of the printing and shipping of military absentee ballots.
So each day that passes helps them to bury it- maybe that's their exit strategy. The judge will say that he is willing to grant it, but the time is too late for this.
Excellent points made about this master myth maker. He played a pivotal role in covering up the truth about 911 and in creating the myths that justified the illegal imperialist invasions and occupations in the ME and the draconian measures taken against the citizens of the US. It is no coincidence that he predicted those measures in a hypothetical event scenario years before 911.
I am actually against capital punishment and was disturbed by the hanging of Saddam Hussein. I was surprised to learn that Washington and New Hampshire still reserve the right of hanging as their form of capital punishment.
Let me go on record by saying that I don't think anyone, no matter how huge and heinous their crime, should be put to death.
yes that's exactly how I have always referred to him. I think Condi recommended him for the job based upon his expertise in these matters. Great job Jon Gold! Did I read somewhere that he did a dissertation paper on historical myths etc? I am sure that ROBinDALLAS was only speaking figuratively in this matter. I too am against capital punishment.
October 15, 1998: Future 9/11 Commission Executive Director Zelikow Says ‘Public Assumptions’ Shape Views of History
In his opening remarks at a conference on contemporary political history organized by the Miller Center of Public Affairs at the University of Virginia, future 9/11 Commission Executive Director Philip Zelikow emphasizes that the public understanding of history is shaped by what are sometimes referred to as “public myths.” “[U]nderstanding contemporary political history is extremely important and constantly alive in public discourse. ‘Contemporary’ is defined functionally by those critical people and events that go into forming the public’s presumptions about its immediate past. This idea of ‘public presumption’ is akin to William McNeill’s notion of ‘public myth’ but without the negative implication sometimes invoked by the word ‘myth.’ Such presumptions are beliefs (1) thought to be true (although not necessarily known to be true with certainty), and (2) shared in common within the relevant political community. The sources for such presumptions are both personal (from direct experience) and vicarious (from books, movies, and myths).” Zelikow says that public assumptions often grow out of “searing events”: “particularly ‘searing’ or ‘molding’ events take on ‘transcendent’ importance and, therefore, retain their power even as the experiencing generation passes from the scene.” [Zelikow, 1999 pdf file] In a previous publication, Zelikow had written about how a “catastrophic terrorism” event could constitute a momentous, history-shaping milestone: “An act of catastrophic terrorism that killed thousands or tens of thousands of people… would be a watershed event in America’s history.… Like Pearl Harbor, such an event would divide our past and future into a ‘before’ and ‘after’” (see November 1997-August 1998).

“Tortured Logic – How Has the Media Reported on Terrorism and Torture?”
Throughout the media’s history, there have been debates over how to report on international news events. During the Vietnam War, the media argued over the term “collateral damage.” Since 9/11, reporting on terrorism or torture allegedly committed by governments has created new risks and, some argue, new responsibilities. What are the legal and ethical implications of this debate? When is it permissible for the media to withhold information on “national security” grounds? Does the media fail the public if it seeks sanctuary in euphemisms, and what standards should it apply?
Moderator: Smriti Vidyarthi, Presenter, NTV, Kenya
Panelists:
Gudrun Harrer, Senior Editor, Der Standard, Vienna
Joanne Mariner, Director, Terrorism and Counterterrorism Program, Human Rights Watch, New York
Manfred Nowak, United Nations Special Rapporteur on Torture; Professor of Constitutional Law and Human Rights, University of Vienna
Philip Zelikow, former Executive Director, National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States; White Burkett Miller Professor of History, University of Virginia
I am impressed. Very. It comes across as professional. You should create your own documentary Jon, and do the voice-over yourself. You are good at convincing people. I show your Youtube clip with Kean ("set up to fail") to friends to illustrate there is more to 9/11 than the much hyped documentaries out there. Most of them react in dismay after seeing it. You can't deny a cover-up if you have the guy who the commission was named after saying it. In retrospect, it should have been called the "Zelikow" commission shouldn't it.
Just one thing: there should be better ways to show pictures than to make a snapshot of Youtube, which creates a sort of 'mirror palace" effect.
As for Zelikow...it seems he could be an accessory before the fact as well as the prime architect of the cover-up.
I see that you are getting compliments and suggestions. Similar to your response to my comment, you don't acknowledge that these people are paying you a compliment. Show some gratitude.
I couldn't help but notice that there were several compliments but no thanks on this post. I must admit, I am sensitive to that. I assume it was just an oversight, but I was compelled to point it out.
This is very informative and well narrated. The photo of Zelikow at 1 minute is a little creepy, like a sinister character in a movie or something......................... ZEELIKOOOW!
A very clear and concise summary of one of the leading gangster-psychopaths that was (still is?) in control of our pretend-democracy for their own nefarious purposes. People like Zelikow who can calmly and coldy design and/or cover-up mass murder and effortlessly lie to our faces creep me out. These people who completely lack a conscience, should never be allowed to hold positions of power. They are fit only to be held in a lunatic asylum and be kept safely away from the rest of us.
Zelikow's own history is devastating to his credibility, and to the idea that he could've been- or was- an impartial and honest investigator of the 9/11 events. Given that he was steering the Commission from the beginning according to a secret outline and tried to write it to link Iraq to 9/11, and wound up with a job working with Condi Rice afterward, that's reason alone to reject the report. Considering his statements about public myths and a terrorist event that could divide history into a before and after- exactly as 9/11 did- he may well have known what was coming. Zelikow needs to be investigated for treason and cover up, at a minimum.
The internet is making the world transparent, and these 'public myths' based on lies are exposed in this new environment- anyone that googles 'philip zelikow' comes across additional inconvenient facts in the first couple of pages, even more when they google his name and '9/11'.

Still no decision by Justice Lehner on NYC CAN?
Perhaps no news is good news
Perhaps no news is good news in this case? (crossing my fingers)
Time is running short because
of the printing and shipping of military absentee ballots.
So each day that passes helps them to bury it- maybe that's their exit strategy. The judge will say that he is willing to grant it, but the time is too late for this.
I don't think...
A decision was made.
Do these people deserve to know how and why their loved ones were murdered? Do we deserve to know how and why 9/11 happened?
Zelikow should be one of the first to hang for his role.

Thank you Jon for your tireless dedication.
As Kevin Barrett...
Has taught us, we shouldn't go around saying this person or that person should be hung (I have done it in the past as well).
Do these people deserve to know how and why their loved ones were murdered? Do we deserve to know how and why 9/11 happened?
I apologize. It was a bit of hyperbole.

somebody heckles this a-hole. He shouldn't get a minute's rest anywhere in the world.
I agree, SnowCrash. He should be made uncomfortable.
I think he should be accosted at every opportunity.

Gypsy T. and Carol B. did a great job blowing the whistle on this criminal many years ago (a must see if someone has the link still)!
This is one excellent presentation

His non-reaction to my confrontation was..
frustrating yet somewhat revealing at the same time...
Thanks for the memory.
His non-response says plenty. His coverup commission is indefensible.
RWF2, you were most excellent.
Thanks..
I hope I can get him again...!!
