Headline News Covers Bill Maher Hecklers/ Building 7
Did anyone else see this?? CNN's Headline News just covered a segment on Bill Maher's hecklers and his vulgar response to them. It showed the first two hecklers and then Bill's lashing out. I was sure this would be it with no mention of Building 7... however much to my surprise they then brought up Building 7 and showed clips of its demise! They mentioned how the protesters are saying it was an "implosion" as they showed the footage. Then they showed the mock up clip by truthers giving Bill the bird and saying that 2 planes can't cause THREE buildings to self-destruct, etc. CNN showed this clip! Then they even showed the 911truth.org webpage very closely for 6 or 7 seconds while saying that the 9/11 Truth Movement is calling 9/11 an inside job. Wow.
This was the finest news coverage I have seen to date and proves without question that the LA Wearechange action was VERY worthwhile! We need to do more.
We have clearly struck a nerve with the mainstream media. We now have a track to run on: "Building 7" and 911truth.org
We need to do everything in our power now to promote these two winners. Let's hit the streets with banners, posters and signs for Googling "9/11 Truth" and "World Trade Center 7."

You do not understand what is happening and why and why it's such a good thing.
"9/11 Truth" wouldn't even BE in the mainstream media right now if it wasn't for this event. This will inform millions of people about what it going on.
Sure, some will be dismissive, and such, but they more likely than not would be just as dismissive in any other situation, even "calm, reasoned debate and discussion". (and maybe even more so with the latter, since passion does affect people emotionally)
There is a reason why Civil Disobedience is used by pretty much ALL "movements", and that is to get the ideas and concepts into the papers and TV news and magazines and anywhere else they can.
Because, THEN, reasonable, intelligent, compassionate, empathetic, and similar attributed people will learn about what the people in the movement are trying to do and the information they have.
Or you can sit back on your ass and do "nothing", or take years and years trying to calmly and quietly inform people and make them aware, while you get basically no mention in the mainstream media, and your movement dies, and you achieve nothing.

When you are closed off from the mainstream, you have to get pissed and stop taking it. When did this type of citizen action become ineffective and appear crazy - when we did it? Who says it has to be Bottom-up or "controlled" to demolish a structure? Look at this concrete structure from Hiroshima ( a one min. walk from Ground Zero)-tough stuff. Conventional bomb runs are top-down and they do their work well enough.

It's been a while that haven't heard anything from Bill O'Reilly regarding 9/11 truth. It would be nice if we could make him attack us every once in a while too... . Amazingly, they don't know how much they help us by doing that.
What a shame we don't abandon our strongest argument
governWhen Richard Gage gives his Power Point presentations, at the end he always asks for a show of hands as to who still disagrees that controlled demolition took down the WTC. And then he asks -- if there are any, bearing in mind that there are usually many engineers and architects in the room -- what it is in the evidence that he's already painstakingly presented that they find unpersuasive. He then proceeds to address those concerns, until nobody is any longer prepared to argue the point.
You post here regularly to tell us to give up on controlled demolition, which, aside from controlled demolition being self-evidently true once one has some basic background facts, is the fastest and clearest way to begin to demolish for the benefit of novices the government's 9/11 claims.
What, pray tell, is it in the controlled demolition thesis that you find unpersuasive?

My objections to the CD of 1 and 2 theory arise in two areas.
First, I object to the interpretation of the visual evidence of the collapses of the towers.
I believe people just aren’t looking right or that in some cases they just aren’t looking period.
I remember a reply I got earlier from someone whose name has been mentioned enough now : “ are you telling us we’re not seeing what we’re seeing ? ‘ “ I replied :” I’m saying that what you are perceiving is not what’s really happening “.
The list of characteristics that came about via Hoffman, Griffin and now Cage has been a
‘ how to interpret what you see ‘ guide for many 911 truthers. The supreme irony to me is that DRG points to the unique way in which the towers came down, listing a number of observable characteristics, as evidence that CD was at play, but that at the same time, there is no evidence available of any building that ever came down in that way before or since. In other words, they can only compare the collapses to footage of buildings that came down by CD, in ways that are completely different ! ( Again : I’m not talking about WTC 7 here. )
I can, for now at least, only conclude that the unique, top down destruction of the towers looks like it had everything to do with the strike / fire damage. That’s what I see. I don’t see beams being violently ejected sideways. I don’t believe ( parts of ) the towers could ever topple or fall over sideways whilst maintaining their structural integrity. They were never built to do that. I don’t see the towers coming down at freefall speed, and they simply do not.
In fact, the freefall idea is pivotal to the CD hypothesis, because it would prove there is no resistance below, etc. To me the huge plumes of debris , combined with simple time measurements, can lead to only one conclusion : there was resistance.
Otherwise the huge noise produced by the collapses would be caused mostly by explosives.
Is that what that sound is ? I don’t think so.
‘ GROUP X ‘
The second kind of objection I have concerns the scenario of CD, in terms of who planned what, how and why ; a strikingly unpopular topic among the people here, by the way. Not meaning to be cynical or disrespectful to anyone, I feel someone in the 911 truth group should have done more work on this. My suspicion is that that no one has, because when you reason along on it, it’s hard to keep it probable, or even possible.
On a gut reaction level, I find the whole idea itself unbelievable. I realize that’s hardly scientific, so, suspending my disbelief as much as possible, I try to think through the scenario as it could have occurred, and I have trouble making it plausible.
How could the scenario go ? You may disagree with me, of course, and I would welcome your views.
Scenario-wise, I would have to imagine that in addition to ‘ the hijackers ‘ ( either really Muslim fundamentalist terrorists or some kind of US black ops agents, or some hybrid form of the two ), there is a Group X , made up of some alliance of black ops / renegade government faction and ‘ Larry Silverstein ‘ -type interests. What drives this motley crew together ? Why would they help each other ? Why would they need each other ? Their plan would be to either use a terrorist attack that they know will be happening as a cover for their real agenda, which is the destruction of the towers for the purposes of....solving an expensive asbestos problem ? Scamming the insurance ?
All while killing thousands of innocent men and women in the process ? How greedy can a person get ? Effectively triggering a 4 year recession ? Doing severe harm to the economy ? ...Hhhmmmm...
Or was the downing of the towers about completing the illusion of shock and horror, because, somehow, just the sight of the plane impacts and fires and poor people jumping to their deaths and others being burned alive and suffocating wasn’t effective enough ? If the attacks were a false flag operation, the total destruction of the Twin Towers would not have been necessary to create a scare effect on the US people of unprecedented proportions. So to me, that rules CD out as a motive for the so-called ‘ renegade CIA / NSA /false flag faction ‘
So who in ‘ Group X ‘ would need the collapses so bad ?
In the hope that the towers would be hit by the planes, they’d have to wire two of the largest buildings in the world with a huge number of explosives / incendiaries, with the people still inside, so that the buildings would be brought down fully, not just hit by planes. However, and this cannot be overstated, this complicated CD process must be carried out so as to make sure it didn’t look like controlled demolition, because the idea is to make it appear that the terrorist attack caused the collapses. Why ? If they wanted to blame terrorists for what they wanted to do, namely bring down the towers, why not do a repeat of 1993, ( this time successful ) and bring them down at night with minimal casualties ? Seems to me it would be possible to set up a ‘ terrorist ‘ patsy for that.
If the terrorists didn’t need the buildings to come fully down to achieve their goals, then by the same token, neither would the false flag / black ops people. So the only group with a vested interest in full demolition is....who ? Larry Silverstein ? N Y Port Authority ?
Would these people kill thousands to make more money ? Does anyone else share my sense of disbelief here ?
Please note I don’t rule out the possibility that 9 / 11 was a false flag operation just because I don’t believe in CD. It’s still possible that Atta and cronies were handled in such a way that in reality, their actions were used by others with a secret agenda to achieve very different goals. Also, I remain very puzzled by WTC 7, by the molten metal under the rubble, to name but a few things that I feel need to be answered. .

Unfortunately, your text is so long that I'd need a couple of uninterrupted hours to answer it point by point. I don't have that time right now, and by the time I do this blog thread will be so old that practically nobody reading at this website would be reading it anyway, so it wouldn't be worth my taking all the trouble.
Does anybody else reading here have the time to critique this stuff now? The record might as well be set straight.

THE LIST
I believe not enough attention is paid to the way in which the towers were designed and built.
It determines how they stood for many years and also how they were destroyed in 2001.
Everyone here is familiar with the list of characteristics DRG mentions that are meant to indicate that the towers’ collapse is such that only CD could have caused it. I believe Jim Hoffman and DRG and recently others like Cage, are interpreting the video and photo evidence incorrectly. This I feel is caused by their failure to take into account the way in which the towers were constructed, and as a consequence, the way in which they came down. What happened for me, as I looked again and again at the familiar collapse footage and stills taken from many different angles, with the list in hand so to speak, is that I began to realise that what is clearly visible in that material in fact does not fit the list very well at all.
The list, now heavily back in use by the architects, illustrates clearly how the collapses are perceived by DRG, Cage et. al.. The wording reflects a certain way of thinking about the towers as structures that leaves some crucial factors out. I will come to those.
In general, the towers are always referred to as ‘ steel frame buildings ‘, inferring that they posessed great internal strength. That’s why they speak of the towers or parts of the towers ‘ toppling over ‘ under certain conditions. The example Steven Jones cites of the top section falling straight to the ground vs. the top section falling through the remaining bottom section, is another illustration of that thinking : the bottom part would provide massive resistance, so it would not be possible for the top to fall through at such ‘ near freefall ‘ speeds. Something must be making that resistance go away instantly, and that something would have to be explosive charges, set off in sequence etc etc.
The reasoning here is : the freefall speed proves there is no resistance below, therefore explosives must be destroying the tower floor by floor very rapidly and in sequence. The masses of falling material and dust clouds are also explained by explosives, because what else could be causing them when there is no resistance ? In other words : Freefall proves no resistance proves CD.
I look at it quite differently : freefall does not occur precisely because there is ( dust-generating ) resistance. It takes around 18 seconds for the last piece of WTC 1 to hit the ground, ( not counting the 55 storey-high piece of central core that survives temporarily,tellingly ). Only falling perimeter columns make it to freefall speed : they hit the ground while the standing bottom part is still many storeys high.
THREE ELEMENTS
I understand the perspective and the disbelief of Hoffman, DRG, Jones and Cage, because I see what is lacking from their understanding of the towers as structures. What is lacking is a good concept of the interplay between the three main elements of which the towers were made : the core columns, the perimeter columns and the floors. The main point is, although made of steel, these elements and the way the were connected to form the towers, was nothing like a steel frame or steel grid found in many other highrise buildings.
The three elements all had very different functions and are used in very different ways.
They were implemented in the way they were to achieve maximum height ( equals max number of floors ) plus maximum open, column-less floor space. To achieve that, the more classic steel grid design was for the first time abandoned in favour of a revolutionary shift of the columns, usually evenly spaced for optimal load bearing, towards both the centre of the building and the outside perimeter, leaving large uninterrupted open office space. The central core was most solidly and ruggedly constructed, like a steel grid building in fact, but supporting an actual building with a footprint much larger than its own. The perimeter columns were assembled in stacks of three ( or thereabouts ) , with spandrels providing cross support. They provided additional vertical support and load bearing, plus torsioned resistance to lateral wind forces. ( This is a very much simplified version of the function and construction of the columns, but for the purposes of this argument, please bear with me ).
Now comes element number three : the floors. Large pans of steel, supported at their underside by steel trusses, filled with a 4 inch layer of concrete. The floors were designed and assembled to perform , among other things , two functions : bear the load of the tenants and their office equipment etc. plus, and this is the important part : enable the perimeter and core columns to do their work by fixing them in place relative to each other. The columns are strong enough to support their own weight plus the floors, but don’t fall down only if they are fixed in place one directly above the other, following a straight vertical line. A 1400 ft tall column made up of 110 sections will have no hope of lasting unless relative lateral forces are kept to a strict minimum. That was the all-important function of the floors, without which the columns simply could not stand, inspite of their often referred-to massive strength. The floors themselves had no real structural role in keeping the building up other than to handle the relatively small lateral force of fixing the central columns to the perimeter columns, floor by floor. That’s why the connections of the floors to the columns were designed to perform that function. The floors hung on both sides on brackets strong enough to bear their own static ( non-moving ) load plus office equipment and people, and strong enough to help keep the columns in their vertical alignment, so the columns could do the job they were designed to, i.e. hold up each other and 110 floors with open office space. Obviously, there were redundancies built in, though none prepared the buildings for what happenened on 9 11 2001.
COLLAPSE
( This is another area that merits very careful description so here I hope to be accurate enough for the purposes of this reply ).
Proponents of the CD hypothesis always speak of ‘ how the towers / buildings fell ‘.
It is important to note here that these two towers came down in a way unlike anything ever seen in the world, then and now. Never before or since have you seen a building, large or small, end up in pieces on the ground in that way. The towers failed at the plane impact area and the ‘ top part ‘ , above the impact, fell down on the intact ‘ lower part ‘ . That’s the simplest way you can put it. Strangely, the towers remained firmly standing until the very last floor fell. They were being destroyed from the top down, floor by floor, down from the impact zone to the ground. So the towers didn’t ‘ fall ‘ in any way any tower has ever fallen.
I think that is the case because of the unique way these buldings were damaged, and because of the unique way in which they were designed and constructed. .
Once the destruction begins,( yes I’m not explaining initiation ) I see the tops falling onto / through the intact parts somewhere at the impact zone. But instead of pushing down the entire structure floor by floor, I notice in the billowing smoke, columns surviving the initial ‘ demolition wave ‘ rushing by. These all appear to be ( sections of ) perimeter columns, that can be seen to slowly fall outward, pivoting on what must be parts of the perimeter still standing directly below. The taller these falling stacks of column are, the further away from the footprint they land. They are not violently blown sideways by some explosive force : they fall slowly outward like long poles, some then breaking up as they tumble down, trailing dust in their wake.
Nowhere do I see pieces of floor still attached to the columns. They are all sheared clean off.
Where are the floors ? They are all far below, collapsing onto eachother at high downward speed, while the columns buckle and fall without the floors there fixing them to the central core. The central core is a steel grid structure itself, so survives longer than the perimeter columns, but ultimately falls.
Meanwhile the central core exhibits the same shearing off of the floors. WTC 2 had a massive amount of core columns still standing after the floors and perimeter columns had fallen away. There is video and photo evidence that shows it clearly : not a trace of the floors is visible, only central core columns. WTC 1’s central core partially survives the massive forces of destruction, because as with WTC 2, the floors moved downward with great speed, ripping off the floors below instantly. The floors are gone from view. They are never visible anywhere during the collapses. They are collapsing inside, before the columns fall away and down, seconds later. They end up slamming into the basement, compressed in layers ( see photo of ‘ meteorites ‘ ) compacted by huge downward pressure. Nowhere is there any part of floor still attached to a column.
This is supported by the video from below just as the collapse starts.
You can see the result of the floors falling ( dusty air being blown out, windows breaking simultaneously per floor ) while the perimeter columns are still intact 5 or 6 storeys up : the downward velocity is high enough for the floors to be ripped clean off their brackets / clips and be pushed down, hitting each new floor with a short sharp blow many, many times beyond their design limits.
What you can see falling down in the widening plume of dust is not the floors, but only columns, mostly perimeter. The central core columns are falling in or close to the footprint. Strikingly, both towers have sections of perimeter at ground level still standing ! The highest parts of those also reveal no part of any floor ( truss ) still attached. They are all sheared off, and some photos show the bent clips.
SOME FINALTHOUGHTS
The towers came down in a way that is consistent with the way they were built and with the specific functions each one of their three constituent structural elements had. Each element fell in its own way, and consistent with the way it functioned in the structural interplay of elements.
The floors fell on top of each other, while the columns still maintained their vertical position.. The clips / brackets holding the floors in place break off while the columns, central core as well as perimeter, remain standing until the tremendous vibrations and shocks of the destruction below produce just enough lateral movement for however many are still standing, to fall.
From my point of view, the symmetry of the collapse is now logical, and not strange as DRG claims. The socalled totality of destruction is equally logical once you see how the collapses occur consistent with the way the towers were built and what structural elements they contained.
As for explosiveness, I see nothing being blown forcefully sideways, as Hoffman and DRG claim.
I have explained why some perimeter columns ended up far away from the original footprint.
Nothing to do with explosives.
The fact that both towers were destroyed in the same way is to me a strong indication not that they were both wired with explosives and blown up, but that they were both designed and built in uniquely similar ways, failed in their own uniquely similar ways after both being damaged in uniquely similar ways.
When trying to contruct a plausible scenario for the CD hypothesis, involving the hijackers and
‘ Group X ‘ ,who are blowing the buildings up in such a way that it doesn’t look like CD but really is, I have serious trouble twisting any kind of believeble scenario around that storyline. I notice by the way that this is an area all proponents of CD avoid. I believe that is because it quickly becomes highly improbable. I notice, in all this time, none of the movements brightest minds have dared tread in that mire. Coincidence ?
Finally : all of this doesn’t mean I can explain exactly when the collapses started or
I can’t even say for sure that no thermate or explosives were used to initiate collapse, although I can argue a strong case purely on logical grounds. In addition, the stream of metal falling from the South Tower is in the wrong corner to initiate collapse. The thermate evidence seems circumstantial.
Where was even a trace of demolition equipment ( of which it is claimed there was a lot ) in the pile ?
( I am still however mystified by the molten metal under the buildings, and the extreme heat.
I have yet to see a good link between that heat , especially weeks afterwards, and CD. )
The videos and photos of the collapse simply do not show CD at work. All the ‘ telltale ‘ signs of CD supposedly visible in the videos are for me adequately explained by the reasoning outlined above.
I wonder who would agree with me ?

Indeed, Beck makes this point graphic by having as his only guests two other MSM gatekeepers, there to back up Beck's own gatekeeping. Of course, if the major 9/11 truth claims really were "ridiculous," Beck should be delighted to have an outstanding representative or two exposed by confrontations with Meigs and/or Shermer.
No such luck, though. The viewer is just supposed to take those two (both of whose magazines are CIA-funded, by the way) and their straw man debunkings at their word.
By the way, what's the deal with Chris Matthews's loud nervous laughter (in the Bill Maher clip)? He sounds like he's scared to death. (As well he should be, knowing what monstrous crimes he helps keep covered up.)

I'm not saying he should not be confronted, I THINK HE TOTALLY SHOULD BE CONFRONTED! Dictates that the more you fear something or try to attack something, the more resistance you get from the target. 9/11 Truthers came to make some noise and Media took the bait. The more Corporate Media tries to stifle dissent, the more attention they bring. Trotting out Shermer and "skeptic society" Gurus with their ridiculous Straw Men will create the REAL skeptics to dig deeper into what they have been told about 9/11, and you'll have millions more questioning that day. This stuff gets people talking, as obviously observed in the past week. They're showing their fear by attacking, and they hope that the world doesn't notice. But they will, people are becoming exponentially more aware something is not right. So I say let them attack.
All this stuff about a more "acceptable" version of civil disobedience/protest makes no sense. What are you going to do, wrap 9/11 into a a package with a flashy bow before it can be discussed? As if the very act of questioning Government isn't "kooky" in the first place to the majority of the HIVE(America)?
People are going to point and giggle regardless. It could have been P.E.T.A. activists at the Bill Maher show and someone would have created some sarcastic commentary over it. The media WANT you to feel embarrassed at second guess yourself. They WANT you to retreat and think of a better "approach" that will be more palatable to the masses. 80% of all original thought and inner dialog in your brain is "FRINGE" to someone. But as soon as the Corporate Media whores start talking about it on prime time television, it's not so much "FRINGE" anymore, now is it?
The more you resist, the more you attract. It's a basic rule of the Universe and the Media hasn't gotten the memo yet.
The more I see the coverage, the more I think that this action at Bill Maher's show was "good". It's definitely bringing the conversation to the front and in more homes. Isn't that part of the whole premise, to spark debate? Let them pull out their little "Tim Mcveigh" slanders. The country and the world will see what's going on. People get more hip to Corporate Media every passing day and realize that they have a vested interest in the "official Line"....of any subject. And people know Glenn Beck is a hack. He's a fucking pizza delivery boy with a camera and a microphone. No worries.

O'REILLY: "Impact" segment tonight, as we have been reporting, the far left in America is growing bolder by the week. It now believes it can interrupt church services, political gatherings, and even television programs.
This sacrilege last week by gay militants in San Francisco went unpunished, as city officials refused to condemn it. And the Catholic church has not filed charges.
A few weeks ago, I chastised the Democratic presidential candidates for attending a meeting sponsored by a far left Internet smear site. There's no way any politician should have honored that group with an appearance. And the fact that the next president of the United States feels that crazy left-wing loons should be recognized is beyond disturbing.
Now comes another incident, this one an interruption of the Bill Maher HBO program by crazy people who feel 9/11 was an inside job that America attacked itself. Take a look.

You see, in that instance, I'm actually defending President Bush. I don't think President Bush brought down the World Trade Center.

Bill Maher can add "security guard" to his job description alongside comedian and political commentator.
Maher on Friday night helped security remove a rowdy protester from the studio during his weekly HBO cable television show "Real Time with Bill Maher," and it was all captured on live television.
Maher was talking science during one of his weekly panel discussions when a protester in his audience stood up, held up a smuggled-in sign reading "9/11 is a cover up fraud" and shouted comments to the same effect.
The host tried to shout down the audience member, who only became more agitated.
"Do we have some (expletive) security in this building," Maher yelled, "or do I have to come down there and kick his (expletive)?"
When security reached the man's aisle and the man resisted leaving, Maher ran into the seats and helped them push him out the door, shouting "Out! Out! Out!"
Several other protesters, sprinkled throughout the audience, then stood up and shouted.
"This isn't the Iowa caucus, OK, we're not here to debate," Maher shouted with most of his audience cheering him on. "This is the problem with live television."
In the Iowa caucuses, a key early test in the presidential nominating process, voters meet publicly at sites across the Midwest state to discuss their party's presidential candidates and begin choosing delegates to the national nominating convention.
The incident was shown live on the East Coast, and the network appeared to show the entire affair unedited for the taped-delayed West Coast version.
After the instigators were ejected, Maher told his panelists MSNBC's Chris Matthews, Los Angeles Times columnist Joel Stein and Congresswoman Sheila Jackson that they often linger outside his studio to share 9/11 conspiracy theories with him and try to get into the show.
"It's the only time I defend Bush," he said.
"I'm thinking about firing my audience department," he added.
Regular audience members found the ruckus thrilling.
"We picked a very exciting night to be here," Eliot Stein, a 54-year-old high school teacher, said via cell phone. "There's few live TV shows anymore, and here you got to see, it was like a movie. it was great."
Phone and e-mail messages left with HBO officials late Friday were not immediately returned.

CARLSON: That was the scene in Bill Maher`s studio Friday night when a member of a very vocal 9/11 conspiracy theorist group erupted into the studio. Maher ordered security guards to remove the hecklers, and his remaining audience cheered the move, deriding the conspiracy theorists as lunatics. However, a poll in 2006 suggested that more than one-third of the entire American population suspects the federal government either assisted in the 9/11 terror attacks or took no action to stop them so the country could go to war in the Middle East.
What explains the persistence of these conspiracy theories. Here to tell us, we welcome back "The Washington Post`s" Eugene Robinson and online columnist Bob Franken. Gene, it`s almost unbelievable, if you think about one-third of the population believes the federal government -- presumably thousands or many hundreds of people in the government colluded somehow to kill American -- innocent American citizens for some abstract reason?
ROBINSON: Yes, you know, it`s a reflection I think at this point primarily of the unpopularity of the war. I mean I get these e-mails. I get e-mails from people all the time.
CARLSON: No one ever talks about the in the mainstream press.
ROBINSON: And why is the mainstream media hiding the fact that this and that. Goes on to cite --
CARLSON: We are hiding. Here is what we`re hiding; we`re hiding the fact that hundreds of thousands of -- many millions of people apparently believe this.
ROBINSON: Yes, I mean, I actually do wonder what that number means. Is it that millions of people are willing to entertain this notion, millions of people have some sort of questions, think there`s some unanswered questions about 9/11. I don`t know. I wish I had a factual explanation for this. Because on its face it`s absurd.
CARLSON: If you`re willing to even entertain the notion, think about what that means. You are willing to believe that the president or the Congress or somebody, them, in the federal, people in charge, would kill more than 3,000 people who didn`t do anything wrong because it helped them pass the Patriot Act or invade Iraq. That`s so evil, how could you still live in this country if you believed that?
FRANKEN: Well, I think that nobody takes it to that next step. I think we have a combination of things going. Number one, I think that there is an overall cynicism, probably warranted cynicism, about not just government, but this whole amorphous society that we live and all the institutions. who people feel are not treating them fairly, number one. Number two, you have people who take advantage of the -- talk radio hosts, people who blog, who are under no requirement to say anything that has any sanity it to. They can say whatever they want. Somebody`s going to believe them.
You put all those things together, and I think that you have a society right now that`s willing to believe or, more probably, not disbelieve anything. So there you are.
ROBINSON: One thing you have to add is that could anyone believe that the government of the United States would, you know, would cherry pick flimsy intelligence in order to justify an invasion say of Iraq in order to satisfy this grand dream of --
CARLSON: I think people -- I`ve never bought -- it would be so self defeating, without re-litigating this -- but it would be so self defeating for the administration to make up evidence they know would be revealed as false. It`s kind of impossible to believe that.
ROBINSON: It`s more subtle than that.
CARLSON: If I believe that people are stupid, yes, totally.
ROBINSON: To believe what they want to believe, to not believe evidence that perhaps one should give equal weight to, but that doesn`t support the case for war.
CARLSON: Are you kidding, I do that all the time in my personal life.
ROBINSON: You`re not president.
CARLSON: I`m not defending it. I`m merely saying, it`s a long way from there to flying planes full of innocents into office buildings. That`s completely insane.
FRANKEN: I don`t think it`s a long way. I think it`s a short way. I think what you if is this very short distance between people, as the movie once said, who are mad as hell and don`t want to take it any more, and ready to believe just about anything.
CARLSON: That`s frightening. If you have a population that stupid and reckless and they`re in charge of the government, maybe it is time to leave the country.
FRANKEN: Or maybe that fed up.
CARLSON: What does that mean? I`m fed up with a million things and I don`t believe things that have no basis in fact.
ROBINSON: You don`t think they believe this in France?
CARLSON: I don`t know. Maybe in Burkino Faso there is a little island of sanity. I`m just saying, that`s frightening. Considering that the population is in control, I don`t even want to think it through any more. This is why we never do this topic on the show, because it upsets me too much. I don`t want to know these kind of facts about America.
Speaking of facts that are not widely known, the "New York Times," Jim Rutenberg, this morning, sort of blew the cover on how the media industry works by outing our news director, Matt Drudge, on the front page. He basically let everybody know that Matt Drudge picks our stories for us, which he does. But he also revealed that the Hillary Clinton campaign, which has been attacked by Drudge over the years in some pretty duty ways, is now sucking up to Drudge and using him -- or attempting to. That`s unbelievable.
FRANKEN: Which just goes to show that collectively the Hillary Clinton momma did not raise no fool. The truth of the matter is that the bloggers now, particularly somebody like Matt Drudge, they are the ones who set the agenda. When I was starting out in television news, the joke used to be, to find out what I`d be working on, they`d say read the "New York Times" and the "Washington Post." Now, to find out what is going to be in the "Washington Post," you find out what`s being said on Matt Drudge. No offense to you.
ROBINSON: None taken. The "Washington Post" website is the second most trafficked newspaper site in the country. The biggest single driver of traffic to our website is "The Drudge Report." It really is.
CARLSON: You got to wonder if people out in the rest of the country know that, but here we`ve said it. It`s on page one of the "New York Times." Now you know our secret. I feel like the magician -- the lady is not really sawed in half. I guess that`s what people are finding out. There`s an amazing poll from the Value Voters summit, which we talked about last week. It took place here in Washington. All the candidates came and made their pitches. Giuliani made his pitch. They didn`t agree with anything he said, almost by definition.
Yet here are the results of the poll taken of people who attended afterward. The winner was Mitt Romney, kind of amazing, considering these are mostly evangelicals and he`s Mormon. They don`t seem to mind. He got 27. Mike Huckabee also 27, Ron Paul 15, Fred Thompson 10, Rudy Giuliani negative -- less than 2 percent, John McCain less than 1.5 percent. John McCain pro life voting record his whole career, since 1986. What is this?
FRANKEN: First of all, I think we should point out there were two straw polls. One was of the participants there. The second one was of the online poll. The skeptic, lord knows I`m not a skeptic, but the skeptic might wonder if Mitt Romney did the same thing did he in the straw poll in Iowa. That is to say, see to it that those online voters were, how shall I say it, friends of Mitt.
ROBINSON: These are activists. This is not a scientific poll. Scientific polls of that voting population seem to indicate there are a lot of at least evangelical voters who have a real problem with Mitt Romney and his Mormon faith, and fewer who have problems on those issues with John McCain. I`m not sure I --
CARLSON: I don`t know, I bet -- it would be interesting to see a reliable poll of sentiment among evangelicals. I bet you Mitt Romney would beat John McCain. There`s just something stylistically.
FRANKEN: But the real question is, in the straw poll who do think they was responsible for 9/11?
CARLSON: That`s it. Again, I don`t even want to know. That`s the last time we`re going to talk about that on this show. It gives me the creeps too much.

Yesterday, Glenn Beck said, on his radio program:
I think there is a handful of people who hate America. Unfortunately for them, a lot of them are losing their homes in a forest fire today.
Today, USA Today got a reaction:
A spokesman for Beck expressed surprise that bloggers are seizing on this quotation as an example of incivility. "To most rational people, unfortunately still means unfortunately," Chris Balfe, the show's producer, tells On Deadline through a spokesman.
So Glenn Beck and his entire staff don't see anything wrong with claiming that some unknown percentage of the half million Southern Californians fleeing wildfires, some of whom have already lost their homes, "hate America". I have smoke in my clothes, in my bed sheets, in my friggin mouth as I type this(yes you can taste it in the air). There is an orange haze everywhere and it looks like sunset all day.One of my family members is in danger of losing their home if winds shift.
Glenn Beck is a Nazi, case closed. People like him and the rest of the Media only expose themselves by this type of talk. It may make me angry but I can only hope they do it more. Another law of the Universe....what you reap is what you sow. When, not if, people have a paradigm shift on a massive scale, people like the Glenn Becks of the world had better run. That is not a threat, that is reality. People like him had better pray for 5% of the compassion they deserve.

Using a printer, print up sheets of hundreds of repetitions of a website link, or links. Then cut it up like fortune cookie size. You can have thousands of these confetti like truth links to throw all over the place when they come to drag you away.
You can throw them where the crowd is going to gather, on the seats of the studio, etc. Just an idea.
