The authors of this film, in spite of their sophistication about many important issues, unfortunately seem to be totally clueless as to the nature and purpose of religion. If one were to take their argument in Part 1 and apply it to science, it would be like saying that science should be shunned because the scientific method is part of a conspiracy by scientists to create ways to blow things up and control people with fear. Should we ban science because it is used to make bombs? Science has done good things AND bad things. The same is true of religion.
They leap from their critique of organized religion to an attack on theism itself. This will turn off a lot of people and cause others (like myself) to be embarrassed by the know-it-all attitude of the narrator. Parts 2 and 3 include a lot of important material and I want to recommend this film, but Part 1 makes me cringe.

The simplification of the issue of terrorism was evident when George Bush in his address to the National Endowment for Democracy said ‘some call this evil Islamic radicalism; others, militant Jihadism; still others, Islamo-fascism. This form of radicalism exploits Islam to serve a violent, political vision: the establishment, by terrorism and subversion and insurgency, of a totalitarian empire that denies all political and religious freedom.’ The whipped up frenzy of al Quaeda and the shadowy figure of utmost evil Osama Bin Laden is standard fare in most media reinforcing the mass hysteria about terrorism.

Johnny Wendell Put 9-11 Truth on Air America Affiliate KTLK1150 for Another Hour on Monday, September 3rd
A day after having Webster Tarpley and Barbara Honegger on the air to discuss 9-11 truth for an hour, host Johnny Wendell had Tarpley back on the air to hone in on the current threatening situation. The 1st segment was focused on the economic indicators that something is coming down the pike. After taking some calls from the audience, including some from local 9-11 truthers, Wendell had Tarpley on for one more segment to focus in on the case of building 7.
Overall, the two day truthathon sponsored by Mr. Wendell was a great gift to 9-11 truth movement in introducing some facts and ideas to a large progressive audience in Southern California. Additionally, both Honegger, on Sunday, and Tarpley, on Monday, directed listeners to go to the LA group's 9-11-07 Commemoration and Convergence Event. Everyone involved did great work to help make it happen.

I am going to ask you to pretend that I am speaking to you as President of the United States and giving my State of the Union Address shortly after inauguration. Your role is as Members of Congress, the Supreme Court, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the Cabinet, and various dignitaries. Your task, as is always the case in these events, is to cheer and clap like crazy when you hear something you agree with … and to sit on your hands when you don’t. The purpose of this is, of course, to let the people watching on television know what they’re supposed to think. Seated behind me are the Speaker of the House and the President of the Senate (the Vice President of the United States).

Khartoum, Sep 4 (IANS) "Osama bin Laden could not have plotted the WTC attacks. Neither did Al Qaeda. It's all a myth created by the West," says Sheikh Hassan Abdallah al-Turbai, the charismatic Sudanese Islamist ideologue who hosted and mentored bin Laden in Khartoum in the early 1990s.
"He came here not to fight. He was building roads and airports and bridges in Sudan. He was a simple man. He could not have done it," Turabi said emphatically to a visiting IANS correspondent when asked whether he thought bin Laden was the key architect of the 9/11 bombings of the World Trade Centre (WTC) in New York that shook the world nearly six years ago. "Anyone who comes here is welcome. Yes, he was angry with the Americans and the British. But he is not the man behind Al Qaeda. Bin Laden comes from southern Saudi Arabia. He hasn't travelled a lot. He is alone," said Turabi, whose niece is married to bin Laden.
