VOTE if You care

I am in a situation where I don't want to vote demorat OR resuculian. I do not want to vote for any of the MANY 3rd Party candiates either. I will not vote for a member of a 3rd party because I believe that doing so equates into not casting a vote at all. When people do not vote they are forfeiting their only right in choosing the possible tenor of things to come. When people vote for a 3rd party candiate they are playing into the hands of each of the parties being that a vote of signifance is not cast against them. I believe that MANY 3rd party candiates represent honest, worthy, and high values. Were it possible for a candidate of my party of choice, the Constitutional Party, I would be out there campaigning and attempting to influence others to vote Constitutional. But there is NO chance of winning even should a Constitutional be on the ballot presented to me. I am not being cynical but I am looking at the whole picture. I really want to see Bush deprived of the power he holds. This being that the rusuclians control both the House and Senate and do his bidding. Maybe, and I employ maybe, were House and Senate majority changed Bush would lose some of the control he currently has. This draws me to the conclusion that NOT VOTING IS BAD. VOTING 3rd PARTY IS BAD. VOTING RESUCLIAN IS BAD. And lastly, horribly, and disgustedly VOTING DEMORAT is LESS BAD. My choice, as I alluded to before, was reduced to the traditional 2 party system. Poor choices either way. Our hands are tied, chained into the system and ours choices are limited. Please Vote in November no matter how unappealing it may seem. The choice is yours. All 3rd parties start with common goals. Mine is IMPEACH BUSH which is as likely as winning the POWERBALL lottery. At least vote to sway the power, even if minutly from Bush and hope for better things to happen. I suppose this logic of mine can also apply to local and state positions up for grabs. I am neither Right or Left, Liberal or Conservative because I see value in all of them. I am a Constitutionalist who wants to see ALL of our Rights protected and enforced whether the government likes it or not. Currently as Bush said, "The Constitution is ONLY a piece of PAPER. Someday a strong 3rd party will emerge in this country but probably not in my lifetime. Our populace will become so disenfranchised that this emergance is enevitable. Vote..Vote..Vote.........Tell your friends TCAGB

Please tell me why voting

Please tell me why voting for a third party is counterproductive.

Isn't it true that a high-vote count for third party may help increase their vote next time?

We all know that the US voting system is geared towards HOPELESSNESS.

How about leaving an invalid vote, as a protest?

Is that possible with voting machines? i.e. is there a protest-vote button?

Elections? Schmelections.

Jane: According to the NYT, things appear pretty good for the Dems.

Billmon: Some Republican strategists are increasingly upset with what they consider the overconfidence of President Bush and his senior advisers about the midterm elections November 7 — a concern aggravated by the president's news conference this week. "They aren't even planning for if they lose," says a GOP insider who informally counsels the West Wing.

Digby: The aircraft carrier Eisenhower, accompanied by the guided-missile cruiser USS Anzio, guided-missile destroyer USS Ramage, guided-missile destroyer USS Mason and the fast-attack submarine USS Newport News, is, as I write, making its way to the Straits of Hormuz off Iran. The ships will be in place to strike Iran by the end of the month. It may be a bluff. It may be a feint. It may be a simple show of American power. But I doubt it.

Kinda makes you wonder, doesn't it?
