Chain Of Command

Jon Gold
6/11/2017

I remember being taught long ago that the only two responsibilities a Vice President has is to break a tying vote in the Senate and to take over as President in the event the President is killed or in surgery. The Vice President is not part of the military chain of command. I’m going to post some information for you, and let you come to your own conclusions. My basic premise is that I don’t think Cheney had the authority to do what he did on 9/11. Which to me, sounds like a BIG thing. I know that Continuity of Government (COG) was activated that morning, but if that gave Cheney authority, you would think the pilots would have been aware of that, which it appears they weren’t (if that was the case). Did his lack of authority cause other confusion? In 2015, photos were released that seemed to show Cheney could not have been in the PEOC prior to the Pentagon being hit, despite all of the available information that suggests it. Because I can’t prove that the photos are fake, or that the footage was played back on a VCR, I have to take them at face value, and put that issue on the shelf. Because of the situation with communications from Bush and that Rumsfeld was “missing,” it set up a scenario apparently where Cheney could do what he did. That’s probably just a coincidence.

GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP – The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey will present a unique perspective on the events of Sept. 11, 2001 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14 in the Elizabeth B. Alton Auditorium.
The free event will feature former Gov. Thomas H. Kean, who co-chaired the federal government’s 9/11 Commission, interviewing John Farmer Jr., senior counsel to the commission and author of “The Ground Truth: The Untold Story of America Under Attack on 9/11.”
“This is a unique opportunity to hear Gov. Kean interview a key figure of the commission he co-chaired,” said Sharon Schulman, executive director of the college’s William J. Hughes Center for Public Policy. “As we approach the milestone first decade since the attacks, we have a better understanding of events leading up to that day and the implications post-9/11. Our event serves to engage and enlighten as our nation moves forward. Our students and community will be hearing true insiders’ perspectives on the events of 9/11.”

How 12/25 Was Like 9/11
By THOMAS H. KEAN and JOHN FARMER Jr.

IN the days since the attempted Christmas Day airplane bombing, many officials, including the White House’s counterterrorism director, John Brennan, have insisted that the Detroit incident was “not like 9/11.” In many respects, we agree. But the government’s handling of the intelligence leading up to the attack was eerily reminiscent of one of the most shocking — and relatively underreported — revelations to come out of the 9/11 commission’s hearings.

David Ray Griffin's review of John Farmer's "The Ground Truth"

This is a scathing, one-star review of a book which pretends to be a truth seeking/telling book, and at this moment, 63 of 68 people found the review helpful!

Dr. David Ray Griffin's Review of

"The Ground Truth: The Untold Story of America Under Attack on 9/11", by John Farmer

Although John Farmer's "The Ground Truth" has attracted a lot of favorable attention, it is a deeply flawed book, containing misleading claims and providing an extremely one-sided account of 9/11.

Much of the attention received by the book has been prompted by misleading claims made by Farmer and his publisher. The book's dust-jacket calls it the "definitive account" of 9/11, but it actually deals almost entirely with only one question about that day: why the airliners were not intercepted.

What do the Warren and 9/11 Commissions have in common? Everything. John Farmer is the author of The Ground Truth: The Untold Story of America Under Attack on 9/11. Mr. Farmer served as senior counsel to the 9/11 Commission, where his areas of responsibility included assessing the national reaction to the terrorist attacks and evaluating the current state of national preparedness for terrorist attacks and natural disasters. He has also served as attorney general of New Jersey (1999-2002), as chief counsel to Governor Whitman, and as a federal prosecutor, and he has advised the special envoy for Middle East regional security. He is presently a partner of a New Jersey law firm and an adjunct professor of national security law at Rutgers University Law School. His editorials and articles have appeared in The New York Times and elsewhere. This should indeed be most interesting.  You know how I love this subject. And the 9/11 Omission, er, Commission.

Zelikow Caught in a Whopper; Made False Statements to Author about Criminal Referral for NORAD, FAA

Documents recently found in the National Archives cast doubt on the integrity of the 9/11 Commission’s Executive Director Philip Zelikow. In an e-mail exchange with author Philip Shenon, Zelikow claimed that he first learned of a dispute on the commission over the investigation of false statements made by NORAD and FAA officials after it had been “percolating for a while” and was not involved in the initial stages of the argument. However, an e-mail chain (scroll down) found in the Archives by History Commons contributor paxvector shows that Zelikow had been involved in the issue from very near the beginning.

Zelikow made the claim he was not involved in the initial stages of the dispute in response to an allegation made by commission staffer John Azzarello and relayed by Shenon. After the staff investigators drafted a memo for the commissioners in early April 2004 outlining why they thought NORAD and FAA officials had deliberately lied to them to overstate the military’s readiness during the attacks, Zelikow “just buried that memo,” according to Azzarello. In response, Zelikow claimed that he had not even known of the issue at the start. The implication was that, as he had not known of it, it could not be him that was orchestrating--or even involved in--a dispute between the staff investigators and the commission’s lawyers, Daniel Marcus and Steve Dunne.

However, the newly found e-mail chain shows Zelikow did know of the issue in April, raising the question as to why he falsely told Shenon he did not. Zelikow is not known to be linked to the FAA, but, if the commission had referred the matter to the Justice Department and it had started a perjury investigation against NORAD officials, this would certainly have had the potential to embarrass his friends at the Pentagon. Zelikow is alleged to have husbanded the issue to ensure a less potentially embarrassing referral to the inspectors general of the FAA and Defense Department, who in the end blamed the false statements on innocent mistakes and poor logkeeping.

Ex-AG Farmer Is Named Dean Of Rutgers Law

Sad isn't it? His career track is more newsworthy than his new book that says, "at some level of the government, at some point in time...there was an agreement not to tell the truth about what happened" with regards to the 9/11 attacks. - Jon

The Ground Truth: The Story Behind America's Defense on 9/11

Another book from the 9/11 Commission that claims the whole thing was a fraud, this time from Senior Counsel John Farmer. I know most of you won't trust Farmer because of his bio, but I think we should consider his opinion as a member of the Commission, especially since he seems to be very critical of it. The book is supposed to come out April 14. - simuvac
