George Galloway's speech to Parliament, January 2007

A powerful speech highlighting the appalling situation in Iraq, and the pathetic handling of it by the British government: Ill-equipped troops, brutal treatment of civilians, and support for death squads: Welcome to democracy, Bush & Blair style!

I have liked Galloway

ever since seeing his address to our congress......

And for whatever faults he may have, at least he has been an ardent supporter of what seems to me to be the truth about the middle east.

And it is connected to 911. I heard on Randi Rhodes (sp?) yesterday afternoon, a caller slipped in a comment about Controlled Demolition after commenting on the topic which was Iraq and the looming attack on Iran. Randi said.... I don't see how that (CD) is connected..... Either Randi was playing dumb or she is dumb. Nothing is more connected than the PNAC plans for the middle east and the false flag that has given them near carte blanch to carry them out.

Isn't it odd (read: refreshing) to hear a talented orator, a man who can recite complex sentences without glancing at notes, a man who can incite passion without forgetting his intelligence? This speech makes the monosyllabic slogans of the average congressperson look like the polished bureaucratic grunts they really are.

Whatever his other actions, this speech is on the money and well delivered.

I'm not sold...

I remember him having a two hour 9/11 special on his talksport radio show (June 2006).

His agenda was already set, so many Brits called in supporting 9/11 Truth and a new investigation but he dismissed them without consideration, often insulting them as kooks and alike.

He believes other conspiracies, but funnily not 9/11.

Don't get me wrong, some of his displays have been impressive but I remember him squirming like a rat when he got caught lieing.

If he changed his brickwall on 9/11 I'd change my opinion of him...

I just wanted to add my "dissenting" view.

Good luck

Yea he is a funny character,

Yea he is a funny character, I used to think he was a prick before he went to Washington. After that I kind of thought my judgment must have been wrong. He actually came by through my town once on a open top double decker bus, with Aretha Franklin's "R E S P E CT" song blasting out, and at the time I didn’t like him so I shouted "WANKER" at the bus and he heard it to.

I still don't know what to make of him, some of the things he says are fantastic, but simultaneously there's a little bit of distrust there still, it's difficult to explain. I love his speech here though, very well put.

Galloway supporters

in my experience tend to be fake left anti-truth shills who love Counterpunch and Cockburn... jes sayin'...

Your entry made me remember....

and, indeed, I agree with you. That is an aspect of Galloway that threatens to denigrate the acute observations he makes about the middle east.

edited for spelling

Sorry, but I think Galloway is a shill
