like yelling out, "Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11!", but I chickened out. Sorry guys. I thought some might be interested in what is being fed to us church goers.
Maybe next time you should yell this out!

I'm stunned by the comments on this thread.
Here we have a major head-of-state who has done more for his people than any other "leader" on the planet -- actually making an effort to devolve power to his citizens -- and all anyone can say is that "we" might be associated with "radical" or "anti-bush" sentiment. Since the US has tried to oust him in a coup, Chavez naturally speaks to others who are aso on the US shitlist. That doen'st mean he's a "dictator", any more than the PM of Canada when he talks with the president of China. Chavez has done more for democracy than anyone in the hemisphere. He has overwhelming popular support. He was born in a hovel and is actually challening the "right' of rich people to fuck over everyone else.
Again, I'm stunned.
The 911 truth movement has shown an amazing incapacity to follow the proper leads. Instead of focussing on war games and WTC7 and thermate and Jack Abramoff and Dancing Israelis we focus on "no planes' and what hit the Pentagon and cell phones. instead of embracing Stephen Jones we look to quacks like Nico. Instead of welcoming the most astute critics of the official story like Ralph Schoenman we omit them from our discourse.
The comments of Chavez reprresent perhaps the best opportunity yet to challenge the left gatekeepers, yet there is nothing on this thread about an organized email campaign.
