Coleen Rowley: ABC News Reporter Does a Hatchet Job

In a sad commentary on the currently disintegrating state of "main stream media", I found myself ambushed on Saturday, March 6th, just ten minutes after I arrived at a conference outside Philadelphia on "9-11, the Wars and Our Broken Constitution".
When young, smiling female producer Katie Hinman identified herself as being with ABC and asked for an interview, I had only just arrived at the conference. So although I was a little surprised that the Nightline TV crew was there, I immediately consented to an interview before anyone had a chance to warn me that the TV show was trying to concoct a connection between the conference and the mentally ill young man who had been killed a few days before while shooting at Pentagon guards.
From the very first question Mr. Bury launched, it was clear, however, that he was not interested in the truth, and that I would not fare any better than someone who consents to go on Bill O'Reilly's or Glenn Beck's show.
Journalistic ethics
In the interest of journalistic ethics, let me list a few of the departures from how a decent, ethical, objective journalist would have covered the story of this conference:
1) Chris Bury and his news crew left right after interviewing me. They apparently only spent a couple hours at the conference that morning (before I arrived) and did not interview any of the sick 9-11 rescue workers or 9-11 victim family members. It turns out that while castigating the victims' quest for more facts about 9-11, they had refused to interview these folks!
2) Bury did not let me answer any of his questions, but repeatedly cut me off after I got only a couple words out. He asked totally leading questions using loaded terms with pejorative connotations like "conspiracy" in connection with the search for facts and evidence. Within a couple minutes, it was clear that Nightline's Chris Bury was only interested in furthering his pre-determined agenda and conducting a hit type interrogation just as Bill O'Reilly, Rush Limbaugh and other radio-TV talk shows are fond of doing.
3) Of course Chris Bury and his Nightline crew did not stay to hear my presentation on the terrible consequences of the lack of 9-11 truth -- the series of post 9-11 mistakes -- nor did they stay to hear any of the other speakers. It's been said that "truth is the first casualty of war" and there were many other visual displays and speakers, like myself, who made that point about why the truth matters. In fact when I tried to counter Bury's disparaging line of questioning, by asking why and how it came to be when Bush-Cheney launched their preemptive invasion of Iraq, that 70% of Americans mistakenly believed that Saddam was behind 9-11, Bury did not answer. Nightline edited out my questions of course about this massive deception as well as the rest of my interview in what they chose to air.
4) The Nightline crew appeared so intent on vilification but it missed my presentation on "Truth--the Dribs and Drabs" as well as other speakers' presentations on questions about inconsistencies in the NORAD time lime, the level of pre 9-11 intelligence that existed, and the actual motivations of the 9-11 hijackers (that involve the illegal Israeli settlements and Israel's handling of Palestinians instead of Bush's glib answer "they hate our freedoms").
5) If Chris Bury and his ABC producer had attended the full two days of this conference, they would have failed to find one single call for violence in any of the presentations. They would have found just the opposite. Of course that would have conflicted with Nightline's sensationalist angle, stretching to connect the young troubled Pentagon shooter to calls for further investigation of 9-11. Their outrageous proposition was that anyone who asks questions about the momentously tragic event is dangerous.
What Would Gandhi Do?
For many years, I've had this little magnet on my refrigerator with a picture of Mahatma Gandhi which says "Truth is the highest God." What that means to me is that although it's impossible to fully know the truth (as it is to know "God"), truth is a very worthy pursuit!
So maybe it wouldn't do much good but we ought to send some of these refrigerator magnets to Bill O'Reilly, Rush Limbaugh, and all those sensationalist Gonzo journalists like Chris Bury to remind them not to forsake their own integrity and their 4th estate responsibilities. The truth really does matter.

Coleen Rowley is right ...
Chris Bury and ABC News clearly have an agenda, to conflate inquiry into 9/11 with ostensibly preposterous and unbelievable claims of government conspiracy to murder innocent Americans.
ABC News Nightline reporter Chris Bury is shown here fixated on presenting inquiry of 9/11 as all about "did the government murder innocent Americans" ... Chris Bury and ABC News are trying to shape the debate... they need to broaden their perspective to include facts and evidence. Chris Bury and ABC News need to be more honest, impartial and objective.
But the government DID murder, there's no doubt about it.
However, to use incredulity about that, as a possibility, to rule out anything but the official story public myth, is a low down tactic, and he was just disgraceful that man, whoring himself to his network bosses while very possibly serving to guard a lie about what happened on 9/11 - what a disservice to the victims and the victims family members, and then to leave without seeing a single presentation or bothering to interview those folks - it's an OUTRAGE!
We should be HAMMERING that Bury and his people with protestations, big time.

but it depends what we mean by government ...
we need to be careful how we use words ... the semantics of 9/11 are important ... we don't need to say it was "the government" that did it... that particular assertion suggests that 9/11 was planned by government agencies with the imprimatur of government officials. This is clearly implausible ... the "government" is just as much an innocent victim of 9/11 as the good folk of NYC and the rest of the world ... 9/11 was a covert operation, the sponsors remain unknown, the most we can say is that senior officials were / are involved in facilitating and covering up the operation ... the broad and simplistic generalization implied by the term "government" is neither helpful nor accurate in describing the actual sponsors of 9/11 and therefore should be avoided or rejected when discussing the who, why and wherefore of 9/11, in my opinion ...

This may be true, but it certainly is also the case that the "government" lied and lies to this day about 9/11.
"The government" didn't lie
Elements within the Government who are able to control what the "official line " is have lied. Most of the NIST report is not a lie. The lies are from the people who forced the conclusions and held the press conferences. There are hundreds of thousands of people who work for the federal government. They are not all evil sociopaths bent on ruling the world at any cost. When we blame "the government" we not only alienate all the good people who work in government, we also condemn such foundational constructs as The Constitution of the United States of America. I am not here to oppose "the government". I am involved in 9/11 Truth because I love the American form of government and want to protect it from criminals who are trying to hijack it.
Clearly, the postman was not involved
I always say that "certain very small elements within the government had to have been involved for it to have gone down the way it did" while quickly adding that it is also very clear that several non-U.S. government entities and individuals were also clearly involved.
The 9/11 operation was planned for decades, involved many people (witting and unwitting) and was very carefully compartmentalized until the very end.

For the 9/11 operation to have occurred the way it did, it is quite clear that elements within several governments were involved as well numerous individuals from many countries including, but not limited to, the U.S., Israel, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.
The criminals we seek to expose are not our government, but sociopaths that have corrupted certain elements throughout many governments and made use of multi-national corporate linkages to gain unwarranted and unchecked power to further their own ends at the expense of humanity.
But their days are numbered as they cannot stand the light of truth and that light is growing stronger every day.
Keep up the great work, brothers and sisters, love and patiently educate our fellow brothers and sisters on every occasion, for our very survival as a species depends upon it.
We are the leaders we have been waiting for.
The truth shall set us free. Love is the only way forward.

Actually I have seen more on MSM about 9/11 in the past few weeks since I've seen since 9/11. Which no matter how they present it, is good for the movement. All of these pieces, no matter how bad they try to discredit us, is advertising. And the more they try to demonize the movement the bigger it will grow.
I can't help but feel that our numbers have grown to such a level that it can no longer be ignored, so the next step is to have a massive campaign to fragment and demonize. There's going to be a tipping point soon, which makes me rather nervous, for I can't imagine that the powers-that-be allowing this to happen without going completely bonkers.
But stop this they cannot do. It's going to be one hell of an interesting summer.
We have no media, only propagandists in the USA.
Clearly the entire MSM has sold out to the real perpetrators of 911.
This isn't spin. It is complicity and coverup.
When the real investigations and prosecutions start, Bury will be exposed.
