A "Command-and-Control Issue”

A "Command-and-Control Issue”

Review and Update on the B-52 Nuclear Cruise Missile "Mistake"

Hans Kristensen, an expert on US nuclear forces, said he knew of no other publicly acknowledged case of live nuclear weapons being flown on bombers since the late 1960s.

"It seems so fantastic that so many points, checks can dysfunction," he said. "And we have so many points and checks specifically so we don't have these kinds of incidents."

Kristensen said the air force keeps a computerized command and control system that traces any movement of a nuclear weapon so that they have a complete picture of where they are at any given time.

He said there would be checks and detailed procedures at various points from the time they are moved out of bunkers until they are loaded onto planes, and flown away.

"That's perhaps what is most worrisome about this particular incident is that apparently an individual who had command authority about moving these weapons around decided to so," he said.

Read Peter Dale Scott's new book ASAP

My copy of Peter Dale Scott's new book 'The Road to 9/11: Wealth, Empire and the Future of America" arrived this afternoon. I am on page 5 of the introduction but I can already say "read this book ASAP".

Scooter Libby's Pardon and 9/11

Scooter Libby's pardon begs the question of what he would have talked about had he been truly faced with prison. Whatever it was, it was important enough for Bush to grant Libby a last-second reprieve so he wouldn't have to go to jail.

I thought back to something I had tripped upon a while ago, something that involved Libby, which happened on September 10, 2001, the day before the twin towers were struck.

On the CNN site, in a timeline available from this page [ ], I found this stunning entry:

"SEPTEMBER 10, 2001 A CIA plan to strike at al Qaeda in Afghanistan, including support for the anti-Taliban Northern Alliance, is given to the White House. Sen. Dianne Feinstein asks for a meeting with Vice President Dick Cheney. The California Democrat is told that Cheney's staff would need six months to prepare for a meeting."

When I read this, I was stunned on two levels.

"In the Absence of Reason" by Chas. Sullivan

In the Absence of Reason

By Charles Sullivan

Two excerpts:

"I offered to cite the evidence and even provide source materials for them to peruse. Neither of them was willing to examine the evidence. Neither would hear any of it. Both men were visibly agitated at the thought that such evidence may actually exist, and that it could be so easily produced. They were afraid to confront the facts, or to be confronted by them. Their entire belief system was at risk.

The very idea that the United States government might be complicit in the death of thousands of its own citizens as a pretext for war is still preposterous to most U.S. citizens, despite the historical record that is suppressed in the mainstream, but widely available from other sources. The sound of so many minds slamming shut like a steel prison door is deafening."

Those Damned “Conspiracy Theories”: Why We Must Discuss Them

Should there be open discussion of “conspiracy theories”?

Must even the disinterested individual pay attention to them?

Here’s why.

(Calling them “conspiracy theories”, though, simply buys into someone else’s purposefully-generated meme.)

Critical events that dramatically alter the nature of our society, its governance, its culture, its foreign policy, its military commitments to war, changes in social attitudes, and the relationships or social contract as expressed in the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, deserve our whole-hearted attention.

Related pronouncements (official and unofficial statements) about those critical events by the US Government, its officials, its official bodies, its elected representatives, its investigatory and intelligence agencies, et al are the core of the interaction between the public and the government. Similarly, pertinent statements by leading press and media spokespeople are a major conduit of information and attitude and help shape our awareness, involvement, understanding and participation in our government and our society.

"The War on Consciousness"

Paul Levy has written a piece called "The War on Consciousness" ... He is the author of “The Madness of George Bush: A Reflection of Our Collective Psychosis".

You can read it in its entirety here:

Here are some excerpts:

"We have the most criminal regime in all of our history wreaking unspeakable horror on the entire planet, while simultaneously waging war on the consciousness of its own citizens...."

'The prima facie case remains unrefuted.' --Dr. Griffin

The prima facie case remains unrefuted.

“If raising disturbing questions about the official account would be seen as both unpatriotic and sacrilegious, it is not surprising that, as both Rena Golden and Dan Rather admit, the mainline press in America has not raised these questions. It is also not surprising that right-wing and even middle-of-the-road commentators on political affairs have not raised serious questions about the official account. It is not even surprising that some of them – including Jean Bethke Elshtain, a professor of social and political ethics –have declared that the accusation of official complicity is beyond the pale of reasonable debate, so that any arguments on its behalf can simply be ignored. Elshtain, calling the suggestion that American officials, including the President, were complicit in the attacks “preposterous”, adds: “This sort of inflammatory madness exists outside the boundary of political debate” and therefore does not even “deserve a hearing”. From this perspective, it is not necessary to examine the evidence put forward by critics of the official account, even though some of these critics are fellow intellectuals teaching in neighboring universities – such as two well-respected Canadian academics, economist Michel Chossudovsky and social philosopher John McMurtry [see below for relevant links]. Although Elshtain points out that “if we get our description of events wrong, our analyses and our ethics will be wrong too”, she evidently thinks it unnecessary to consider the possibility that the official description about the events of 9/11 might be wrong. Although this attitude is unfortunate, especially when it is expressed within the intellectual community, it is not surprising. What is surprising, however, is that America’s leftist critics of US policy, who are seldom worried about being called unpatriotic or sacrilegious, have for the most part not explored, at least in public discourse, the possibility of official complicity.”

“If a significant portion of the evidence summarized here holds up, the conclusion that the attacks of 9/11 succeeded because of official complicity would become virtually inescapable.”

Rare Blood Cancer Hits 9/11 Responders

Doctor Tracking WTC Illnesses Fears Cancer Could Be Next Plague
Among Those Exposed to Dust

The Associated Press

The head of the largest program tracking the health of World Trade Center site workers said several have developed rare blood cell cancers, raising fears that cancer will become a "third wave" of illnesses among those exposed to toxic dust after Sept. 11.

Dr. Robin Herbert, co-director of the World Trade Center Medical Monitoring Program at Mount Sinai Medical Center, said researchers who have screened 20,000 of the estimated 40,000 ground zero workers are "most concerned" about lymphatic and blood cancer cases.

"We're worried about a third wave, which is the possibility of cancer down the road," Herbert said in an audiotaped interview posted on the New England Journal of Medicine's Web site.

Denial: The 51st State

Paul Levy has written a powerful piece called "Denial: The 51st State".

You can read it in its entirety here:

The opening paragraph:

"What the underlying military-industrial-financial crime syndicate that controls our government is doing, both domestically and internationally, is so horrifying (please see my article Homeland Insecurity that it is literally traumatizing to consciously bear witness to it, to experience it. When we become traumatized, we become stuck, literally “frozen in time,” as our ability to creatively respond and mobilize ourselves in the present moment into effective action in the world becomes in-operative. When we become overwhelmed by trauma, we are not able to creatively express our internal experience in a way that dis-charges what has been triggered in us. We feel impotent. We are unable to give voice to our experience, as our power to be ourselves has become foreign to us. We become mute. When we become traumatized, we lose touch with our inner voice, which is our guiding spirit, our true genius."

Another paragraph:

Gore on 9/11 Truth: "...outside the range of possibility"

An excerpt from

courtesy of "Speaking Truth To Power" at :

"I want to focus on one brief exchange in the Gore interview because it says a lot. The interviewer focused on Gore's claim that the invasion of Iraq was the 'single greatest mistake in the history of the United States'. With some prodding, Gore expanded. By 'mistake' he meant the acceptance of a panoply of lies by Bush and his associates that deceived the people into believing Saddam had played a role in 9/11. My ears perked up. Could it be possible Gore was inching toward a hint that something hugely nefarious had taken place behind the scenes? His claim that the American people had committed a monstrous 'mistake' in supporting the war and in allowing themselves to be foolishly deceived by Bush and his accomplices just might open the door for a rational discussion of 9/11. False flag ops are old hat in American history, and Gore knows it. I was on pins and needles.

Dr.Griffin is a NeoCon disinformation artist?!

Piece of Mind

Piece of Mind

As citizens and media consumers, we are embedded and embroiled in a battle for our minds.

When we actively tune into television news or other programming, read the major newspapers, seek out alternative media, play video games, watch a movie, or browse the Internet, we are subject to the influences, overtly and covertly, of people, organizations and ideologies which remain hidden to us.

There is also increasing evidence that we are subject to having our thoughts and mental processes surveilled and affected, even passively, beyond our choice or recognition.

This six-part series will examine the news media, propaganda, social agenda setting, the influences of corporations, the Pentagon, the CIA and related organizations, in driving not only what you perceive but also how you perceive it, what you think you understand, and perhaps how you will behave in a given socio-political context.

Several cases studies will be presented.

Numerous articles and other sources will be noted.

In some cases, this effort is focused on the masses… reaching tens of millions of people at once, or repetitively.
