It has often been observed that the war on terror is unwinnable. After all, how could a war on an abstract noun ever have its "Mission Accomplished" moment? It is, according to this wisdom, meant to drag on forever. Just because a war can't be won, however, doesn't mean it can't be lost. The truth is that the war on terror is over. And America has lost.

Hope this goes viral

.... just like "9/11 A Conspiracy Theory." It's a similar format under 5 minutes with sources and transcript and brilliantly narrated by James Corbett.

The best news reports and analysis in the entire business have accounts here at 911blogger -- The Corbett Report and Washington's Blog. Plus Abby Martin's Breaking the Set. Hope this gets a million + views!

Brilliant.

Agreed 100%. This is absolutely brilliant, incisive stuff. Every American should see this, as should every US Senator, Congressperson, State representatives and senators, law enforcement, intelligence and military personnel, journalists, teachers... you name 'em... even if it's just to demonstrate that we're not all under the spell of the central propaganda machine and their lackeys in the corporate mainstream "weasel" media. Capture this, make DVD copies send it to your Senator or Congressman. There are clearly elements within the FBI (most likely at the topmost levels) who are using terrorism itself to "justify" the continuation of the war against it.

Sadly, so many of the public are under a misguided and misplaced sense of "patriotism", typified by those brain-dead, manipulated kids in the video, celebrating the overturning of freedom and all the great things that America stands for, by shouting in unison USA! USA! USA!. They might as well have been chanting "I hate America" and wearing brown colored shirts.

Some reframing of the question

But doen't the 'loss' of a 'war on terror' really mean the success of a 'war OF terror' (which is of course what the GWOT has really been all along)? A population successfully terrorized into full-blown Orwellian 'freedom is slavery' madness? When I saw the headline, I guess I was hoping the message was going to be about this 'war OF terror' having lost, since it's always masquerading as a 'war on terror.' But that's the outcome that we're still fighting for.

Successor to the "War on Drugs"

Remember the drug hysteria of the 80s and 90s?

That was the "crisis" then in vogue which the government used to keep paranoia high and encroach further into our civil and constitutional protections.

It was the "War on Drugs" that saw the first assault on the Posse Comitatus act--an "exception" was made for drug enforcement. Thus, all the BATF had to do was say that they suspected the Branch Davidians had a meth lab and PRESTO! the tanks rolled out.

"Civil forfeiture" was drastically enlarged. Remember the yacht seized back in '87 because of a few grams of cannabis? The Customs Service was once asked if they could legally seize the Queen Mary if a single passenger's pocket contained a joint. Their answer was, "Yes." Examples could be multiplied.

The War on Drugs is still ongoing of course, but not with the "zeitgeist" it once had. The "War on Terror" has basically supplanted it, to even greater effect in trampling our liberties and trashing the whole Magna Carta ethos.

James Corbett vs Rachel Maddow

Great short video from James.

We need this to counter Rachel Maddow's recent conflation and smear of 'conspiracy theories; posited right after her review of three favourite books:

Maddow's Fave Books:

- The official 911 Commission Report
- The official 911 Commission Report - the illustrated comic book version
- Popular Mechanics 'debunk' of Newton's Laws of Physics
