David has a BS from Harvey Mudd College, Claremont, CA (IPS major–independent program of studies with emphasis in physics and engineering); MA in education from Claremont Graduate University; MS in mathematics from Cal Poly, Pomona and has taught Physics/Mathematics/Astronomy at K-12 and Jr. college levels. He is also and author and served formerly on the editorial board of The Physics Teacher, an AAPT journal. David is also an active designer and inventor of educational materials emphasizing quantitative visualization.
David’s recent article, WTC7: NIST Admits Freefall focuses on some of the significant errors and descepancies in the final NIST report on the collapse of tower 7 and includes exerpts from a tehnical briefing held by NIST on August 26, 2008. During this briefing, questions were put to the panel by David Chandler as well as Dr. Steven Jones.

In terms of physical evidence, this video by David Chandler forcing the hand of NIST to make free-fall official dogma is of profound significance.
David correctly points out that Dr. Shyam Sunder makes his point about the significance of free-fall when Dr. Sunder states that free-fall means "no structural elements" are present. This point is astounding in its implications.

David Chandler's contributions are solid and important. As a nonscientist, I can see clearly what he illustrates and it makes sense. I applaud David and all the scientists for their hard work.

Let me just say as a nonscientist what I believe.
If controlled demolition didn't have criminal implications, NIST and everyone else would have come to that conclusion quickly and unanimously. Controlled demolition was not one of the options for NIST to conclude as the cause of the collapse of WTC 7 because it would mean we have been lied to about 911. It would mean that the official story is bullshit and that someone had to rig the building for demolition long before 911.
It is akin to thousands of people seeing someone shoot and kill another person with one bullet to the head at point blank range and then getting lost in the minutia of what kind of shoes the victim was wearing, or arguing that the victim actually died of a stroke just before the bullet entered his head. Ridiculous on its face, but similar to the NIST tap dance about WTC 7. NIST is grasping at straws.
NIST has spent a great deal of time (7 years) and effort composing an elaborate alternative explanation that, if believed, exonerates the real culprits. NIST is a US government agency. They are under the Commerce Department which is under Bush/Cheney. Do they have bias? Of course they do. What would happen to Dr. Sham Sunder et al if he and his team concluded that any of the buildings were felled by controlled demolition? Face it. This was not an option for them.
I say this.

Show me another building that came down like WTC 7 that wasn't a controlled demolition. My understanding is that there is no such other case.
I don't discount the scientific approach to proving the controlled demolition, but the splitting of hairs about all the "modeled" conclusions by NIST can cause some of us to lose sight of the obvious.
If it looks exactly like a classic controlled demolition, and historically there are no other similar buildings that have come down it that way that weren't controlled demolitions, then the overwhelming odds are that WTC 7 was a controlled demolition.

I agree completely with what you say. I believe all three buildings were felled by CD.
No other steel framed high rise has ever collapsed completely from any mechanism before that I'm aware of. Except in the case of CD. And certainly they looked like three CD's.
But many are influenced and persuaded by bullshit like posted in the DU thread I linked. A few members there constantly push the official bullshit story and team up on any members offering any dissent or questioning. That site gets a lot of traffic I think and it's a good place to spread and demand truth. Nothing will ever change and we'll never get the truth is my fear without teamwork and enlightening the public. I hate to be so pessimistic but I think our great grandchildren will still be wondering what the truth regarding 9/11 is just like with the JFK assassination.

that anti-truther he's arguing with actually stated in a thread a while back that the collapses of the towers was like a sledge hammer impacting "stubin glass! I rolled in the floor after reading that one. Yet he claims to completely understand NIST's data. Yeah right!
