The 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon were brainstormed, arranged and executed by dark, shadow agents of the American government seeking to throw us into shock, horror and then rage. Their ultimate goal was US military action in the Middle East.
Theories like the above are all over. Not only do books, magazines and websites spout them, but home brewed films like Loose Change, seek to "uncover truth" about that Tuesday morning in September of 2001. Hollywood celebrities like Charlie Sheen and Rosie O'Donnell have even embraced 9-11 conspiracy theories.
I want to hear two sides to a story - don't we all? With something as complicated as this, there may indeed be more sides which won't be fully told for years. Even the 9-11 Commission upon publication of their report noted that the account they'd published wasn't a definitive version of the events, or what lead up to it in the first place.
Recently, The History Channel broadcast: The 911 Conspiracies: Fact or Fiction. It covered most things conspiracy promoters point to when wagging a finger of shame at "shadow agent" villains of 911.
In no particular order, some conspiracy charges:
The World Trade Center couldn't have been destroyed by two airliners. There couldn't have been that much damage from jet crashes.
The "entry hole" in the Pentagon couldn't have been made by a jet, it had to have been some "missile."
Cell calls from United Flight 93 weren't real, but high tech fakes courtesy of "voice morphing" software which mimics voices by audio sampling.
Expert after expert refuted these charges. The man who invented voice morphing software even denounced the notion that the last frantic phone calls to loved ones was gimmicked with his software. One point of searing logic is "shadow agents" would had to have extensively sampled each person's voice to ensure they'd get it right. The Herculean complexity of that one brilliant logic point destroys this theory. Now supposedly the next installment of Loose Change - I guess they make a mint by churning out sequels - will either not mention cell calls or "qualify" the issue.
As for "controlled demolition", the notion jets couldn't have brought down skyscrapers in that fashion, nor do damage the plane did on the Pentagon, experts disagreed. We must remember nothing on this scale ever happened before. Did airliners ever fly into a skyscraper before 9/11? Again, this basic bit of logic flies in the face of "guesstimates" about what should/could have happened.
I'm neither scientist nor demolitions expert. I can't tell merely by looking at video the physics behind the attack. Can makers of Loose Change do something most of us can't? When dozens of respected experts offer opinions, I'd trust them more. Call me wacky.
On September 11, 2001 America was attacked. If you wish to believe it was arranged and executed by shadow agents of the U.S. whose brilliant competence is so overwhelming there's no physical evidence of a conspiracy, so be it. Let's emphasize physical evidence, because anyone can look at video or listen to cell phone calls and glean theories: this is conjecture and opinion, not evidence. Furthermore, you must also believe not one person with inside conspiracy knowledge, has sought either because of soul searching or inevitable financial gain of anonymous whistle blowing to a media organization for a staggering fortune, to lay open publicly what would be the most earth shaking conspiracy ever.
Or you can, as the majority of the world has, believe a preponderance of evidence that a group of terrorists conceived, trained for and executed a plot to exploit the then rather open nature of airlines turning America's airplanes against itself. After six years, it may be a bitter pill to swallow that this band of hate mongers succeeded in doing the unthinkable, but it's the best supported theory. Also remember it was the World Trade Center - people from many other countries lost lives. It was in every important way an international tragedy. If nations who lost people - suspected "shadow conspiracy" - wouldn't they want answers?
Maybe shadow agents have gotten to them already. This supremely powerful shadow force silenced every country involved in 9-11 - plus victim's families. Those modern ninja bad boys really can do everything.

I know what a Controlled Demolition looks like and building 7 fits that description. No plane hit it. Asymmetrical Fire damage does not cause a complete symmetrical collapse. Asking us to believe building 7 wasn't demolished is asking us to believe in fairy tales. No one will ever convince me otherwise.

All absent by coincidence? This article has only one purpose, put those people back to sleep who happened to catch a whisper of 9/11 truth and got curious.

I have to admit that I do this with some trepidation. I can already feel the assault on my inbox. But after a good long think about potential time and energy being lost by our entire community to senseless and ultimately inconsequential musings, I have to come out and say it: the alternative theories about 9-11 are wrong. Worse, the endless theorizing and speculation about trajectories, explosives, military tests, fake airplane parts and remote control navigation actually distracts some of our best potential activists from addressing the more substantive matters at hand.

The person who wrote this should be ashamed - no research, no balance - just a lot of crap.
Oh well, when the truth is exposed and we eventually have the real 911 investigation and the trials - it's people like this who must look at themselves in the mirror and question their own lack of critical thought.

This media fascination with "Loose Change" ignores large volumes of evidence.
What should "upset you" concerns massive piles of documentation that the US rulers at the minimum deliberately let it happen, and that 200+ Israeli state agents helped make it happen.
These things never get a looking at by puclications like yours, although the data is out there. Absolute proof of a cover up is easily found, if one cares enough to look.
Have the courage to debate me openly about 9/11, without the shield of editorial control.

Oh, please, let's see some more of that 'cool reasoning'!
A series of links to information may be appropriate for someone who sincerely just hasn't gotten it yet, but most likely this author is just another 'debunker' who is simply arguing in bad faith. In that case, direct questions on the evidence might be better--opportunities for him to put all that 'logic, cool reasoning, and critical thinking' on display.
All the examples of skyscrapers with much worse fires than any of the WTC buldings that remained standing. The utter absence of resistance from the lower floors, indicated by the speed at which the buildings came down. The symmetry with which they came down--three times in one day at the same location. Where's the evidence that building codes and insurance rates around the world have since been adjusted, to take these newly enhanced destructive powers of fire into account?
And on and on and on...
Sometimes it's good just to turn their questions on their head and ask, 'Alright then, what's solid/compelling about the official story?' Then watch them start stammering like Ralph Kramden in 'The Honeymooners'.

This isn't the first time that a sci-fi writer has been employed by the 'debunkers' (didn't the BBC or someone else do the same thing?). The better to surround the whole topic in an atmosphere of fantasy. It's like they're thinking, 'We're not going to dignify critics of the official story with an actual serious commentator; we're going to give them someone who writes science fiction.' More contempt from contemptible people.
