The Citgo videotape of the Pentagon on 9/11 has been released, but apparently does not show the attack itself. Here is Raw Story's coverage, with video.
The FBI has also agreed to release to Judicial Watch a videotape obtained from the Doubletree Hotel near the Pentagon by November 9, 2006.

I had just posted a blog entry yesterday wondering what ever happened to the purported videos being released.... and voila.
Hilarious, really. I mean, WTF? Why did they wait 5 years to release something that shows nothing? What about all the other dozens of tapes from the Pentagon itself? So many questions....
Bottom line: The government looks ridiculous and keeps shooting itself in the foot by dribbling out these tapes. This is NOT hurting the truth movement at all.
And, on edit, let me clarify that even though I don't believe Flight 77 hit the Pentagon, and I also do believe the WTC buildings were brought down by controlled demolition, these are NOT the cornerstone arguments for a new investigation into 9/11. But, I can't help but laugh each time the government tries to hurt the 9/11 truth movement with releases of these ridiculous Pentagon videos -- nobody in their right mind is going to BLAME the "conspiracy theorists" when the videos show nothing. Makes no sense. In my view, this just opens MORE QUESTIONS since no definitive proof has been seen, more than 5 years after the attacks.

AJ's warning about 'Pentagate' is overblown. If they show a Flight77 video, it wouldn't "turn everybody away" from the other issues. 9/11 truth is there because Bushco underestimated the public's intelligence.
And a new (probably fabricated) Flight77 video would also stand in contradiction to all the previous ones, like the NTSB reconstruction with too much altitude 1/2 second before the crash. And considering the computer animated reconstruction of the crash, with the 757 flying at ground level etc., this just goes to show how improbable the govt. version is.

Just think how much scrutiny any video would be subject to, and if it turned out to be proven to be a fake, it would be devasting to the OV.

I was watching the "In The Footsteps Of Bin Laden" special on CNN... they show probably dozens of video clips of Bin Laden speaking, shooting his gun, etc... then when it comes to the part of him saying that he did 9/11... Until there is trial, if that ever happens, they don't have to prove anything. They just have to continue the support for their myth. In the meantime, it's up to us to prove to the American people that the government was involved. We have to break through the myth, and this requires proof. The couch-potato approach won't work. Absent a trial, this statement is false.

GW, I missed this on your blog recently -- hard to keep up with everything! But, this one is quite good, and you talked about the court of public opinion. That's what is on our side, and why the Bush administration AND the media are now on the defensive. I do think we're winning and people are waking up to the myriad of lies. That's why ANY new pentagon video (even a manipulated one) will NOT work. There are too many people learning that even if the pentagon story were to be proven to match the government's conspiracy theory, there are still 9999 other questions that haven't been answered. And, this is why I believe the government doesn't have anything on the Pentagon -- if they did, they would have released it by now IN ORDER TO KEEP PEOPLE FROM LOOKING FURTHER. But, it's too late -- 5 years later, they haven't produced a smoking gun by any means, and people HAVE looked further -- there's just no turning back once you learn about the war games, the put options, the stalled and underfunded and politicized "investigation." Why did they release this video first, and only promise to release the hotel video by November 9th ? Couldn't they just release ALL their videos right now, and in fact couldn't they have released them all years ago ?
The "hotel video" is the most tantalizing: note the story published 10 days after the attacks (back when EVERYONE believed the government), regarding how "Hotel employees sat watching the film in shock and horror several times before the FBI confiscated the video as part of its investigation.". Aftter this video is released, I strongly recommend FOIA requests for any interviews of these hotel employees, which I would expect would be required as due dilgence by the FBI in their "investigation", unless of course they already knew the answer.

This building is in the top five for security in the nation. There are so many cameras from so many angles. I live close to D.C. and have been by and through the Pentagon many times. I'm watching the blurred out images of the people and the cars moving outside. I don't see any reactions from anybody at all. If whatever hust hit the Pentagon and exploded in a huge fireball, wouldn't the customers and merchant run outside? Wouldn't the cars react by leaving the area, speeding up, to get to or away from the scene of that explosion? It looks like video from any ordinary day at that gas station.

I have a theory about the FBI,
The FBI doesn't claim there is evidence that Bin Laden is linked to the 9/11 attacks. How would this be allowed to stand if the FBI is totally under the control of the September Criminals? I don't think it could. The CIA on the other hand have been the ones that confirm all the Bin Laden messages and were involved with OBL from the beginning.
Suppose there is some sort of inter-agency conflict between the CIA and FBI. All the tapes released by the FBI have raised more questions than answers, and seem to have strange idiosynchracies like time-stamp problems and of course the obvious framerate problems. This newest is stranger still and seems to show nothing at all at first look. Maybe we should look closer. Maybe someone is trying to show us something.
I don't know much but I know this intelligence crowd seems to like clues and riddles. Maybe we're supposed to waste our time analyzing everything. On second thought that might be it.

There are only 2 possibilites for holding all the video of the pentagon strike. The official explanation that it's because of national security is absurd. If we see the exterior of the plane hit the pentagon's exterior wall and it happened just like the official story, there is no way this would compromise national security. Thus:
1) The government has something to hide.
2) The pentagon wants us to think they have something to hide.
Not showing the videos for reason number 1 is obviuos, but what about 2? The reason for number 2 would be a set up. they get all the attention to be focused in on the pentagon, then they release a video of a plane hitting the pentagon and claim this is proof that all 911 thruthers are debunked wackos that can now be ignored.
So how do we respond?
1) Do not start name calling and belittling of people who bring up the pentagon. the government will only enjoy this division and feed off of it. There are real, honest and legitimate doubts and questions as to what happened at the pentagon. Disrespect their questions and opinions and you'll inspire no respect for your questions and opinions.
2) Respectfully point out the considerations as outlined above.
3) Educate or direct them towards the strongest evidence that you believe is legitimate.
for me, the strongest evidence is:
1) WTC 7 fall time
2) Molten metal 6 weeks after 9/11
3) the whistle blowers on the government sheperding the "terrorists" from the middle east, through customs, training on military bases, living with fbi agent land lords, and obstruction and threats of anyone investigating these individuals

That's what I believe it to be also, but I really wanted to get his perspective before pointing that out. A non influence contamination thing. I stay away (for the most part) about wether it was a plane or not that hit the pentagon because it's not the strongest evidence, and not conclusive. But I would like to make a point regarding plane debris.
First It's very important to remember this object that struck the pentagon seemed very intent on hitting this exact spot of the pentagon. the circle around manuever (which made sure it was far from cheney and rumsfeld) performed just prior to hitting the pentagon and the fact that there was no attempt to shoot it down indicates they knew where it was going to hit and it was deliberate. Now if I know where an object is going to hit and this part of the building is purposely vacant for reconstruction and I want the people to think it was a plane, then I would have planted evidence there to help bolster my theory, the same way a passport and a koran were so conveniently found at the wtc and airport parking lots right after the attack. So minor debris itself would not be enough to convince me. These people are not plying global checkers, they're plyaing multi dimensional global chess, where the key to winning is to be planning many moves ahead of your opponent. This is why I stay away from plane at the pentagon and concetrate on wtc 7, norad stand down, whistle blowers and offical version lies. We've seen people go back and forth for years on the pentagion, each with good points, On these other points we see supporters of the government theory squirm, lie and deny because it is far more conclusive.

There's photographs that show a turbofan engine near the burning cars at the Pentagon wall. The bolt pattern has been tracked to match the engine of either a B-737 or A3 Skywarrior. A global hawk also has a turbofan.
So there's many possibilities it was some "flying object" but still no 757.
About the "honeypot trap" theory of the Pentagon: it's true that we're dealing with Mr Rumsfeld directly here. He holds all the keys to whatever info is there about this impact, so they will play every trick to hide and distort the truth.
But also to consider is that a vaporizing 757 would have been a lucky coincidence for the neocons - it could as well have left huge fuselage outside -, so they couldn't count on it and who knows what people would have discovered in photographs then. My theory is they needed it to disappear at the crash site, to hide something about the plane and its passengers.

We can all agree on 2 things.
1 SOMETHING hit the Pentagon.
2. Whatever it was NEVER should have gotten close to hitting the Pentagon because of the "Automatic" ground to air missile system, thus it is clear that whatever it was they wanted it to hit exactly where it did.
Whether or not it was a 757 or a cruise missile, or Global Hawk, or A3 Skywarrior painted to look like AA77 is really a moot point.
I personally dont give a shit what it was especially if we dont have any solid evidence showing exactly what it was.
I would however like to know how even a dirt clod could hit the Pentagon without it being videoed & shot down.

Furthermore, If AA-77 really struck the Pentagon, the gov't wouldn't have lied & claimed that 63 of 64 people onboard were ID'ed with DNA! How can you ID anyone who slammed though the Pentagon @ 530 mph in a fireball???

Why not release the rest of the (80 or so), and why another 2 months before we can see the Hotel footage?
I know this has been said a million times already, but we all need to steer away from this issue. There is a reason they're teasing us with these timed releases of footage. There is a reason why the MSM seems to want to focus mostly on the Pentagon.
I suggest to everyone that we don't put too much of our energies into what hit the Pentagon. Anytime the question is raised, change the subject and discuss the fact that anything managed to hit it at all. Talk about the wargames, who authorized them, and the fact that anything at was even able to penetrate the most well defended airspace in the world.
