For anyone unfamiliar with the details, here is a link to a good online article that summarizes the events leading up to the coup and explains the cooperation of MI6 and the CIA in organizing the coup and also explains how the coup was carried out. I am sure it's not necessary to point out to this audience that this plot involved multiple parties, (i.e. The CIA, MI6 and the Shah and his supporters) engaging in a CONSPIRACY to overthrow a legitimate government, and for the icing on the cake, the conspirators used false flag terrorism against civilians as one of the tools to achieve their goals. A 'great venture':overthrowing the government of Iran

This is a slightly abridged version of part of chapter four of Mark Curtis's book The Ambiguities of Power: British Foreign Policy since 1945 (Zed Press, 1995).

In August 1953 a coup overthrew Iran's nationalist government of Mohammed Musaddiq and installed the Shah in power. The Shah subsequently used widespread repression and torture in a dictatorship that lasted until the 1979 Islamic revolution. The 1953 coup is conventionally regarded primarily as a CIA operation, yet the planning record reveals not only that Britain was the prime mover in the initial project to overthrow the government but also that British resources contributed significantly to the eventual success of the operation. Two first-hand accounts of the Anglo-American sponsorship of the coup - by the MI6 and CIA officers primarily responsible for it - are useful in reconstructing events. (1) Many of the secret planning documents that reveal the British role have been removed from public access and some of them remain closed until the next century - for reasons of 'national security'. Nevertheless, a fairly clear picture still emerges. Churchill later told the CIA officer responsible for the operation that he 'would have loved nothing better than to have served under your command in this great venture'. (2)

As clever as these hawks are, I don't think they understand the rising tide of anti-authoritarianism. Telling people not to question something is like telling them not to look in a sparkly box that is shaped like a car.

I caught this on the last replay of the night and kicked myself for not recording it.

There seems to be more and more effort made to support the government's conspiracy theory and cast aspersions on anyone who questions the approved version of history.

I see this as a clear indication of the impact the truth movement is having and the ever less subtle ways the elites are using to combat the rising tide of truth.

They found that ignoring us didn't work.

They found that outright ridicule only brought more attention to the true facts of 9/11.

They quickly realized that the facts were not on their side, so it was pointless to try and argue the facts.

Thus, they have retreated to these carefully nuanced forms of ridicule, bold statements of the official fable as fact and completely opaque conflations of 9/11 truth with holocaust denial.

As the eleventh day of each month passes and more people are openly embracing 9/11 truth, their desperation grows.

The present flurry of neutral or even positive media attention to 9/11 truth can only increase their panic.

And while we're at it, let's have a look at the evidence that Osama Bin Laden's responsible for 9/11- is there ANY besides the "confession" tapes? Let's have look at the authentication process for the supposed confession video tapes- the Establishment has never revealed its "authentication" process and in the case of some of the tapes has never even claimed they WERE authenticated. And the 9/11 cOmission Report's narrative is largely based on testimony obtained by torture, besides ignoring 70% of the families very reasonable, obvious questions and ignoring the testimony of whistleblowers like Sibel Edmonds, Robert Wright, Coleen Rowley and Behrooz Sarshar, while accepting it without question, despite false statements and contradictions, from prime suspects like Myers, Rice, Rumsfeld, Bush and Cheney.

Brzezinski: Yes. According to the official version of history, CIA aid to the Mujahadeen began during 1980, that is to say, after the Soviet army invaded Afghanistan, 24 Dec 1979. Q: Despite this risk, you were an advocate of this covert action. But perhaps you yourself desired this Soviet entry into war and looked to provoke it?

Q: When the Soviets justified their intervention by asserting that they intended to fight against a secret involvement of the United States in Afghanistan, people didn't believe them. However, there was a basis of truth. You don't regret anything today?

Brzezinski: Regret what? That secret operation was an excellent idea. It had the effect of drawing the Russians into the Afghan trap and you want me to regret it? The day that the Soviets officially crossed the border, I wrote to President Carter: We now have the opportunity of giving to the USSR its Vietnam war. Indeed, for almost 10 years, Moscow had to carry on a war unsupportable by the government, a conflict that brought about the demoralization and finally the breakup of the Soviet empire.

Q: And neither do you regret having supported the Islamic [integrisme], having given arms and advice to future terrorists?

Brzezinski: What is most important to the history of the world? The Taliban or the collapse of the Soviet empire? Some stirred-up Moslems or the liberation of Central Europe and the end of the cold war?
